Hopefully this will be better than Walking Dead Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us. I also hope that they won't overuse the show characters, that would be pretty weird when you are playing as a really minor house like this.

I know people have said this game requires more knowledge of the source than Telltale's other games. Do you think I would be OK jumping into this game if I've only seen the first season of the show? I have read the first four books, although it's been awhile (and I know they don't line up with the show exactly).

I'm not too worried about spoilers, I just don't want to be completely lost if I haven't seen the latest seasons. I'm holding off on watching them so that my wife and I can watch them together when she's not busy with school, but I much prefer playing Telltale's games as they're released episodically instead of all at once when they're done.

You'll be fine since you have read the books.

Rodrik surviving unconscious on that cart all the way from the Twins to Ironrath which realistically should have taken weeks was incredibly stupid. Otherwise I enjoyed the episode, I just wish I had a choice to not go to the garden at night and not taking the deal with Tyrion

Dolash posted:

Edit - do we know anything at all about House Glenmore? Elaena is a Northerner, she played with Roderick as a child so they probably don't live far away, and they have enough troops to offset the Whitehills. Not much to go on, it'd be nice to know who their liege lord is - and come to think of it, where are the Glovers while all this is going on? You'd think the Boltons would have to go through them, not to mention when Deepwood Motte gets occupied by Ironborn that'd be a big issue!

I really doubt that the game is going to go into how the Forresters are sworn to the Glovers but it'd be cool if they did since that might mean that we'll get Ironborn :toot:

I really don't like how you keep interacting with the big players in the setting. It just seems so awfully convenient for the Forresters who are the pretty inconsequential vassals of a vassal of a vassal of the Iron Throne, I was kinda hoping that they'd only do it early on but it seems like they are going all in on it with the ending to this episode.

And the railroading gets pretty brutal in this with the Tyrion and the blatant Varys Bird (you were being drowned by a man twice your size with nothing within reach, you don't just get to brush that off with a loving oneliner) stuff, lord.

Also it seems like they were in the Bolton pockets ahead of things, which makes them traitors anyway (if you're pro-North).

I mean, they have been vassals of the Boltons for centuries. It's not like lord Whitehill was involved in any way in the betrayal of house Stark at the Red Wedding.

I mean, its the best GoT Game, but that's not really saying much cause I feel like its the worst thing Telltale has done post Walking Dead season 1 (yeah, I said it...GoT is worse than Walking Dead season 2).

The Game of Thrones RPG is better than this.

Really wish they hadn't tied the story so hard to big story characters. I remember that a lot of people speculated that they were just doing it in the first episode to get people interested back when they first started releasing trailers and stuff but nope, you get Tyrion and his merry friends all the time. It's just so awkward to have them show up all the time in this story about a really irrelevant family and I feel like they limit their story options.

I still haven't played beyond episode 4 and I'm starting to think I never will. Lord.

Gared: you find the north grove. There's a village there lead by two siblings, brother and sister, that are actually Lord Gregor Forrester's secret bastards. The brother is a warg and the sister uses blood magic to harness the grove's power
