Can't find the Get Help thread, or it disappeared, whichever November 1st 2013, one year ago today, the man who saved my life through my first Afghanistan tour lost his fight with PTSD. Captain Casey McCausland, right (me on the left), was found at the foot of a stairwell by his sister in his hometown of St. Louis, MO.  Tough motherfucker. DQ'd from SFAS for a shattered pelvis they found belatedly in his medical records; a result of a bad jump with the 82nd. Some kid above him hit Casey's chute. Until the SF dudes discovered he was medically ineligible for SF, he was ahead of the pack in the assessments. He wrote poetry. His father is an advocate for awareness of issues pertaining to veterans and PTSD. The previous link is a blog post written by Casey's father. His family dealt with Casey's need to be alone after his medical discharge for PTSD, his unwillingness to cooperate with those who wanted to help him and who loved him most. quote:On November 1, 2013, my daughter found him dead, laying at the bottom of his stairs at the front door. The coroner ruled his death was accidental. The autopsy showed all blood work and organs were normal; only noting a small amount of compressed air gases present in his lungs. I have an idea for the get help thread to prevent problems with assholes copying and pasting dudes phone numbers everywhere. If you sign up for google voice you can have it forward calls to your real phone and they have an adobe flash widget you can post on pages to let people call you without giving out either your google voice number or real number. I've used it on webpages I've done in the past and it works great. This might not work posted directly on the forums, but we could have an offsite contact list that we link to here. When I went to my VA briefing there were 2 guys from basic training there. One was all smiles constantly getting stared down by everyone for being a punk bitch, and the other dude had a cane. His pupils were completely dilated, so you knew he was on some major pain killers, yet I've seen 90 year olds more spry than this poor fucker. Whatever they did to him I hope someone is locked up now but in reality I know he's probably been promoted.
