that's disappointing. i've seen bits and pieces of gurenn lagann on adult swim and it looked kind of interesting.
GL is actually pretty darn good but it's bogged down by a 10 or so episode stretch in the middle that just didn't need to be there.

Some people swear by Gurren Lagann. I wouldn't say it was bad, but KLK definitely was. For you to say GL is bad, though, what anime is good? I loved Cowboy Bebop but its not like its art or themes were so much more clever or interesting.

I like black lagoon because it had a premise that wasnt poo poo that had been rehashed 1000 times already, and also is obviously a weird homage to action films but with minorities.
I'd rate it 8 or 9 out of 10 on the weighted anime scale of goodness: "normal person will come in with no background and enjoy it on it's own merits".
