I'm pretty sure they're fans of the Golden Age of WWF, the early to late 90s which culminated in amazing things like "He's broke in half bah gawd!" and Undertaker crucifying Stephanie McMahon in a bridal gown.

Eric's completely dry responses and non-practiced jokes (compared to the radio voice and timing of Steven) are the best things about WHM.

When I first started listening to WHM and didn't yet know what everyone looked like I envisioned Eric as a confused old man who wandered into the podcast.

I love Eric's dryness and weird jokes that he sneaks in under the door just before the subject is changed that causes someone (usually Jupin) to be like wait WHAT?

They all work so well together and mesh perfectly. I could listen to them riff on everything forever.

I appreciated that the return of Chris brought back other recurring bits like Little Critters, Jim Ross, and there's her boobers.

That's both totally true and makes me realize just how impressive the humor on this show is, because what you said is kind of like "Eric is a lot like Usain Bolt in that he runs so fast it looks like teleporting."

They could turn that one into comedy cause it was so ridiculous. I asked Sajdak on Twitter how much hate mail he gets after he made a jab at Trump and Trump supporters, he just said "Enough."

The problem for them is how do you make it funny without it being just DnD: Crazy Forwarded Emails

I kinda hope they read more just stupidly angry emails like the Batman one, because that was something we can all enjoy. It was so over the top it could well have been fake, but even if it was it was firmly in the 'you spent so long on this fake joke that it doesn't matter how unserious you were about it originally' side of things, and it was all just about being angry they didn't pick up on the finer points of a movie where a piss bomb murders congress.

Like, the racist/misogyny stuff would get just kinda unfunny and depressing fast, but surely they have plenty of turbonerd emails getting angry at them saying Mortal Kombat Apocalypse sucked.

The "Movieclips" channel on YouTube has a bunch of clips of the amazing parts of the movie, like the mom getting zapped, the kid getting dirt-biked, and the mom and fat kid getting nailed by the potato truck.

Ah it was a potato truck. So even then my only memory of the movie was shoddy. It definitely stayed with me though, more due to the fact I think it was the first movie I saw where a character the same age as me was killed off. I saw horror movies way too young.

Yeah, the first one was pretty solid, especially when Moranis and Frewer were on-screen. The kid stuff was whatever, certainly fine enough for the target audience.

The sequel was pretty rough if I remember right but it's been a long time. Definitely had a ton more "oh come ON, movie!" sort of moments.

They also had a THIRD straight-to-video movie that is like an hour long where Moranis shrinks himself. And then there was the TV show where it turns out there's a bunch of aliens controlling the world who designed the pyramid on the dollar bill :stonk:

I would love to hear the gang talk through the scene of Rick Moranis escorting a 7 foot toddler who is wearing a trench coat and fedora, as he explains to people that it's actually his foreign cousin and that's why he's babbling and walking into things. Also he has to keep the toddler happy because he is physically threatened by him.

Oh my god that was the only one I never saw (i saw the last 10 minutes on TV once as a 5 year old).

Reading the Wikipedia summary makes it sound as twisty a plot as Battlefield Earth.

Ha, I never noticed Honey We Shrunk Ourselves is only 74 minutes. That's not even a movie! Also, that's the one with an some how even younger looking Mila Kunis.
Why did I watch the two terrible sequels so many times?

I like the terrible gag when the giant baby runs down the Las Vegas strip to play with the neon guitar from the Hard Rock hotel because you can see the gag coming from a mile away but it doesn't make it any better. There's just so, so much wrong with that movie.

On a lark I watched Mortal Kombat Annihilation and Jupin was goddamn right that the main theme kicking in during the final battle pumps you the gently caress up and makes you forget all the things that happened previously
I do believe the movie was incredibly fun for what it was, though. Mortal Kombat is a game about people and robots and gods beating the poo poo out of each other for tenuous reasons and that happens in the movie all the time. CGI was inexcusably bad though.

One more thing, the EPCOT Honey I shrunk the Audience movie with Eric Idle. I saw it as a kid in the short time it coexisted with the no-Figment Eric Idle Journey into Imagination that was themed to match. It lasted until 2010 and it would have lasted longer had they not brought back Captain EO.

Honestly, Annihilation isn't that bad. It's technically incompetent, but it's still a fun watch.

It just gets utterly dunked on in every possible way by the original movie.
