SEASON 16 OVERALL RESULTS

outy is our Goonweight Grand Prix Season 16 winner!
Yours truly did the worst out of everyone who participated in all events, though I narrowly beat out Trast, who played along until last night's fights.

Congrats, outy!

I completely forgot to post a better picture with the Coleman Cup so I am going to make up for it when the belt arrives.

Time to pay the piper, buddy. Post or PM me your pics and also get ahold of outy so we can get this train rolling.

I've got next week's event, UFC on Fox: Dos Santos vs. Miocic, ready to roll, but I'm going to refrain from posting it until tomorrow to let the typical end-of-season banter take place.

As always, check my work. And thanks for playing, everyone! It was fun being on this side of things, and I appreciate everyone sticking it through the first couple events I bumbled.

While I hate to cut the TUF finale out due to it actually being important this time, it's going to be too sloppy of a turnaround with not knowing the lineup until Wednesday and then another card being the next day, so we're just going to start GOONWEIGHT SEASON 17 off with UFC on Fox: Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic.

Finding value in a line is much more difficult than just having a winning record picking fights. A guy can win and still be a poor bet. A guy can lose and still be a good bet.

DumbWhiteGuy falls one point short of the coveted Mark Coleman Perfect Score Club. Davehog and LobsterMobster are sparred a Shameful Failure by the grace of Junior Dos Santos.

The next event will be UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dollaway on Dec. 20. The final event of this season will be UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz Jan. 31, 2015. The OP will be updated with the full list of events.

Incidentally, would goons prefer we go back to each season getting its own thread? We can keep a single megathread for it all or go back to the old way, which is negligibly more effort but I don't mind. I'll keep Season 17 in here either way but we can change it going forward.

Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed the holidays! Now that the craziness is over and that coward Chris Weidman has celebrated his last Christmas as champ, I'm finally getting around to posting these!

UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dollaway results
Lyoto Machida def. C.B. Dollaway TKO, 1
Renan Barão def. Mitch Gagnon Submission (arm-triangle choke) 3 3:53
Patrick Cummins def. Antônio Carlos Júnior Decision
Rashid Magomedov def. Elias Silvério TKO, 3
Erick Silva def. Mike Rhodes Submission, 1
Daniel Sarafian def. Antônio dos Santos Jr. TKO, 2

Event 2 totals

EricHall proves that unlike Annie, he can make good choices, securing the top honors for the event.

Season totals to date

ChampRamp holds the top spot by a hair in a neck-and-neck race, beating out outy by one OTN pick and EricHall by one point. This is a close season!

If your OTN picks aren't adding up, don't fret. Yuriy, I triple-checked the form on my end and couldn't see why it wasn't tallying your score for picking Mitrione in the first event. Between that and Dana deciding there were four POTNs and no FOTN last event, the numbers are probably a little messed up for everyone at this point. So I'm still going to try to keep track of them, but if the season comes down to a tie, I'll just double-check them manually before announcing a winner. And check my work anyway.

Having said that, here we go!
UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier
Jon Jones (c) vs. Daniel Cormier
Donald Cerrone vs. Myles Jury
Brad Tavares vs. Nate Marquardt
Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Louis Gaudinot

Blargh, you did. I remember seeing it in the response form when you posted, not sure where it went. I'll check from home this afternoon but I might just rebuild this event and see if it resolves some of the issues, there've been too many weird technical hiccups and I'm fairly confident they're not user error. Sorry, buddy, it wasn't intentional and your picks will count!
