drat you thread, now I'm addicted to this podcast. The Raiden as hotel-amenities-guide gag had me practically choking. And they pointed out the similarity to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog at the same time I noticed it, too. Goddamn.

It's funny, I literally listened to the Spawn episode right before Dragonheart. After Spawn, I wondered if that guy's live podcast was still on, and 3 years later the newest episode answered it for me. And apparently Steven's brother is on that show. Mark and the other guy sound way way more New York than Steven does, it was kind of funny.

On the long ride back from Vegas, I introduced my friends to the Mortal Kombat and TMNT II Episodes. Everybody was losing it when Raiden started describing the resort amenities.

Nothing will top Mortal Kombat for me. But Abraxis is a damned close one. Which episode had the constant tangent of Louis Anderson and his love for cat food? That one was hilarious and absolutely had nothing to do with the movie.

well why not posted:Animation wise: The 2003-05 Clone Wars series is the exact opposite of boring and slow. They were all 3-12 minutes shorts that were more or less ridiculous action sequences. I haven't seen them in years but I really enjoyed them at the time. I'm guessing they'll do a spiel about Return of the Jedi, emphasizing the special edition terribleness.

I found WHM because of this thread, actually. My commute got longer and I just so happened to find this right as I needed a new podcast to fill the drive time. I believe I listened to Mortal Kombat and Ghostbusters 2 first. And MK is still my favorite, probably. But these guys "get" my sense of humor pretty well, so I love listening to them.

My mom used to spend hours playing Snood on the family PC back in the day. I hadn't thought about that game in like 15 years. Now I can only hear the name in Jesse Ventura's voice. Goddamn I love that impression.

We had free periods in my high school. I also knew a prolific prankster who would always turn our church mission trips into shaving cream and saran wrap-covered chaos. My favorites are probably Mortal Kombat, Abraxas, and Brainscan.

They also were way too willing to sell out poor Bucky. Come on guys, he was tortured and brainwashed!

I love that their Gallagher impression is based on the WTF interview. It took me a second to figure out why Gallagher was yelling at "Mark". For those of you who might not know, Gallagher had an amazing meltdown on the WTF podcast several years ago. Seek it out, it's pretty great.

well why not posted:DOA is from 2006. We were meant to have known better. A couple of my friends said DOA was their favorite movie of that year. Yeah, the first time he was doing an impression of Hulk Hogan drinking ANTIFREEZE and it got a bit messy. The second time was an honest to god spit take that went pretty far into the audience. I think paying to watch the recording is worth it, I loved seeing their faces during their bits. Andrew gets pretty intense doing his Lloyd impression. I wasn't going to buy a poster until Eric's wife told me he'd sign it right on his characters codpiece, so I had to ask that point. The guys were really nice and I chatted with each one of them for a bit. Both shows were hilarious. It was a great night all around.

Marc's a good interviewer who can often get some really interesting and candid backstory out of people. I only listen to WTF if I'm interested in learning more about the guest, but when the interview is good it's really good. That said, his front-loaded neurotic rants at the beginning of every episode are extremely skippable. I've realized that the thing I like most about WHM, as others have said, is that these guys are my age with many of the same interests and a similar sense of humor. Listening to them reminds me of a much funnier version of the nerdy conversations I'd have with friends in film school. In some ways it's like hanging out and joking with old friends.

Trying to keep up with it was such a time sink and I always kind of hated myself for being into at my age in the first place. Also, apparently The Man Trap was actually like the 4th produced episode of Star Trek, but they opted to air it first, which is why the obvious second pilot "Where No Man Has Gone Before" is episode four and features completely different costumes from the rest of the series. Must have been super confusing to viewers back then, and I'm sure the guys will be talking all about that.

My dad and I went to see Starship Troopers and were running late. We sat down and the movie had already started. It was right in the thick as a big action scene started, and it really felt like "wow, these characters all know each other really well...". 15 minutes later the movie was over. The usher sent us to the wrong screening. We saw the end of Starship Troopers before we saw the first 4/5ths of it. Certainly an odd way to experience a movie for the first time.
