I think the idea is that those are all "weird" episodes of American Dad that really push the premise.

I thought they were going to keep to the silent movie bit the entire episode.

I had heard the episode was avant-garde with no voice work. I spent the first five minutes of the episode happily watching with no sound. Then I realized my headphones weren’t turned on.

Is there a character who looks like a Roger persona but is actually a normal (if misshapen) person? Like, the family see them and go "Oh it's Roger" and Roger comes in and says "Hey, I thought so too but it's not!" I don't mean when they think it will be Roger, but that they look like they are.

There's Wilbur Kentucky from when Stan became an enumerator.

I liked the episode but it felt more like something Futurama would do.

That's what myself and my fiancee thought as well. Now with the jump back over to *sigh* Fox the ending feels pretty apt. Why can't it just go be amazing on Adult Swim????

Worth noting that since Fox (the Odious Media Company) sold Fox (the Studio) to Disney, they've been on a TBS/WBD-style programming purge. The network has put a lot into sports rights and reality programming and way less into traditional narrative series over the last few seasons. I wonder if 20th Century Television had already planned to continue AD on Hulu, but Fox negotiated "Alright well we get first-run broadcast rights" at a bargain rate as part of that big $1.5b deal mentioned earlier.

Whatever I'm buying it. Bought it. It's done.

Danuta and Nerfer are great adds to the cast, giving Hayley a friend group opens her up to more storylines in the same way Steve's friend group gives him more adventures he can go on.

Another thing that's been great for Hayley is her job, I feel like that was probably supposed to be a single episode thing that the writers kept around because it just gave them so much more to do with her. There have been a lot of great subhub related plots.

I really enjoy when Danuta and Nerfer point out to Hayley that her being married with a steady job is kinda aspirational to them. I get why she was a complete loser in the early seasons but she and the show are much improved by letting her have stuff going on.

I think the last episode they intended to riff off of Megalopolis, and they just did a better plot than Megalopolis.
