According to the Steam forums it's going to be a Valve standard 10am PST release for PC, not sure about other platforms.

Just finished the episode, and I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes even though this entire universe is based around the best laid plans going horribly, horribly wrong and everyone dying.

Regarding Ethan, is there an outcome where he lives? I chose to let Ramsay in and was being as diplomatic as one can with an actual psychopath, only to (naturally) get shanked. It feels like the kind of thing that's universal no matter your choice, since the whole exiled second son thing is being so built up. I'm just glad the fucker didn't get Ethan's sister. Your death was not in vain, buddy, :smith:

I will say that having the actual show intro was a little jarring, they really seem to want this to be an extension of the HBO series.

The only really egregious part of the Stark-Forrester parallel is how much the Lady character looks like Catelyn, really couldn't shake that for the whole episode. I mean, I appreciate that fashion for ladies is probably universal across the kingdom, but she really did look like a carbon-copy.

Echoing what everyone has said about this episode being really strong. I loved every minute of it and it feels like they've taken criticisms of the first episode to heart. Now that everything is more or less set-up it feels like Telltale is able to hit their groove of telling a good story and keeping you invested in the characters. I don't think anyone isn't rooting for the various Forrester kids.

I also agree with whoever said the show actors are putting on a good show, the part when you're in the elevator at Castle Black and you have a chat with Jon Snow was actually pretty great, it was a nice break from the high-stakes conversations at the various courts and you got to share the common sentiment of "gently caress back-stabbing south-loving assholes".

Just got to the part where John Snow shows up. Why does he seem to be one of the bigwigs? Isn't he still sort of a scrub as far as the night's watch is concerned at this point in the story?

At this point in the story he's Lord Commander of the Night's Watch after Mormont got fragged north of the Wall and Sam rigged the vote for his successor.

This hasn't happened yet. This is taking place before the Wildling Attack that was the big end of season 4.

Sorry, it's been a while since I read the books, and I don't follow the show so I'm not sure where the game falls exactly within the HBO franchise. I just refreshed myself, however, and this is all book 3 stuff. The only part of my post which hasn't happened is the (book spoilers) Lord Commander part, and I seem to recall from the books that there was a very small window between Jon leaving the Wildlings and them attacking the Wall, like a week or something like that, then he gets imprisoned for treason and then elected. Is it different in the show?

Yeah I only watch the show so that's why it struck me as odd unless I'm screwing the timelines up.

Overall, I'd have to agree it was quite a good episode. It's interesting compared to TWD which is really it's own thing and barely resembles the show but GOT seems very consistent with the style and writing. Only thing that bugged me was that paint filter going berserk all over the place and making random stuff look crappy and fuzzy. I have no idea if it's a bug or if it was intended to look like that but it looked pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure that's just a default photoshop 'oil painting' filter, it stuck out to me, too. I think it was some kind of response to people saying the game looked bad. Telltale is trying to say, 'No no no, it's a stylistic choice!'

I think this is way later actually, since this hasn't happened in the show yet. I was under the impression that he had just recently recovered from his run in with Ygritte, which means he's not LC yet and still has to answer to the likes of Thorne and Slynt.

I was wrong, because in the books the attack on the wall happens immediately after he returns to the Night's Watch and I don't watch the show so I didn't know they changed it. The change is best for the show and game, though, since it looks like a key factor in how they pace everything else.

I actually thought this episode looked better than the first one with the heavier application of filter. I think the game looks perfectly fine now, aside from some weirdness with the show actors.

I ran into some strangeness.

In episode one I picked the decent, peaceful guy as my Sentinel but when I started this episode, the warmongering bald guy had the glove and was Sentinel. The game didn't remark on the job changing hands in any way, which leads me to believe I may have run into some kind of bug or scripting error.

Anyone else see anything like this?

I made the same choice as you and mine stuck, sounds like something's wrong with your save. Not that it changes anything, anyways. Maybe the specific reason the Whitehill soldiers are assholes? Not like it would matter.

It's hard not to let book/show knowledge colour perceptions, though. Making a deal with Tyrion feels really dangerous, since it's going so well right now but we know what's going to happen to him soon. Even getting recruited for Varys's spy network is pretty risky considering how the show handles Varys.

I think anyone who has even the most passing knowledge of the show will realize that any Northerner in Kings Landing will get hosed over sooner or later, barring becoming the focus of some intrigue master's creepy obsession.

Also, if by Roderick's former fiancee, you mean the Whitehill daughter, she was Asher's love interest. Their love is the reason he's exiled, which I'm pretty sure is explained in episode 1. You're right though, it is a shame because she seems like a reasonable sort.

I was referring to the woman you meet to discuss the betrothal with, although yeah, the Whitehill daughter also seems quite reasonable. I wonder if her and Asher getting married as a way to unite the houses and end their feud might be a way the plot goes?

Ohhh, the 'former' thing threw me because I managed to keep it, my bad. Knowing Telltale the deal betrothal will probably fail no matter what anyways, leaving the house in the same position plot-wise for when Asher comes into play.

That was a good episode. I also realize how hosed I would be in the GoT world because I just couldn't loving submit to Gryff. I promised his sister that I would let him think he was in control, but I just couldn't loving do it. It was so drat satisfying to stand up every time from the mud and watch him get more and more freaked out. "Even broken he is twice the man you are!" :black101: Better to die with a sword in my hand and my honour intact than sniveling in front of that little poo poo. I tried placating the Whitehills as Ethan, and look where that got me. Never again.

It's Telltale, you could go the whole scene pressing the bare minimum amount of buttons to not die and the result is the same.
