Welcome to the competitive League of Legends thread for the Spring 2015 Season, and beyond! If you haven't been keeping up lately, this is a good place to start. The North America and European regions have expanded to a total of 10 teams, along with a new points system to ensure a more streamlined path into World's. Riot has also brought the other two major regions, Korea and China closer under it's umbrella and is now broadcasting the Chinese LPL and Korean OGN on their Twitch.TV channel for free. No longer will the mysterious Chinese land of pandas be shrouded in mist. Here's the starting dates for every region: Korean Champions: In Progress (Games played every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday night.) China LPL: January 16th EU LCS: January 22nd NA LCS: January 24th Before we get into all the major team and region changes, here are some important links to bookmark for the new season: Abios Gaming: Spiritual successor to eSportsCalendar. Tells you when competitive matches are going to be played, as a bonus lets you know about other competitive games and high viewer streams of professional players. eSportsPedia: Actual successor to Leaguepedia when all the original staff left that site and formed this one. Encyclopedia of Professional League Knowledge. LoL eSports: Riot's official site for Competitive Play. Reddit: LoL Event Vods: The very best place to get spoiler free VoD of competitive games, updated minutes after they finish, especially good for any games played out of your time zone. Tumblr: OGN Builds: A guy who is dedicated to syndicating in English the rune and mastery pages from Korean competitive matches which are posted online in Korean [1] [2] Are you looking for the main League of Legends discussion thread? Fantasy LCS starts sometime this week, which means we need to start gathering up people for Leagues. If nothing's changed, if you're not there for a draft the CPU will automatically pick a player for you. It's usually really good, and goes for statistically the best player available at the time, but sometimes does silly stuff like drafts you first round Gleeb because his projected stats are great. I'm gathering players for a high-stakes League where the winner will get a Mystery Gift from every single participant. 7 Mystery Gifts. Quite a hefty load there, it also makes your players' performance mean a whole lot now that you have something riding on it. We had a fantasy topic last year, but after the season started it was largely abandoned until the end of the split. People suggested it because of the spam that people crying about how much Krepo let you down would flood the GDT but it wasn't that bad, so until we have people complaining we'll just play in here. Libertine posted:Nice work. My only recommendation would be changing the forums tag to Event or Video instead of Let's Play. I'm not sure which is the standard for watching threads, but I'm pretty sure it's one of those two. Other than Zionspartan being spelled incorrectly I'll probably go back and update some of the quick team bios, and link to the official bios that Riot uses. Thought about putting team icons in there too but I'd hit the image limit way too fast and I don't have the OCD to paste it all into photoshop and make one, nice image. I'm not good at Desktop publishing.

Digital Jedi posted:As someone that hasn't followed anything League since the end of the season all the team roster changes in OP are fantastic! I had no clue that many roster changes happened. Most of the players left Korea because they were getting offers much, much, much higher than what they'd be making in Korea + retaining the ability to stream solo queue and practice a whole lot less. Korea has the best infrastructure but apparently has the worst payout of any region. They're taking steps to fix this though, OGN is giving out large amounts of money to MVP players each week, all season long, and the teams are getting paid a much better salary + payout from winning splits than before. Doa and Monte keep calling this "Korea 2.0" which is entirely true. There's a few teams that are mostly unchanged, but almost every single big star left the region, except for Faker. As far as the story in NA goes, teams are filling up with old players who "retired" for a while, like the former Curse Academy, and filling in the gaps with players who might have been temporary or substitutes on teams like CLG that never would have had a shot on those teams. Europe is filling up with new talent all the time, teams like Compenhagen Wolves seem to pick up great players all the time, only to have them taken by another team or region. I'll never be able to say Alliance's new team name without thinking of Elementz

rabidsquid posted:Being able to sub during BO3 has made OGN quite a bit more interesting to me, although we haven't seen any teams with rosters who can really take advantage of it so far or need to. Other than the weird SKT pocket pick where they get way too confident and then bench the mid for no reason. That has been very next level.

At the beginning of Season 3, Regi and Dyrus "traded" roles, and Regi was "top" so he could control the bans, although neither player left their traditional lanes. I don't think there's anything stopping players from doing this.

Unfortunately spoiled by the length of the VOD for Samsung vs G.E., but Samsung still remains my favorite team to watch. If the coaching staff can get them under control and working together better they could be a great team in the Summer split. I'll be available for the 5pm draft, as far as I know, right now.

I stopped rooting for CJ Entus for the first time since Season 2 World's this season because they've been pretty mediocre at best. Now they're 4-0. What is life.

League of Mystery is drafting in an hour and a half, hopefully we don't end up with over half the league auto-drafting. If we go through the first round and there's less than four of us, I say we let the CPU auto draft everything else so it isn't totally unfair. I don't want to end up with over half our league ending up with auto-drafts because of the weird scheduling we had.

The great thing about picking all Korean players: Very high individual skill, will probably win their lanes in most cases Awful thing about picking all Korean players: Three of my players are going to be missing the first week of LCS

I just grabbed Reignover for fantasy because apparently I put my eggs in the wrong Korean Hype basket. This is only one game, but Steelback has a score of 4/0/12, and having a no-death ADC on an AD that doesn't have some kind of dash or self peel is really loving impressive. e: lmao at Huni using an ability to get over the gate he could have just walked through. mushi posted:Also why did Alliance change names? This poo poo is confusing enough, and then they picked a name that keeps making me think of a support who got relegated to obscurity like two years ago. And now Curse and Curse academy are different team names too. Curse (The company) wanted to sponsor multiple teams through Curse Voice, so their E-Sports division split off and merged with Liquid (The owner of Team Curse) to form Team Liquid Curse Academy had to be sold off because no one organization can own multiple teams in the LCS, so they were rebranded too. Team Liquid has another little sister Challenger team, Liquid Academy.
