Sober posted:How bad are we talking, True Blood bad or Dexter levels of shittiness? I gave up True Blood in like S2 so I don't know, and I've only read about what happened in Dexter because it became so predictable and lovely after S4. The best way I can describe it is that if you watched any amount of SoA, even an isolated episode or two, and then tuned in the finale I guarantee you would think "wow, this show really took a bad turn. Why are we now being bludgeoned with incredibly literal symbolism with every shot?" This would also be your reaction if you watched the entire series up to that point. It's like the finale (which was nearly two hours long) was the film entitled "Sons of Anarchy" that Kurt Sutter always wanted to make but needed 7 seasons of television to justify its existence, except it really didn't because so much of the build didn't really amount to anything compelling beyond misery porn for all of the characters, nearly all of whom were terrible people. Also it's a complete hack job of a film filled with all-too-convenient timing and a complete disregard for how the world works in real life (which isn't as much of a problem when you're not trying to tell a gritty, "realistic" story but welp) and a cringe-worthy ending scene that had been obviously telegraphed from nearly the beginning of the series. One scene in particular involves a wanted known violent felon walking into a district attorney's office and having her turn on a recording device, state the date and make it official (notably by taking pains to use the real names of the people involved). He then proceeds to give 5 minutes of pure hearsay and strongly implicate himself in a double murder. He then walks out of the office without incident. It's that kind of party. So yeah closer to Dexter from what I know. xeria posted:Or, alternately, Season 6 of The L Word levels of embarrassing. Personally I think that goes to Sex and the City but L Word definitely comes close in its waning seasons.

L Word's 'interrogation tapes' web clips post-S6 probably take the cake for "most embarrassing anything to watch, ever". Marvel as they turn a police interrogation into murder into Lucy Lawless's Therapy Sessions!

Ah, I totally forgot that Sundance's The Red Road aired in 2014. I should have added that because it was actually really good, just really short though.

After episode 7 it would have cracked my top 10 for sure. After finishing the whole series, eh....maybe the top 20.
