That was a fantastic episode, I especially liked the Cookie Monster and slavery parts. I was so glad when Steve was naming his starting roster and got to four players, then there was a tangent, he made sure to finish the list and name his fifth player.

Also, ESPN's 30 for 30 did a fantastic short documentary parody on Space Jam that Warner Bros cooperated with, it's a nice chaser to the episode: https://screen.yahoo.com/30-30-space-jam-game-155008766.html

I'd watch a Dengar spinoff show.

The Star Trek episode was good, but it was baffling to hear the whole gang taking shots at DS9. Especially as they have strong knowledge about Next Generation and the original series, it was weird they seemed to attack DS9 based on the space station premise without seeming to have watched the show.

I wonder if the hosts were huge into Next Generation but didn't watch any of the following series, as they don't seem to mention Voyager or Enterprise. I mean it's fine to not like a show, but for Trek fans it's odd that it seems like they never watched one of the strongest series.

I did like when they were discussing a worse version of Mos Eisley and Eric slipped in "Mos Epsa." That was a deep cut.

That was a fantastic mailbag, best part was Eric being escorted by security to see Keeping the Faith, and the theater posting a guard outside to make sure he stayed in there.

Will be interesting to see what their Patreon looks like, might have animation damnation stretch goals or something.

TMNT 3 was an excellent episode, audio wasn't quite Jupiter Ascending quality but still fine. I liked the bits on the animatronic turtle heads, and the tangent about the entire cast being gunned down Godfather style.

(718) 925-3893. It was odd, in prior years it went to a voicemail with Steve (I think) saying to leave a message, but now it is a generic "leave a message". I double checked it was the right # from their Twitter.

I requested Overboard. A romantic comedy where slavery solves everything should be good for riffing. I was going to request Cat in the Hat, but I haven't actually seen it so I'm not sure if it would work.

For AD, I requested Real Ghostbusters "Ghost Busted" where they become vigilantes and crash a helicopter into the Empire State Building. Rewatching that cartoon, it must have been the only children's entertainment about budgeting. Instead of making "a lot of money!" they earn $30k or so for capturing criminals, which would be enough to keep the doors open. An oddly accurate continuation of the movie being about a small business.

For the Nexus I requested Tinker Tailor Doctor Spy for Voyager. A decent episode, with a strong intro and heavy on the Picardo. Plus I was worried everyone would be requesting Threshhold. I considered Future's End for the terrible time travel and Ed Begley Jr. cameo, and how they go to 1990s Los Angeles that is Eugenic Wars free (because why explore an interesting part of series lore when you can make jokes about hippies and Tuvok's ears). But it's a two-parter and I wasn't sure it they wanted that.

DS9 was tougher as that is legit one of my favorite shows. I considered Take Me Out to the Holodeck for the goofy baseball but that is kinda a dull episode, and Little Green Men has Quark heavy content, but that doesn't have the main cast doing a lot. I went with Trials and Tribble-ations, as the WHM crew seems to have a low opinion of DS9 (without having seen much) so I wanted to recommend a strong episode, and also because there is ton going on so it would have a lot of talking points.

The shows are still pretty good, but I wish they would go back to a three host rotating format. In my opinion some of the best episodes were pairing the high energy Andrew and Steve with Eric or Cabin. All four together works sometimes, but seems to make for a surface level "look at this stupid movie!" instead of a smaller group being able to develop wonderful tangents like Hamster Man.

Four hosts seems to slow momentum and make it harder to keep an alternate narrative going. Like the glorious "Dad making fat stacks in Japan" in The Good Son or detailed layout of Muldoons in Halloween III. Even two hosts works fine, like for the Ilsa episode or that one animation damnation.

Side note: the Volcano episode is pure gold. I wouldn't mind disaster expert Justin Case popping up on future episodes.

I felt the same way when Cabin first came back, but I think they've really gelled now. There's been a few bits lately, like Russel Rules and Cum Heist, that have been legendary.

Wilford Brimley terrorizing a rabbit and leading a caravan of surl is legendary. Jeremy botching up Trickster's shipping schedule is legendary. Going full-ninja in Pray for Death is legendary. Lambert reading the Mortal Kombat resort schedule is legendary. Those new bits were great, but we gotta give episodes time to breathe before inducting them into the legendary list.

Cabin is great, he was a critical part of Halloween III being one of their best episodes. Also fantastic on Secret Window, carefully breaking down why the movie doesn't work. But in my opinion his style suffers in a four host format as he doesn't have enough time to explain why a film is a failure from an expert perspective (his strength) and falls into trying to emulate Andrew or Steve's absurd characters, which isn't his strong suit.

One big exception to the four host set up is for On-Screens. The slower paced format works perfectly with the whole crew, especially for the Oscar previews as we get great discussion about good films and insight into the host's differing perspectives.
