Forget video games, doofus is calling 35mm photography a fad. You know the film/camera format that dominated the industry until digital finally got good enough somewhere around 2006.

Looking through my Google ad profile I get the distinct impression Youtube is a much more valuable tool in harvesting data than search history. It knows what kind of games I like, what car I drive, what pets I have and a whole lot of other miscellaneous things I like. Meanwhile all the things I can pinpoint to search data are obviously useless for advertising purposes, like oh yeah I'm a huge exchange rate enthusiast because I google what X sum in euros is in USD a couple times a week.

Also it thinks I'm into 'golf equipment' which I can only assume is it being confused about me looking at the Volkswagen Golf.

I've never watched Yu Gi Oh in my life. Someone explain to me how you can have a show about people playing a card game. Like, I'm using Magic as a substitute in my head and it sounds ridiculous. Do the cards come to life and stomp around or something?

Yeah they come to life and there's a lot of yelling. It's goofy as poo poo but in a fun way.

This playlist showcases the show's tone nicely.

Also you need to watch some Kaiji or Kakegurui or something if you want to see some an intense animated card game, that stuff's ridiculously entertaining.

Except for the times they're not, like the episode where they load a monster into another monster's crossbow to destroy a specific card's weak spot and drop it on top of the others, wiping out an unbeatable army

Or the episode where a big monster punches the moon in order to make the tide go out and instant kill a bunch of fish monsters

It's incredibly goofy in a not good way

Or the guy who's like I PLAY COOLGUY FIGHTMAN, THERE'S ONLY ONE OF THESE MONSTERS THE WORLD! then takes three steps forward onto the field and goes BECAUSE I AM COOLGUY FIGHTMAN!

Goofy and not in a good way is basically my aesthetic.

Papa NiER had some DLC involving Brother Nier anyway. I mostly remember it from The Dark Id's LP.

The way I remember it the DLC was the same for both versions of the game and just happened to have Yung Nier without any real context or plot relevance but it's been a decade. It was basically a bunch of hard combat trials (which kind of made the combat system finally tick in a way the main game never quite did).

For real? Put that up on the scoreboard with The Matrix and Born in the USA

That JC Denton with swimming goggles avatar has overtaken the cool baby flipping the bird as the profile pic of choice for people you should probably just put on ignore immediately.

I agree the image is wet dogshit but it's still interesting how people will read whatever they want in their media, like how there's tons of conservative Star Trek fans who just see a strong military organization defending the interests of mankind throughout the galaxy and gloss over all the socialism.

Trademarking a notoriously family-friendly image-conscious company's IP and then working in the "adult entertainment industry", what could possibly go wrong.

Zelda.com was originally a porn site and Nintendo didn't get their hands on the domain until 2000. Archive.org still has some captures of it from '98 and '99.

Ocarina of Time was out at that point and everything so it's not like it was some backburner IP at the time either. iirc they tried courts and were told to take a hike because Zelda was a name long before they printed it onto a cartridge label and they ended up just paying the porn site people an undisclosed sum of money.

That thing stuff like 7-Up does where the default version has a bunch of artificial sweeteners just kills a drink for me. I'm an adult with a working sense of restraint on this one issue, I want a can of sugary carbonated water maybe once every three weeks, get the gently caress out of here with this hairspray tasting lab experiment, how dare you try and sell this as if it's the real thing and not the sad placebo version.
