Like I said across various other threads I think this series will benefit from having some seriously good material to work with for once that should offer some strong stuff to lean on later. Please show off some Stark banner men that aren't Bolton or loving Karstark, they both suck Tell Tales. ![]() Also Ramsay looks.. kinda strange. SatansBestBuddy posted:Tales from the Borderlands got me hyped by it's first episode, but checking out the trailer for this series I'm really wary of how many characters from the show are making an appearance. Hopefully it's just typical trailer bait and switch bullshit, but I was kinda hoping the series would stand on it's own, tying in to the show just by tangential politics. It'd be kinda annoying to be playing a spin-off game that has Cersei show up every episode or have Ramsay as the main antagonist. Ramsay won't be the main bad guy, the family he's backing for the land will be I think.

30 minutes until it's out. I really it's longer than TWD S2's first ep. Edit: Whelp, meant 40 minutes. BillBear fucked around with this message at 18:32 on Dec 2, 2014 |

Dolash posted:Playing right now. About 2/3 of the way through I think, and it's good, but blurgh please don't make me play as Not-Sansa. Those bits were tough enough to watch in the show. Sansa becomes vastly more interesting after she leaves KL and I think the same will happen here. As for the EP, really enjoyed it even if it started out a bit slow. I hope we see some interesting places in Essos though, Slaver's Bay is loving boring. BillBear fucked around with this message at 23:07 on Dec 2, 2014 |

I would easily say Tell tales has done pretty awesome in the past 2 years, mainly due to moving towards more mature content. I honestly thought the Walking Dead was going to be loving terrible when I first saw it go up for pre order, boy was I wrong.

DialTheDude posted:Did anyone else get a lot of Theon impression from Gryff? Prancing around another House like he owns the place and does everything he can to shame the family? I hope this ends with one of his relatives coming to visit to give him a talking to and his soldiers kicking him out. Well, I can see some connections but Theon's someone who was pushed into a extremely difficult situation, he's quite tragic and you get the feeling Theon doesn't like what he was doing in WF while Gryff is just 100% poo poo. Overall great ep, loved all of it. Also Royland saying you kill a snake by smashing it's head in, great foreshadowing for poor Oberyn.

I hope they stay faithful to GRRM/D&D in the way that when the time for the Whitehills bite it comes you question whether or not they truly deserve it. GRRM isn't someone who lets people get away with doing horrible poo poo, even Ned gets what some people may call justice when he gets beheaded by the sword he used to kill that poor deserter, GRRM likes to give us what we ask for but does it in a way where we are meant to question if they truly have it coming. If they just kill all the Whitehills and paint it as something 100% good they won't be giving the source material justice. Even the Mountain suffers a fate many wouldn't wish on anyone, left to get consumed alive by poisons while getting operated on by a man he tortured in Harrenhal and who's famous for horrible horrible poo poo. Joffrey dies begging for his mother to save him and of course we have Theon becoming Reek. Personally I believe Joffrey and the Mountain deserve what they got but it's clear it's not something GRRM wants to be 100% just. Edit: Forgot we don't spoiler tag aired show spoilers ![]() BillBear fucked around with this message at 21:07 on Mar 28, 2015 |

I liked the ep but fuccccck, stop trying to shove the show characters into the game and if you must at least make sure they respond accurately, like seriously... Dany getting mad over some slaver getting murdered by his ex slave? Do they even watch the show or read the books ![]() The Forrester I care most about is Asher, he's totally awesome so it's sad that he has to somehow be involved in Dany's invasion of Meereen when Essos is full of different areas the show/books will never touch. It also helps that Asher is completely original in every way while his family are almost identical to the Starks which makes them less interesting to be honest, I like them but they don't have that spark the Starks have. The game is at it's best when it's completely original but still has some of that GOT flavor, if it leans on the main series too much it'll just get dull. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point Oberyn has Mira poison his spear or Tuttle somehow gives Stannis directions to Mance's crib. Dolash posted:For like the third time, Dany has explicitly tried to prevent the freed slaves from massacring the Masters because vigilante action will probably end in every non-slave in Mereen being killed, whether they're a fat, rich slave owner or the child of a poor free-man. She's tried to position herself as the dispenser of justice who decides when people will be executed and that's hard to do if you don't come down on people who take it into their own hands. Have you watched the show where literally this happened? She only does this AFTER the invasion though, she doesn't care about what happens during it and if she knew Beshka was his ex slave she would probably pat her on the shoulder and say "well done" since that's what Dany views as justice.

I want to love this game because I love the show and books to death but Christ, TT aren't making it easy. ![]() That Mira thing, like why... we all know Cersei isn't the smartest but she would have to be Hodor tier to send god drat Mira to find out what Tyrion's plan is. Holy christ that was bloody terrible and is obviously TT trying to have the show characters show up as much as possible for cool points. I liked Asher winning the mercs over the best this ep, that was really cool and shows what TT can do when they aren't so heavily restricted by canon, I really wish the whole game was like this because it's great. The beyond the wall plot isn't exactly compelling to me, they need to explain what the gently caress this North Grove stuff is before I start caring. The ending does feel really rushed, Asher going from slaver's bay to the North should have happened over the course of a ep at least, not even the show and books have teleporting dudes this fast. Also the family reunion felt like they just met last week rather than years apart. That choice made me feel conflicted as gently caress but lol at TT crippling Asher with that crossbow bolt, appears being crippled is somehow still important then. This game would have been completely awesome if it was just Asher, he's cool as gently caress and is always entertaining, he also has way more interesting characters around him.
