cain got nerfed big time in rebirth. his starting item provides little luck, so he's basically a less tanky purist isaac.

however, in the original, itw as all about cain. "gently caress judas, I got the slots" I used to tell myself. then rebirth came down like a hurricane.

it's a minor detail, but cain's having one eye provides some small advantages/disadvantages that i find appealing. his stats are a bit better than isaac's acording to the wiki and despite the in game hud

azazel is my go-to fun character.
one time i got azazel with ludovico technique and it kicked rear end but then i randomed and ended up with some kind of lovely quad shot and bob's brain and it sucked.
quad shot or any shot multiplier is crap for azy coz it slows his charge time.

god drat do I hate the ludovico thing. the only time its not completely useless is if the level's full of big slow-moving enemies including the boss.

if you're azy it literally creates just a red circle that you can put around yourself and it kills everything instantly because its made of azazels tears.

the gnawed leaf, you have to stand completely still without shooting for a second or two and then it starts working. its really useful when you have items like the meat cube or gemini or whatever
