I don't get all this faux Zombie essentialism. Weren't Zombie movies a slightly more blunt version of No Exit since the first Romero?
Or, at least the second, with the living dead mostly being there to lock people in with each other?

Does anybody know how they do the ruined city scenery? When looking out the window at a burned out city, is that just CGI?

I still can't tell who's serious in this thread. Thought it was an ok ep. Lots of redundancy in storytelling, good cinematography though. I don't mind the redundancy because a lot the people watching this show are idiots and can't keep details straight anyway. I honestly don't know what the haters even want out of this show. Character dev is "boring", survivalism is "boring", stabby stabby zombieheads is "boring", what do you guys even want?

Hopefully Carol takes down the hospital in a glorious fireball. While wearing a skin mask. RAPE COP SKIN MASK.

There aren't really all that many people complaining about the former, and it's certainly not the majority amongst the people complaining about episodes. It is not even a major theme in the complaints.
You're not paying attention.

I'm saying this as somebody who liked all the episodes so far but for the one with the bad dialogue in the hospital.

This, but unironically.
They're all really good at murdering people and killing zombies and looking grim and stuff. That's old news. Suddenly, a yo-yo!

I think people are a bit too much invested in how tactically smart the people on the show are.
It's not a military training video. It's a TV show about people during the Zombie apocalypse.

I definitely agree with this. The music that was playing in the background, combined with the awesome acting in that scene, is probably the most memorable moment of the series. That and the lone zombie wandering in that field of wheat in a sport coat as Shane rides by in a car. That single image is the most powerful imo and I was very excited when they added it to the opening credits.
Do you have a link to the scene?

I still remember distinctly trying to dissolve it all and it just wouldn't it was so saturated.

First sip of milk "oh god what have I done, this is terrible, throw this away and heat me another glass :gonk:". And then she made me drink it all. It was the last time I managed to even sip white milk, good job mom. I'd still drink a gallon of it and ask for more if some nut had me tied down to a chair and threatening to cut my head off if I didn't.

I could understand why someone outside of maybe Daryl would be apprehensive about eating the applesauce. Stuff is nasty,
I had opened the Mac Hardware thread and this thread in background tabs, and when I came to read this one, this post was horribly confusing as I was trying to dissect your metaphor for Apple, Inc.s hardware business.

I wasn't even as upset about the terrible physics of that scene as I was about the simple fact that the 2 most badass characters on the show allowed themselves to get into that stupid situation in the first place.
And that was telegraphed from a mile away. They were even telling each other: "this is a dangerous situation, we must take care as to not end up trapped in this van!" And I was, naively, thinking: well, of course, this will not happen, as that would be very clichéd.

I don't like how for two communities in a row, their most salient dirty secret is abuse of women. It's a women in refrigerators thing.
I guess in a way it's only realistic, as the physically weaker sex historically suffers disproportionally more under less civilised conditions (baring outright warfare), but it's still lazy storytelling.

It was better to leave it out. They'd already established that the governor was a monstrous person, all it would've done was aggravate viewers further (and provide creepy fap material for some). I feel like the only reason Kirkman includes it in the comics is because he has a thing for rape and poo poo that borders on suffering porn; it rarely seems to do much for character development or plot advancement.

I'm also not surprised that Rick was getting his rear end half kicked by Pete; it's not Rick fights hand to hand with living people all that often for practice and Pete has like at least half a foot and fifty pounds on him. And beer muscles.
Also, one of Rick's defining features is that his combat abilities consist of getting bloodied and then escalating by doing something outrageous, like biting a guy's throat open.

Maybe I don't watch enough shows, but Aaron is probably the best gay rear end-kicking guy I've ever seen. Not to say he's perfect, but there's much to like about him. He doesn't seem like the writers trying to paint against the cliche. He just seems like a dude who kills zombies using improvised weapons like the best of them, and also likes guys.

And of course, still gay enough to make bad people angry at their TV.
