My preferred method for catching up on what I missed is looking up the event on archive.org and then just youtubing "SGDQ 2014 Blasto" or whatever.

If you want to catch up during the marathon there's usually a reddit link that goes up right away with very organized and up to date timestamped links to the twitch VODS as they go up. Hopefully that can be added to the OP whenever it's created.

Supposedly that's just in because of Team Liquid bux getting drawn in during that time.

The best moment of last year was the TAS stuff though.

Nope, super metroid race was pretty much the most incredible thing I've ever seen on a stream- you couldn't even intentionally fix that to be any more compelling or exciting. Fantastic espn commentary from sinister and duckfist(?) too.

I just hope this year that the "setting up for next game" splash screen, you know, says what game is being set up.

The sound balancing with the applause seems much, much better balanced this time around. Previous years I had my sound cranked all the way up wherever I was watching to hear people speak, then an applause break/big laugh would make my head explode.

Lol that is easily the douchiest part of that entire thing. I've never really given a poo poo about the actual 'scandal' since they're all adults and made their own decisions, whatever, but lmfao he banged with a dude's wife then took to a public forum to smugly lecture him on what a great a catch she is. :( Just looked at the schedule and I'm disappointed Bonesaw isn't running anything this year. Him kicking off AGDQ14 with that Jak & Daxter run, a game I don't know anything about, was one of the most enjoyable runs of that year and I actually went back and watched it a second time last year :v:

Some of you sound really selfish. The point of donation readings is not for the viewer's personal entertainment. If you don't understand why the readings may drive a person that is a surviving family member of somebody affected/killed by the disease to donate money and leave message about what circumstances lead them to donate then I don't know what to tell you other than you are probably an rear end in a top hat.

I'm not at all against people donating because they have a personal stake in the cause; that's great and fine and fantastic. My concern is what was alluded to about people lying about losses in order to get their 20 seconds of internet fame, and the surprising number of people who have suffered losses in the last month week moments before or so that have been read on stream. And from a production standpoint, it's incredibly jarring to go from "Someone I love very much died from cancer, and it was a grievous loss" to some silly and happy video game, with no way to transition from one to the other.
Everything you just complained about is nonsense. Anyone who has any real problems with anything you just said about getting their feelings hurt about cancer stories could be solved by deciding not to watch a cancer research charity drive.
