And yet Carolina is still "beating" them. Jeff Marek brought up a good point the other day, GMs talk every day via text, email, phone. Every day. (Personal aside: I had the chance to talk to Chuck Fletcher a few months ago and he said he probably talks to every GM in the league every 3 days - to gauge interest and see what people need and who is available. By the way, Chuck Fletcher made it very clear to me that the idea of a player being "off-limits" is a completely fan created construct. GMs would be run out of certain towns if fans knew the types of conversations GMs have every day. IE, "What do you want for Claude Giroux?") Long story short: Can you imagine the conversations Tim Murray and Ron Francis are having? Obviously hockey trades are designed to solve an issue each side has, but in this case aren't both teams trying actively to get worse?

From the October thread:quote:not sure if you watched on TV or you were there but holy gently caress it was miserable. I was in a sea of leafs fans and they were all yelling obnoxiously at the back of my head while we got smashed. it took every fiber of my being to not leave early. these are trying times as a jackets fan. I was in the upper bowl, and it was 90% Columbus fans up there. Most of the lower bowl were Leafs fans, though. It was lovely for the Jackets, and personally for me it would've been lovely if it was any other team. I root for the Leafs as well, so I didn't have an issue with it.

Apparently the Hilton was one of the things that got Columbus an All-Star Game (something about insufficient suites in the Arena District before it opened). The RBar is a hockey bar which is unanimously said to be a cool place. If you've got kids/are kids at heart, there's COSI nearby, which is a hands-on science museum.

Who do you guys think is going to win tonight the Oilers or the Canucks. Could be a chance for Eberle to get on the board but its looking rough for the boys in blue and orange - hard to call this one

Yeah, here's the full list of what to do down there. Even if you stay away from the AD, there's plenty of parking on a game day. http://arenadistrict.com/ Huntington Park is awesome (both it and Nationwide are spectacular) and Clippers tickets are reasonably priced. I'm not much of a baseball fan, but a Clippers game is a good time. Splurge for the Tansky Club. Private area behind home plate with your own concession area for $20.
