a mgs set in ww2 would give kojima new and exciting ways to constantly shoehorn in references to japanese ww2 fighter planes maybe just make it a ww2 fighter plane sim set in the pacific front, but sometimes you fight a boss plane with dr octopus tentacles or whatever. and then hear about its tragic bakcstory at the plane factory

Most of the VA is better but Snake is worse. It's also easier because they didn't really change any part of the game, they just imported it into MGS2's engine. The cutscenes were re-done by some action movie director so they're ridiculous at points. It's still a fun MGS game so who cares.

the actual issue with twin snakes is that it's really easy in a really boring way because MGS1 levels weren't made with MGS2 controls in mind (and then they also just made parts way easier for no reason). also, the MGS2 controls were very specifically made with a dualshock in mind and trying to translate that to a gamecube controller results in a lot of awkwardness the translation being worse, everyone sounding bored and the wacky cutscenes are just the icing on the cake for why twin snakes is not good
