COPS did one, too, where the cops and crooks joined up to defeat a bad guy called... ADDICTEM.

Addictem - A drug dealer who was selling Crystal Twists that were causing people to become addicted to them. He tried to join Big Boss' gang only to be denied since Big Boss does not do drug dealing. Because of Addictem spreading his Crystal Twist drugs across Empire City and Berserko falling into a Crystal Twist crate trying to steal the Mayan Gold, Big Boss and his gang had to team up with COPS to stop Addictem's drug ring. When Addictem was chased into the hospital and grabbed by Berserko, Addictem surrendered to COPS to evade getting beaten up by Berserko. Addictem was sentenced to life in prison and those who were affected by the Crystal Twists are recovering from them.

I don't even know how many shows did this during this era, but I can see the notion of maybe it happing if there were some sort of FCC request to put some anti-drug story in cartoons they couldn't have their long-standing 'baddies' be drug dealers. So, create some throwaway characters that show that drugs are so bad that not even COBRA or the school bully will touch them...

I don't really think any of the shows that appeared in Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue had a very special drug awareness episode of their own shows running around that time.

maybe Big boss is more of a Vito Corleone type. drugs are bad for business and it always backfires and starts unnecessary inter criminal gang wars and it brings you into the sights of the DEA and other feds. gently caress i though about that too hard.

I would like robocop 3 because its honestly the worst robocop movie(yes counting the reboot, it has its issues, but i think it does some stuff ok) and mercury rising because its basically bruce willis shackled to an annoying autistic kid the entire movie because alec baldwin thinks he might know goverment secrets and is trying to kill him

Still funnier than the one about Scooby-Doo taking place after an apocalyptic recession which is why there are so many spooky abandoned buildings and they all live in a van and acquiring property is so important to the villains. Or the one about how Ed Edd n' Eddy takes place in purgatory because there are no adults and the kids all seem to come fom different cultures and eras.

They get less detailed as the series goes along, as even the obsessive stopped caring. But now I know that both the first and second movies are based on Goethe, are examples of Christian socialism, and Harry Dean Stanton is Brave Heart Lion's singing voice in the first one.

I now want them to do the other care bears movies. and brave heart lion needs to be a continued character in WHM canon.

Once again, I never noticed how weird it is. That out of nowhere song about the Fourth of July had me confuse January First and July Fourth for ages. I was so happy when you pointed out how every single character is a garbage person for laughing and making fun of a baby. Rudolph isn't entirely awful, but the poor deer is so broken from likewise being bullied since the day he was born that his advice to Baby New Year is basically to just deal with it. drat, this special is depressing. But you absolutely do need to tackle "Christmas in July" and "Mad Monster Party", they might be even crazier.

I actually remember rudolph and frosty's christmas in july alot more. watching it now, its surprising how dark some of the themes are and yet how stupid the baddie in it is. its talks about concepts of things not lasting forever and the villain has retard complex scheme to take over something. and then their is like a Blackgate prison for hosed up christmas animals and it involves a peter lorre looking reindeer.

-team up with the Blue Falcon, which is played as a Frank Miller-style vigilante.
-meet Harlan Ellison, voiced by himself. Also an H.P. Lovecraft analog voiced by Jeffrey Combs
-visit the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks, complete with Michael J. Anderson having a role
-had Patrick Warburton in a recurring role as the town sheriff. At one point he summons some Cenobites by accident after solving a puzzle cube.
-Built a Cabin In The Woods-esque mythology out of the Hanna-Barbera formula of groups of teenagers with wacky mascots solving mysteries, which led to crossovers with everything from Jabberjaw to Funky Phantom and culminated in the series villain being the predecessor to Scooby-Doo, an owl voiced by Udo Kier.

It kind of reminds me of the Marvel Netflix stuff, where it's a lot more just grounded (For a comic book movie). I also think that making his girlfriend be as filthy and as funny as him was refreshing (Even the damsel in distress stuff doesn't hold seeing as she gets herself out of it) but they seemed to take it as nerd pandering.

I do agree the villain was a whole lot of nothing though, and if it's going to be that bland then just get someone who can bring some personality to the table.
