RALF posted:Vergne has now officially split with Torro Rosso: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/116949 RB always takes the fastest qualifiers, which isn't suprising seeing how their top speed and overtaking is limited. Vergne isn't a good qualifier, although he deserves a seat somewhere still, as he's a fairly good racer. If not for the last race, I'd be saying for the love of god, get rid of Massa and put Button or Vergne in that Williams. Though it's still a good idea, I can't see Williams terminating Massa's contract as it is. Fo3 fucked around with this message at 17:37 on Nov 26, 2014 |

And of course 1976, where Lauda has his crash, and also bails out of the Japan race citing the wet weather is too dangerous, so losing the WDC to Hunt. Also the Hunt commentary years were good come to think of it. Also Williams! Any Aussie should check out TV channel 7mate, that's what I do when I can't sleep. At 4AM (and I think 11AM), they usually have a 1 hr show on a F1 year, followed by a 1 hr show on a driver*. Worthwhile if CBF downloading races or have insommnia. * not every night, and sometimes it's some crap not related to motorsports automotive show, like the other day was just about the lotus factory and car clubs. But 7mate have shown 1955-1980 something in repeat as far as I've noticed it over the past couple of years, as well and the driver docs covering all the 1950-1980s greats

Opel and vauxhall are the GM of Europe, and they are poo poo. VW are cheap everyday cars in Europe, and overpriced everywhere outside of Europe, so they are also poo poo. Like honda and rover, shame mitsubishi got in bed with chysler. Here in Aus, Mits started out by taking over old Chrysler plants, and inherited their stuff. Currently in our market they have the colt (not like the old one we all know and hate, but a honda jazz style car), lancer (not the old one, the upsized one that used to be the galant), vans/minivans, ute (triton), and 4x4 (pajero), used to have a medium/large family car (magna/380 - - ie camry type car), but that died. But I've never liked mits anyway... Some galants and evos were cool, but they seem never be quite as good as the competition in everything they did. Half arsed or not just 'there' so didn't pick up many fans compared to the rest. Not really sure why, it could be the chrysler connection as I said, could be they keep their old names about and brings a bad taste. Time for new names Mits! Here in Aus the old chrylser/mits sigma is one of the last cheap light 1980s RWD mobiles still somewhat available. People are eating that poo poo up and doing all sorts of v8 or other engine transplants into them for sleepers/fast drag cars. e: Of course they are only going for sigmas because all the toyotas, datsuns, mazdas, escorts, cortinas are now $15k+ cars and there's nothing left RWD as far as small/medium light cars. E: Some of the reasons why I hate them, severely dated in every way. I can't believe how long they kept around the death trap l300 van, also that van and lancers/mirages in the mid 1990s still running carbs instead of EFI. Gmaz posted:What good would the 3rd fast car bring? They couldn't even race each other in most teams, that's true for 2 drivers it would be even worse for the 3rd one. I'd rather see a backmarker trundling around then see Ferrari no. 3 being 1 second behind Ferrari no. 2 for all of the race. I agree, team orders often mean boring racing, we've just been lucky with RBR, Merc and mclaren recently, but in the recent past it meant boring racing. More teams are better, I loved the resurgence of williams, lotus/renault a couple of years ago, and even RB were brought up from the shambles of jaguar/stewart. If FOM spread more money around or the budget caps worked, then we're not stuck with manufacturers like ferrari or mercedes, or even what rb have become. I like the fact that mid pack teams such as sauber or jordan/FI exist because in some recent years they have produced good cars for certain tracks. e: it grows talent not just for drivers, but for developers/engineers/mechanics. Worst F1 would be a series just with ferrari, mclaren, rb, mercedes competing. Fo3 fucked around with this message at 20:50 on Feb 7, 2015 |

Ron doesn't want to blame the car, but the world doesn't want to see Alonso in a loser. Rather than talk about conspiracies, it's about time we all worked together to protect Alonso's legacy and stop him carrying on I think. #RIP ALONSO
