My favorite PTSD story is a junior officer in the navy who to PTSD on his non-deploying ship because his CO yelled at him a bunch for doing lovely on paperwork. Like dude is loving medically retired. I won't deny that he had a nervous breakdown because he absolutely did, but he certainly brought almost all of the pain on himself. A few posters here might actually know the guy, too, from also being on Hawaii ships.

One of my old roommates is heading off to his senior O3, junior O4 tours in a year or so. His initial reaction to me telling him ensign so and so was getting a PTSD discharge was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Now, I'm not going to say he's some lone anomaly. The command climate on that ship was horrible and even caused an O-4 to lose his drat mind. This was a place where one of the ensigns would write tattletale notes and drop them in the CO's suggestion box on the other JOs. Like she'd write up if someone was late to work and anonymously rat them out. Either way, though, he was still the most junior of officers on a ship that didn't deploy and still loving broke mentally like few people I've ever seen.

One of my classes was canceled so I left to come home early. As I'm driving down the road I get plowed into by some woman running a red light and spin into another car. Might have some bruised ribs. Sitting at the ER now. She said she was cleaning her glasses. She was probably dicking around on her phone.

Nah I sold the metro forever ago. This did probably total my mountaineer, though. It was crazy how fast it happened considering I was just going 30. She hit me and I hit another car in my spinning through the intersection. I didn't even know about the second hit until after I got out of my truck.

Just found out about a pretty sweet program called auto rx. Instead of having to deal with waiting hours at the VA clinic for them to hem and haw about for hours while they figure out if they want to fill the prescription from the ER, I was able to give my auto insurance info to the people at CVS and get them in minutes.

Well, still have constant headache and I can't turn my neck to the left much without hurting, but my lawyer thinks we have a solid case to recover a decent chunk of change, so that's good. He's got me going to actual doctors instead of the VA that will all just bill the auto insurance, so that's good. Getting a nice check for my truck next week, though.

He also talked about this in his diary and all the hitmen were undercover cops.
