Jasa - The Tiny Lift, The Spire, he Ancient Underground City/Ruins

"I'm not sure this plane has a surface. If that makes sense. It might have been part of some reality at some time but it isn't now. Digging out might send you off into space or the ether or whatever is outside of this little bubble of reality." She shrugs as the lift stops. "Feel free to look around, I haven't found anything yet." The doors open and she steps into one of the branching hallways. "Good luck, I suppose. As for me, I'm going to rest before contemplating this hopeless situation." She begins walking off.

Any of you can still catch up before she's gone, if you want.

"AAAH! POWER! ITEM OF POWER! I WANT SOMETHING OF POWER OF MY CHOICE! I Don't know what it looks like or what form it takes, but I'll know it when I see it! THAT! GIVE ME THAT! ALSO DON'T EAT ME!"

"HA! We are not commanded by an idiot, but by a mad-man. Too bad he's not here to meet you. You seem fiery enough, though you're a bigger fool than I if you think this place was asleep. Do you think a hive grows this large by sleeping? Do you think food grows itself? Besides, you came down here to risk your life for riches. If you can't handle the unexpected, then...I don't know what say. "

She starts walking off.

"Actually, I've thought of something else to say. You and yours want the riches of this place, right? We certainly don't care about that sort of think [LIE]. We're here because a madman sent us here. Luicen - Witches House, a Field of swords

"Grandma."

"Grandma!"

A small girlish voice calls from outside. The witch's eyes grew wide. Suddenly she appears as a tiny harmless old woman before Lucien. She holds a finger to her lips and winks at you. "The service you will perform for me is this: escort my sweet girl outside to the wyrd tree. Do this and your price I will pay. Keep the men from her and steer her from harm. I now know what it is you wanted. That is how things work." She smiles. She hands you a package, "Use this when you need it."

The door opens and a waif like girl on the cusp of womanhood looks inside. Where the Witch of Skin was horrid and ugly this girl was a ray of sunshine. Red luminous hair the color of blood, milk pale skin, and eyes of green that a man could fall into forever. Her smile was like the warmth of the sun on a cool spring day. She wore a simple dress and looked around curiously. "Grandma, you have a guest? I see the army of Erova tried to burn down your house again, was it saved by heroes this time as well?"

The Witch of skin lied, "Indeed it was a band of heroes my beautiful Meadow. This hero here was the last of them. He'll be taking you to the wyrd tree.It will be your rite of passage. Are you ready?."

Meadow looked nervous and probably definitely didn't know about "grandma" and what she really was. When she took Lucien's hand she was trembling slightly. "Can you keep me safe? Can you keep Olaf Urnson at bay? He is a mighty warrior and evil, he wants to...do that thing with me. The bad thing. Good girls don't do..." She flushes red. Then looks up at you, all innocence.

'Grandma' looks angry at the thought. Lucien could overhear something under the witch's breath. "I'll not let men ruin you, as they did me."

Pablo - Idiot Road

A cyclops.

Pablo wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it wasn't that the Gorgon's grand-sire was a Cyclops. Although centuries of inbreeding with cyclops would explain, quite a lot actually.

But then there was the matter of this object of power, as much as he was loathe to look upon a naked elderly cyclops he didn't seem to have anything in his possession other then a loincloth (thankfully), so he looked around the chessboard instead, a lot of statues of various beasts and men in poses resembling battle, did the Cyclops play chess perhaps when he wasn't doing... Whatever he was doing?

But the one thing that caught his attention more then anything was the 'sun'. A glowing red orb in the sky, and yet they were still supposed to be within the building, perhaps this was the object of power? Ducking behind one of the pieces out of eyesight of the Cyclops, He reached into his pockets and pulled out a small spyglass he had won from a game of dice, to see if he could properly discern the nature of this mysterious 'sun'

Pablo's gonna stare at the sun, he doesn't think it will scorch his retinas but if they do it will be a valuable lesson. Here's hoping the Cyclops doesn't wake up.

The Sentinel - Ruined Spire

"She's likely got a secondary means of egress, Jacob. It's not difficult, all things considered. I mean, a set of climbing pitons, a length of rope, and some ingenuity are all you'd need. Or if you've got a particularly heavy set, just use your bare hands and spider your way down. It's unlikely, but still semi-feasible."

