Your archetype is Gifted at the top, but seeing as how your Arc is 0 i think that's a typo?

Unless he intends to grab Fell Caller later. I'm uncertain if he still starts with 3 for being a will weaver if he doesn't have a magic based career though.

Sheet here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2qb1h4u7h1d1bjw/Hedwig.pdf?dl=0 Disregard, can't update it.

Couldn't find a picture that really said "Mage on a horse that is robbing people," but Zoltan is an every-dwarf.

Anyways on with the background!

Hedwig knew his last name, but knew better than to express it out loud in the company of other dwarves. When he was growing up his parents lived in servitude, never really trying to improve their station. He didn't understand it, why a family with obvious talents couldn't get out of their own way and simply make a name for themselves. His father taught him how to use his willpower to affect the world, how to manifest power and yet they still lived like this. It wasn't until his brother Hardwick came home one night with burns over half of his body that he was finally told why his last name was a shameful secret. His house had been one of the most respected houses in the Moot being the pre-eminent trainers of Rhulic arcanists at the time. That is, until it's leader was revealed to be an agent of the Wurm. The discovery had come with the blood of fellow countrymen, and worse than that students, upon his great-great-great-great-grandfather's hands, and souls of dwarves used for unspeakable magicks. The dwarf was a necromancer, taking students who could have one day been arcanists serving for Rhul and turning them into fuel for his own spells. Hedwig's brother had tried to defend his house name to dwarves training for the Brand of Odom, unknowing that their house name was used as a cautionary tale within their order, and taught him what it meant to be of their house. Hardwick died that night, gasping for air that couldn't make it to his lungs due to swallowing fire. The authorities were told, but due to a lack of sympathetic witnesses no charges were filed. For the next few weeks Hedwig's rage and grief intermingled until he could no longer contain them. He struck out at the first trainee he could find for the Brand of Odom and killed her in the middle of the marketplace. Realizing what he had done, Hedwig stole a horse from a visiting human merchant and fled into the wilderness.

That was about 8 years ago, and now Hedwig had survival down to a science. A few gunshots and most merchants leaving Laell would leave their wagons trying to avoid the flying bullets, or send their guards out to try and take down the gunman. Unfortunately, they weren't expecting to be hit with magic and would soon turn tail and flee to Laell as fast as their legs would carry them, leaving whatever was still in their wagons. Hedwig didn't steal too many expensive items, only things that reminded him of home and supplies so that he could eat. Had been a lot of rations and weaponry headed in lately, so he had quite the stockpile when a grizzled dwarf wearing beige armor with an off-center green stripe found his camp. He didn't ask him his name, he simply asked him one simple question. "You want to rot in a dungeon for the rest of your short life until the Branders need target practice? Or would you rather a chance to serve Rhul and become an upstanding citizen again?"

Are you saying that a troll on a bigass buffalo can't scout? :v:

Of course they can. Their version of scouting is usually just combined with whatever they saw getting trampled. Whatever survives will either chase them or run the gently caress away. I say this, having played with someone who scouted this way. He was also a Fell Caller, so we'd hear a loud rear end "FOUND THEM," and then screaming.

Impressions:

Ruhk, Menite Paladin
Hedwig had heard stories of what Menites do to people who refuse to accept Menoth, but Ruhk didn't seem so.... fanatical. He still believed in some things that were wrong, but didn't immediately go for the fire the moment someone disagreed with him.

Alexsei, Khadoran Man/Man
Hedwig had met very few Khadorans in his lifetime, and Alexsei was probably the most jovial of them. Always willing to share a story or two over a bottle of booze, he had learned a lot about Khadoran life and Alexei's love of his queen. Still, it was hard to hold a long conversation with him. Craning your neck while talking to someone who is sitting down tends to make it harder to concentrate.

Tannis, Bufflo Riding Trollkin
Hedwig was fascinated that a buffalo could be trained to be ridden, but otherwise kept his distance. Never could tell which trollkin could scream you to death by looking at them, his father had always said.

Vengeant, Renegade Arcanist
The Iosan was pleasant enough when he spoke, the problem was just getting him to talk. Never wanted to talk about his past, which he understood but it was rather hard to make conversation about the weather while in the Cauldron. Still, he wasn't as stand offish as the stories he'd heard about the elves made them out to believe.

Moglok, Gobber Tactician
Easily the smartest gob Hedwig has ever met, as well as the most pleasant to be around. The gob knew when to keep quiet and when to put his foot down as a leader, as well as a surprisingly good handle on tactics. Still, it was a genuine surprise that he was chosen over Gunnar to lead this ragtag team.

Gunnar, Dwarven Murderer
A fellow dwarf who looked like he should be a floor below them and training with the Branders. Hedwig stayed away from him during training for the most part, never able to stop thinking about the flames he commands when trying to hold a conversation with him.
