I like the girl that's basically Toad from X-Men. I also like that this series is pretty much the movie Sky High. Which is okay because that movie ruled.

I noticed she's got a good deal of fan art, so it seems she's popular among the Japanese readerbase as well.

DrSunshine posted:I keep reading them with the voices of certain well-known anime voice actors in my mind. Like, Deku sounds exactly like Yuri Lowenthal in my mind, and Infinity Girl sounds just like Hynden Walch. It's pretty great. I read the new chapter after reading this, and I started doing it too. For me, it was Deku-Yuri Lowenthal Uraraka-Stephanie Sheh Katsuki-Bryce Pappenbrook Iida-Johnny Yong Bosch Yuuga-Vic Mignogna Tsuyu-Wendee Lee All Might-J. Here's a caveat for new readers: The original translation of the first chapter was shoddy as all hell and somewhat painful to read. The group has since redone that chapter and put that translation on Batoto, but if you're on a non-Batoto site, you might still encounter the original.

Frogs are cute and girls are cute, so when you put them together, you get double cute. Worked with Eruka from Soul Eater.

Well, I'm certainly suspicious because their spinal cord was oddly defined on their neck.

I was thinking about how far the translation group has come in 14 chapters. I mean, their original translation of the first chapter was near-unreadable, and now they're actually localizing jokes! It's good to see.

Well, he's still not fully in control of his quirk yet, so a lot of what he's doing IS still him without his powers, and one of the themes of the series seems to be that just having a quirk doesn't make you a hero, what with the entrance exam and the Bakugou rivalry.

I just had the worst thought about a future anime adaptation. If it had come out in a time when 4Kids could license it, they'd probably make Tsuyu French, being a frog.

I cannot believe you all are ignoring one of the greatest jokes in the entire series run, which is that two people had the same goddamn superpower and the manga was like "Hey, what the gently caress? That's hosed up!"

Neeksy posted:I really hope if there is an anime adaptation, they play up the humor of this chapter. There's a lot of gags here that could really hit well if presented right. I really hope if there's an anime adaptation, that it's a full adaptation rather than a 24 episode thing with an anime original end. Seeing as it's on track to become the Next Big Thing, it seems fortunately likely.
