a bit of backstory: the cheese turtle is an ancient tradition among certain long island jews. supposedly it is a giant porcelain cheese platter in the shape of a turtle. it was crafted in some decade exemplified by a horrible design aesthetic. the long island jews pass the cheese turtle to each other upon marriage, as some kind of twisted gift. now the cheese turtle has fallen to us. |
