Well that's a shame.

I quite liked Season 3 after a few of those early episodes. They have a clean slate now, so I'll see how it goes but I'm not expecting too much.

Homeland is back!

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes.

I feel like I'm the only person who still enjoys this show. I understand and agree with most of the post season 1 criticisms about it, but it's still one of my favorite shows. I think the first 3 episodes of season 3 were a rough start, but I really, really enjoyed everything after that. I thought last night's episodes were great and am looking forward to the rest of the season. I didn't care much for the scenes with Carrie and baby, but it seems like they won't be much of an issue for the rest of the season.

Obviously season 1 was the best and I doubt any future seasons will ever live up to it, but it's still some drat good television.

Nah, TVIV is usually more on the negative side of things. I think people are still hung up on those weak episodes of Season 2 and switched to hate watching even after it made a pretty good recovery.

Were people actually surprised that Carrie seduced an asset?

I thought the episode was fine. Not super exciting but nothing to make me want to stop watching the show.

Every time I thought this show had jumped the shark (like the Muslim hit squad in season 2) they come up with something even crazier in the next season.

I don't think anything has been as ridiculous as that moment. Well maybe some of the other things in the second half of Season Two...

Maybe the station chiefs you know just aren't as devoted to the job as Carrie is.

Hopefully we get more episodes like that.

Everyone should definitely check out Hatufim (Prisoners of War) the Israeli show homeland is very loosely based on. Although Hatufim is less 24esque need to save the country (well the first season anyway) and more aftermath and reintegration after being abducted.

Yeah I've been watching that recently. First season was awesome and I'm half way through the second.

I enjoyed Saul's debate with a terrorist. They are both the good guys and the bad guys, they are both right and wrong. Good stuff. Also, fundamentalist muslim porn.

Yeah that was great.

Pretty good episode overall.

Poor Saul. That was a pretty good escape attempt by him.

They should've had Saul get captured at the start of the season. His scenes have been great.

They've set Quinn up pretty good to go out in a blaze of glory, which might mean it's not gonna happen knowing this show.

Can someone provide any reason besides "good guys don't use AK's" for as to why Quinn and the Private didn't pick up some firepower from the four guys they dropped in the basement? They knew they were going to be outnumbered and outgunned and did nothing to try to even the odds. Then again both their pistols seemed to have infinite bullets, so maybe they know something I don't.

I dunno, the pistols seemed to work out just fine for both of them.

Great episode but that twist at the end seems a bit unnecessary. We'll see how it plays out I guess.

I liked how they knew there was an assassin trying to kill Haqqani and he still gets up out of the vehicle. Good thing Quinn didn't have a rifle with him...

Yeah Quinn went through all the trouble of setting up that bomb and was willing to kill a lot of innocents when he could've just shot him....very strange.

I really didn't mind the Brody family drama but the Carrie family drama is really something we could do without, especially in a season finale.

It was a pretty good season with a weak season finale. Definitely not SOA or Dexter tier, maybe in a couple more seasons....

That Homeland has reached the point where "scrap it and start over" each season from the previous meta-plot is a testament to how bad the writing is. No one cares if there are 3 brilliant episodes of TV surrounded by 7 complete poo poo ones and the only consistent thing is Carrie's spastic behavior.

I dunno, if they kept Brody's story to a single season things would probably have worked out better. And we have no real need to continue with the Iran or Pakistan storylines.
