With Christmas dead and safely buried for another year it's time for the greatest late Christmas gift of all, another SpliceTube! Bart Thinking When prodded Bart proves to have a lot of strange thoughts about a number of different subjects, including but certainly not limited to the following: Mopeds White Privilege Oscilloscopes Etc  Just Gross as Hell Nasty poo poo As usual the SpliceTube template will quickly make an url from input variables, this one takes v=[video 1 ID] ts=[video 1 time start in seconds] v2=[video 2 ID] ts2=[video 2 time start in seconds] clip1=[length of time first video plays in seconds] clip2=[length of time in seconds (plus some frames) before Bart's frown becomes a smile]. So this takes two videos, which seems to work hunky-dory but if anybody has issues don't hesitate to post them. I think it can possibly bug out if the first video reloads at just the right time and the youtube stream buffering period is freakishly long, but if that's actually something that can happen it should be pretty rare. As templates SpliceTubes are totally at the mercy of the content that the user includes with them. I do my best to make solid edits with a high technical execution, and to provide enough options that people don't feel constrained against an idea that feels like it should be possible, but it's up to people to find the really spot on concepts. That being said I plan to do a lot of these and I'm all for weird clips and super strange youtube integration along the lines of your suggestion (hell maybe I'll do it at some point). There's a lot of neat implementations I haven't even begun to touch and an increasing list of ideas I want to go after. However it takes a large chunk of generally very tedious time editing and putting each of these together, so I do want to go after targets that are a little less esoteric and have both interesting uses and some general preexisting appeal at the moment.

Yeah, not to diss it. It's a fantastic idea. I understand why you've (so far) gone with templates that work with pretty much anything, but I think they'll overall get funnier when there are more options.

What would be great would be uploading a template .fla and a tutorial on how to make your own. It would be pretty cool to have some mechanism for user submissions (and, I think, necessary for this to "take off" with the youtube/meme kids, if that's what you're going for.)

I think the best stuff is going to come from things like Bart Thinking where the user can choose two clips to juxtapose with each other, rather than choosing one clip to juxtapose with your splice. There's a lot more scope for creativity there.
