Fantastic Planet is one of the most persistently horrifying films I've ever seen. I was unlucky enough to catch it on TV when I was like 10 and I had nightmares about that opening scene with the mother and her baby for years afterwards.

I've never heard of this film before and I'm so disappointed because of it, but excited to watch it.

It delivers as a more horrifying, animated Codex Seraphinianus.

You also have to dilate (stick a dildo in) the vagina for a period of time after the surgery, to avoid the new hole from healing itself and closing up.
