My first online battle was a horrifically slow and laggy 4-player FFA. All other battles since then, including 4-player ones, has been fine.

FFAs seem to be based on the connections of the players. If everyone has a decent connection, it runs great - if even one person has a bad connection, it runs terribly.

He calls out their names in his reveal trailer. Here's a list from the Smash Wiki that also includes the Kanji. I'm going to assume they appear in this order. 翔 (Jump): Higher jumps, lower defense. 疾 (Speed): Faster movement, lower jumps, weaker attacks. 盾 (Shield): Higher defense, lower jumps, weaker attacks, slower movement. 斬 (Buster): Stronger attacks, weaker launch ability, lower defense. 撃 (Smash): Stronger launch ability, weaker attacks, lower defense against launching.

If you stack offensive equipment on Dedede, he can break a full shield with an uncharged forward smash.

Cheers for the list. In game are there any clues aside from the order/kanji? Like his shoes glowing for speed or anything?

I'm not using Shulk correctly, I'm sure of it, but most times I only feel like switching between Buster and Smash.

I just noticed Falco's voiced by his SF643D voice actor, which means he doesn't have a Brooklyn accent anymore.

I recall people who tried the demo saying Palutena was a beast, which seems laughable because she's kind of awful. Little Mac is a bulldozer though, as is Donkey Kong. Dedede now having a crouching rolling attack that constantly puts him back into his "dont even care" pose is the greatest change of all time for this game.

On one hand; Peach was nerfed pretty hard mechanically and she's the worst she's ever been. On the other, I can smash people with rainbows and hearts. Peach Verdit: The best. Also Mega Man is still a cutie.

There's no visible ladder. If you play 'For Glory' enough they'll place you with similarly-ranked players. Not sure if it's just based on Win Rate or if there are other factors, though.

Urgh it's what I figured. It's a good game and looks amazing on 3ds, but I absolutely can't get past controlling it. At least with the demo version. I'll probably end up getting it anyway and dicking around, but I can honestly barely do anything. The problem's with me and not the game though.

It's a little awkward at first, especially if you're a regular player of old smash versions. You'll get used to it quickly though and be doing pretty much the same poo poo before too long.

I use him to cheese the 100-man-melee type stuff with his down smash. Never touched the guy against other humans in the older games though.

Many people have lovely routers, namely combination modem/routers that their ISPs give them. They're loving terrible for Nintendo online gaming for some reason.

Well Nintendo is tiny compared to other gaming hardware companies so I doubt they have the people or institutional knowledge to make netcode of comparable quality.
