my brother has the pro-est desk. it's a bigass drafting table with a built-in Vemco V-Track drafting machine and motorized height adjustment. I don't know what the drafting machine actually does, but it looks important. In exchange, he doesn't get to sleep because he has to build models instead

I'm sure landlords would prefer you didn't but a couple nails here & there should be fine or use some of those 3m command strip things, one one each corner should support a small whiteboard just fine and they usually pull off the wall cleanly

my old apartment owners just asked me to patch up the holes with one of those ten dollar kits you get from lowes, then sent a guy round to dab some paint on it, didn't charge a dime

My desk has hydraulics and I make it wobble and jump when people walk by my office.
