It's that time of the year again! A video game awards show hosted by the Dorito Pope himself, Geoff Keighley. The man is just radiating with charisma as usual. This year he's paying for the awards show out of his own pocket so no doubt he will be hands on with everything leading up to the special guests and whatnot. So no, we will probably not a get a double take of last year's hilarious debacle with Joel McHale basically no-selling the entire show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1OGexjaP1U If you're not here for the amazing trainwreck and spectacle sport this always turns out to be you're for the most, important thing that there can be right? The awards. That's right video games have come such a long way as an art form and we are here to witness a forum of men decide I'm just kidding, of course you're here for the new video game trailers the awards are loving stupid. There has been nonstop talk of new trailers, world premieres, and no doubt someone is going to demo their game awkwardly. So what do we know about so far? Games we know about so far! Metal Gear Solid Online & maybe MGS5 Bloodborne The Order: 1886 New King's Quest No Man's Sky And more possibly... maybe... sure. Xbox marketing heads have already confirmed there are no Xbox games being debuted at this show and the Playstation Experience which is immediately following up the game awards will probably have all of the cool new game debuts. Okay, here are the awards, more Nintendo games are on them this year and none of them will win especially not Bayo 2. Game of the Year: Bayonetta 2 Dark Souls II Dragon Age: Inquisition Hearthstone Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Best Independent Game: Broken Age - Act 1 Monument Valley Shovel Knight Transistor The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Best Narrative: South Park: The Stick of Truth The Walking Dead -- Season 2 The Wolf Among Us Valiant Hearts: The Great War Wolfenstein: The New Order Best Performance: Adam Harrington as Bigby Wolf -- The Wolf Among Us Kevin Spacey as Jonathan Irons -- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Melissa Hutchinson as Clementine -- The Walking Dead -- Season 2 Trey Parker as various voices -- South Park: The Stick of Truth Troy Baker as Talion -- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Best Remaster: Grand Theft Auto V Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire The Last of Us Remastered The Master Chief Collection Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Best Action/Adventure: Alien: Isolation Assassin's Creed Unity Bayonetta 2 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Sunset Overdrive Best Fighting Game: Killer Instinct: Season 2 Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Super Smash Bros. 3DS Super Smash Bros. These shows are without fail massive embarrassments and the awards are a joke and literally no one at these things is worth listening to. Summary done.

Looking up to be more of a boring trainwreck, rather than the entertaining trainwreck it was last year. I guess Geoff Keighley really believes in awards shows

Bumping this up because it will start in 1 hour . Streaming links given by the official site: Twitch link, already with around YouTube link There is also an "interactive stream" on this page, whatever that entails. Other ways to watch, according to them: Xbox Live ("look for the link on the dashboard about an hour before the show" says majornelsen.com) PSN, through Live Events Viewer app (It's the icon with the comic UFC fighters under PS4 apps, you'll need to order the free event before viewing it) WiiU ("You can use the Internet Browser on your Wii U console to link to the livestream at https://www.twitch.tv/thegameawards" says nintendo.com) Steam (along with sale on some of the nominated games) IGN (might be different link when it starts) Polygon (same as YouTube stream), summary page Gamespot (might be different link when it starts) Kotaku, no link yet niconico (only viewable with account, also has BS premium member priority for high number of viewers) MLG, no link anywhere that I could see ---------- Some things: Street Fighter V for PS4 and PC was leaked out this morning. It might have been this guy's fault. That's a joke, who knows how it leaked out. Fallout 4 won't be announced, nor any other new game from Bethesda. So says a guy from Bethesda. The trademark for Dragon's Dogma Online was found registered in Europe and could be revealed here. There might be a Bad Rats 2. Or this could be a joke video from the devs. Yechezkel fucked around with this message at 01:57 on Dec 6, 2014 |

So is Geoff funding a big party to announce of all his favorite games of the year, or do viewers get to vote and awards are given based on that

So what video game characters do you think Doritos Pope will canonize this year? I'm betting on Aiden Pierce and his iconic hat.

I hope Jeff Gerstmann wins the trendy gamer award because he sent in a note with his vote sheet that says he thought about nominating himself 5 times as a joke and he ended up nominated.

looking at the nominees list really showcases just how lovely this year has been for games. the main award should be for biggest disappointment of the year between games like destiny, assassins creed, halo and driveclub etc nobody takes the show seriously so might as well use it to rag on incompetent developers/publishers and maybe gain some notoriety

I just realized there is a real category for "Best Remaster". Why not just put in "Best game that made lots of money" and "Game with most explosions and/or boobies" while they're at it.
