The controls don't bother me as much as the tiny screen. I never got a 3DS XL, and I'm definitely not now with the dumb licensing and the New 3DS coming out in (probably) the next 6 months or so.

Enjoying the new Classic mode! Looks like with the default amount of coins you can only crank the intensity up to 5.9, so it seems like you have to play on lower intensities to build up a gold stash and then wager it on higher intensities. However, playing this is actually stressing my button thumb more than usual. Using a 3DS XL - any advice on how to hold it for Smashing?

Ugh, found out quitting a Classic mode session takes away any coins you used. I did this since I kept dying in 7.1 as Bowser on the first stage and didn't want to waste a life on a early death. I like the game a lot, but I really dislike the 3DS controls even after remapping them. I can't do a smash attack on the analog nob for the life of me.

In Classic, you actually get 2 stocks that refill every match so don't worry about losing 1 stock. Worry about using continues, cos that might prevent character unlocks.

I just swapped shield with grab and turned off tap-to-jump. It took a little while to adjust to the jump button where it was, but it's fine now.

I don't even have the full game yet but I know I'm going to swap the triggers so that L is shield and R is grab. It's the only thing that messes me up when playing the demo. I have no idea why L is grab by default, grab has always been a button with your right index finger, never your left. Also, turning off up-to-jump so I can reliably do Mega Man's shoryuken since it's  and has way more KO-power behind it than I think an uptilt would.

First impression, Marth got a lot worse in this game. His sword is super short, you can't abuse the jumping forward slash and the up tilt swipe doesn't hit behind you and the follow through takes forever. No real loss though because Ness owns bones now and Villager is goofy as poo poo, he rules.
