Because the reply PM stated that I had only one right, and I didn't guess my own word - I already knew it. DOCTORS SCALPEL ******* FURIOUS TREMBLE MIDGETS TICTOCK FLAMING GERMANS FRENCHY AMERICA SALVOES Was my guess list. I *'d my word. EDIT: Oh. I guess "GERMANS" not Germany. Sorry.

Yeah. I had 1 correct word, and it was the one given to me. I haven't found any others. I figure that, if nothing else, I can narrow down the list of words it could possibly be.

I added mine to the list, Mouse. I figure why not. If we have an actual big database of words that don't work, it's easier to call someone out if they're lying about their word.

No one's said they're contacting me or Somber, I think because the way the day's gone it's pretty clear one of us are going to go. I don't see winvirus getting a third vote, but Somber and Rarity could switch late to put me over Somber. It's going to come down to whetehr or not I can get someone else to vote Somber. PoP, I'm probably calling you tonight. Rarity posted:Tell me more about how a 1 in 12 possibility is more valuable than a 1 in a gazillion possibility If I know the position of someone's word but not the word itself, I would try to get them voted out on an odd day. Their word gets revealed, and I have a head start on everyone else because I know where it goes and everyone else needs to bruteforce the location. That is why the location is more important; it is slower to get the location once you have the word than to get the word once you have the location.

Somberbrero posted:Is this implying you think there's a theme in the word list? I'm not sure I understand. No, it's implying there's a theme in some of my guesses, testing if there was a theme in the word list. I took out the words that betray that theme. For instance, say my word is PATTON, and I tried other WWII generals. If I put those words in, it gives a clue as to my word in the reject list. For what it's worth, none of the theme words hit, either, so I think that it's truly random.

Just want to run down the schedule of events on the night of a deadline. Tonight, at 9 eastern, one of you will be eliminated from the game. Your code segment will be revealed, but the placement of that segment will not (as it is an odd-numbered day). I will be around and should have this ready to go within minutes of the deadline. Votes at :00 will count, but votes at :01 will not. If you are the player being eliminated, please don't make any posts about your game content (code, placement) after the deadline - up to and at the deadline is fine. I will accept guesses for Day 1 until I make the elimination post - however, you should probably try to get this in before the deadline for two reasons: 1) I plan on being on time for these eliminations, so you probably don't want to take the risk that you can beat me to it. 2) If the eliminated player posts their code after the deadline (I would hope by accident!!), that will be considered the hard stop for guesses. I'm just trying to eliminate the possibility that somebody reveals game content after they are officially killed - consider yourself dead if you're the vote leader (or lose a tiebreaker) the second the clock strikes :01, regardless of whether or not I have posted your segment. The thread is open during night phase, so please feel free to continue talking at/after the deadline, even if I haven't made the elimination post yet.

Actually, I'm gonna modify that and say the cutoff for guesses is a hard :00 as well. At :00 is okay, :01 or beyond isn't. Just makes it so there isn't any variation from day-to-day regarding my own personal availability or speed.

I am inclined to find last-minute voting/vote-switching to be in poor taste, personally. I don't know if that's common in the mafia games on these forums, but given that real life exists, and it doesn't provide an opportunity for people to defend themselves or convince people to vote for others, I think it sours the spirit of the game. I recognize it's a fairly significant mechanical advantage, but given the constraints of playing this kind of game on a messageboard, in the name of sportsmanship I feel like giving people at least 3-4 hours is the right thing to do. Though, if we get eight votes in in the last hour, I'm sure as hell not going to bring a vote-knife to a vote-gun fight.
