Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Goaltender Carey Price was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.

Big night of hockey tonight!

ATTENTION:

If you see this man, do not let him behind your bench, and under NO circumstances allow him to speak to your young, skilled, puck-carrying defensemen. He is armed with outdated ideas and favoritism, and should be considered extremely dangerous to the success of your team.

Tune in to the Habs game if you want to see one of the following:

a) The Habs turning in a journeyman effort and humiliating a young goalie in his first start
b) The Habs playing host to the coming out party of Calvin Pickard, future NHL superstar

It's one or the other, people!

I mean third-string goalies excelling unexpectedly is cool in a narrative sense, but Pickard looks pretty bad and is getting a lot of puck luck going his way

Man oh man. Habs truly dominated the first and second, but couldn't bury chances and in the end Price actually had to bail them out. Good-rear end game though.