He thinks about it some more. "So, Jasa. We can offer plenty - magical might, a steady set of hands, and a fair few tricks that will remain sleeved for now. But I'd like some information. Tell me a thing or two about the others who came from the Tower. What became of those you know of, and where do they go?"

Pablo - Idiot Road

The figures are lifelike but very eroded as he gets a peek at the "sun" He can feel energies radiating from it. His limbs began to feel heavy. Pablo stumbles a bit into a statue in perfect condition. A queen. Smooth and white she turned her head to him slowly and smoothly. She smiled at him with sharp teeth. "My my. It would seem the prince has rescued me. Take me away brave knight and I will give you wealth beyond delight."

Gwendolyn - The outer gate

"Religion? What religion? Of course I want back inside. Did you not see that the great God Uru destroyed the first people for their arrogance and defiance. There's nothing alive out here. Nothing." If this was a creation myth, Gwendolyn found that the similarities ended here. "Seriously, you can take him. I'm a good judge of character. It's not right to keep the good stuff locked away." The serpent man sort of smiled. It was hard with a face like that. "Plus Uru I think destroyed his own awareness. Haven't seen him around to taunt me in eons. I'll give you what I told them was forbidden. A hefty price but I'm so bored here. What do ya say? Partners?" He extends a scaly hand in Gwendolyn's direction.

Jasa - The Spire

She looks at Jacob as if he was a roach. "Are you on drugs or demented?" She levels her weapon at him. "Keep away from me. The lift is right there idiot. You have to get on it for it to move. Duh." Her eyes didn't leave Jacob for an instant. She answered the Sentinel's questions. "Those from the tower die out in the fragmented places between spaces. You're not anywhere. Not even in the tower. Did you leave or get thrown out? Too crazy for the crazies?" She frowned. "All the ones we've seen either survive and become like me and my people, or die horrible unspeakable deaths. Often becoming food for playthings for the beings that existed before creation. Pray you don't get caught by the ones that have no minds..." She shuddered but still kept her weapon on Jacob. "Enough of this. I'm going to rest. I'm locking myself in a room. I suggest you all do the same. Something haunts this structure. You can hear it scratching at the doors. Maybe it's what keeps this section clear of bugs."

She backs into a room and with a gesture the door slams shut. Seamless.

Xozo - The Spire

If this test could be compared to a game of Oware, Xozo swore that the board had just been flipped, and the pieces scattered. His teeth had peeked out as his mouth contracted in perturbation and a breath escaped from his lungs. His jaw clenched as she had responded to the offhand question he had made to the nonhuman Deishu. He was glad that he corrected Xozo’s gaffe before she came to a hostile conclusion. The Adojurugani nodded to Deishu in thanks and said nothing, thinking it to be rude to say anything now.

So now there’s a third party here, but she seemed eager to abandon them for her own reasons. Her action to save them was an attempt to get information, yet easily dismissed the party when she learned that they came from the tower. Maybe this Jasa was at her worse; maybe she saw them as a threat. If she does then she might try to predict the party’s own actions. Her conduct seems fragile and prone to one thing going wrong. Or right if she was fanatic enough.

Xozo closed his eyes for a second to stabilize his thoughts. He would have corrected his careless adjustments of the Sphere of Ojijiki, but the last couple of moments were tense, and thoughts were popping in and out. Item one: She was here for some sort of treasure in these ruins - that was clear enough - yet she seems skeptical of its existence, either being impossible to find on account of the creatures below, or simply destroyed. Item two; she knew of other civilized areas and how to survive in this plane; meaning she either had to be born in this plane or had lived there for a long time, and the Cryptomancer was inclined to believe the latter. Item three; she despises people who came from the tower, meaning she knows of it in some way. He’d like to believe that she came from the tower just like them to enact the test, but the idea that came through his head were unpleasant if he was right.

’I’ll accept this challenge as well.’ The Adojurugani smiled before turning his gaze back to the Puzzle Sphere which had not left his right hand - first configuring it back to the position he had it to begin with, and then working from there for some insight on the haunting.

Time to learn of the supposed haunting or the structure they’re in and how it functions.

