That's a lot of stuff to watch. Good luck, and keep us updated on how you find everything now. I know my opinions changed a lot when I rewatched everything that existed at the time when I was 19...and that was 12 years ago at this point, so there was a lot less to watch.

I don't think the guy considering watching multiple 50+ episode anime series needs to worry about that

Fair point. Speaking of which, is the May DVD release a worldwide thing or just for Japan?

Probably the coolest part of all that, the Liberator Impmon gets a brand-new evolution line clearly based on Guilmon's.

Site’s been overloaded since the comic dropped and has crashed at least once so it may be later in the day before they fix the access to the site.

Oh, does it get any better then?

Anyway, finally got a chance to read Liberator. Digimon meets SAO is not what I was expecting but it seems interesting enough (the site reader loving sucks though)

Have they said anything about an update schedule for this comic yet?

I'm sure this comic would be enjoyable if it loaded. As it is the site is unusable, any attempts at reading either crash immediately or take ages to load a single page of way too many.

Dreamers didn't have these issues. I can only hope it's still overloaded and this won't become a consistent issue, because otherwise I really hope someone takes the work to rehost the comics somewhere else. I know the Chinese community's already doing it.

I'm pretty sure the servers are just getting slammed. It was the same when they released chapter 0, and this morning, even the main digica website was struggling.

Anyway, I really enjoyed that first chapter. It hit all the beats I was expecting it to in a really exciting way, and it was a pretty decent length, too. I'm excited to read more of it, hopefully the servers are more stable when future chapters release.

I finished reading it, after chunking through about a half hour total of loading for the whole thing. The fact the comic is comprised of about 200+ tiny little images and the servers CLEARLY not being equipped to handle anything like it made the experience painful.

Gonna be honest, if the whole thing was allowed to flow I think I would have liked it, but that's not possible now.

Larryb
Oct 5, 2010

Yeah, that was tedious to scroll through (and images only seemed to load when you scrolled to them and slowly at that). I don’t understand why they have to make the site extra flashy like this as opposed to something like the Dreamers website which was way more user friendly

Hope someone uploads the comics elsewhere because this is going to be a pain in the rear end to keep reading if they don’t do something about the interface (which is a shame because the comic itself seems pretty decent so far)

Yeah, idk if its an anti piiracy measure or just broke code, but I hope Bandai recognizes that this needs to change. They at least addressed the initial hammering of the servers, so I'm hoping they'll be receptive and patch things before the next update.

Welp, there's our answer.

Well that's stupid and needs to change ASAP, Bandai seems to have a bad habit of shooting themselves in the foot

We know Zenith will have a presence in both stories, and it's about bug testers investigating the odd turns the game is taking. Unsure of any other crossover. Chapters come every 3 months, so it'll probably be both more robust in length and better translated than Seekers. But we won't know til a chapter comes.

The novel happens alongside the comic, but follows the perspective of Yuuki, a member of Liberator's debug team, and her Partner Digimon Impmon. I'll just post the summary from the Twitter account now:

https://twitter.com/digimon_tcg_EN/status/1783468683328700475

quote:

Digimon Liberator has a debug team tasked with resolving internal problems in the game.

Digimon Liberator, the immersive card game developed by I.D.E.A. contains a supposedly unimplemented feature that was discovered during the beta test. This is the presence of wild Digimon that hadn’t been made into cards. For what purpose did they exist, and why did they cause an influx of errors in the game?

To investigate and resolve this problem, and to convert all Digimon into cards, I.D.E.A. formed the debug team by inviting certain players into it. Yuuki, a player involved in the game since the beta, her partner Impmon, and the other members of the debug team pursue the mysteries of this world.

——This is a story about Digimon, and of the world.

About how well translated it is, it's impossible to know so far because we haven't gotten a single chapter yet. I imagine it'll be a rough machine translation too while the manga gets a more proper translation like Dreamers did, but I hope I'm wrong, the DCG moves enough money that having an actual translator wouldn't be that surprising.

Beyond that, they actually listened to the complaints about how poorly the site loaded and uploaded Chapters 0 and 1 into a new site that loads properly. If anyone didn't read it yet, I definitely suggest doing it here instead: https://globalcomix.com/c/digimon-liberator

The plan seems to be release on their site Thursdays, Global and Webtoon Fridays. I'm wondering if this means they're going to improve their website to make seeing it the day earlier worth it.