Missing awareness, was it? Gwendolyn peered over at the guardian and had a thought. "Tsst! Mage! This isn't your bloody finest hour, is it? Going off on your bloody lonesome, in a tower that's potentially full of these bugs and gods-know-what else, and with your primary means of self-defense involving slicing yourself open? Suicide is what it is, lad. We should stick together. Jasa, we could do with or without. She's not too bloody keen on keeping us around. But the smartest way to get what we need and get out of here is by working together, Jacob. Alone means dead in this kind of situation, unless you've got a hell of a plan in your sleeve."

He puts a hand on the mage's shoulder - his own attempt at a gesture of kindness. Sure, the mage was a practitioner of a forbidden art, potentially a servant of Yig, and so on and so forth. But he'd displayed no overt hostility. And until that point, Caleb would treat him as a part of the team. Besides, he knew a thing or two about good men having somewhat unsavory methods - after all, hadn't he become an expert thief and assassin in order to protect the innocent?

"And lest we forget - Pater picked all of us for a reason. hosed if I know what that reason is, especially considering some of the group we went into this with, but there's obviously a way for all of us to contribute to our mutual success and survival in this apocalyptic shithole. The Sentinel, Jacob, and Xozo - The Western Path, Spire, The Ancient Underground City
Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aex--KqWWPg

Jacob and the Sentinel followed after Xozo and his shifting sphere. Either Xozo's seeming madness or the mysterious sphere guiding them. Soon though with the many seemingly random twists and turns, the trio was soon hopelessly lost. The amount of bones in this area was steadily increasing as they walked along. Many of the rooms looked like they may have been turned into dwellings or something near that when the end may have come. Hundreds of the doomed race trapped together, slowly starving to death. The Sentinel notices there are bite marks matching the strange mouths of their fellows on the bones. It didn't bear thinking about. Xozo suddenly snaps his head back with a jerk. His bloody nose unnoticed and already clotted. the sphere sent out a pulse of light in response to his wishes. In that flash they all could see it, crouched in the corner like some looming horror.

A brief glimpse before the creature turned invisible and the room again plunged into almost near darkness. The sounds of bones clattering nearby...perhaps the piles shifting clicking and clacking oddly off the walls.

Deishu - The Southeastern Path, Spire, The Ancient Underground City
Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdFkjdOz__4

Deishu saunters down his own path, it led slightly downward and his trip seemed relatively uneventful until he came into a massive room. Piles of rust lay in heaps on the floor, large glass tubes and chambers larger than any blown glass he'd ever seen lay amongst the ruin.

Odd machinery lay about, their purposes unknown. A few had small glowing gems on them with little levers to pull and push. A door at the end of the room seemed ominous enough. It looked to be made of metal, possibly steel. Large rods were placed horizontally and vertically through the vault door. A normal man couldn't disengage them but Deishu could.

Davos, Dan, and Dave - The Northern Path, Spire, The Ancient Underground City
Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OLCnz3HN9E

Dan takes the lead with Dave guarding the rear, Davos protected between them. The path narrows and widens and also branches off into more hallways with rooms and paths of their own. Their path seemed to take them down and then up again. Dave started to sing softly to himself, an old prayer his mother may have hummed to him when she wasn't out working the streets. Dan was about to tell him to shut his mouth when they passed by an interesting room. Inside wasn't the normal rusting piles but a few black pieces of what looked like armor. Strange thin armor, it didn't have any arms or lower pants. Dan smirked "No wonder the buggers got'em. Look at this crap armor, it only protects the chest and back. Davos' criminal sense of opportunity started tingling and so did his appraisal. Upon further inspection there were shin and boot parts, and chest parts. It was made with a thin metal that he didn't recognize but seemed like it could be stronger than it looked. There was a helmet as well but there was so much mold and fungus in it that taking the time to clean it would be cost prohibitive. There were a few sealed doors down here as well, unplundered.

Gwendolyn - The outer gate
Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeKRX7eC2To
Why exactly do you want back in if your main motivation is boredom? From what I could tell, there's nothing to do in there either. Furthermore, will you be helping in this fight?"

The serpentine man paused. "There's nothing out here. Nothing. The future didn't happen and I have no idea why, I was supposed to be entertained for centuries. At least in there it isn't cold and you have to admit it is a slice of paradise isn't it?" He begins to pace around Gwendolyn as if sizing her up. "Yes you should do nicely. I will be helping this fight, I think you have a chance!" The Gate's guardian sighed loudly nearby as if annoyed by everything.

Pablo - Idiot Board

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pINz_a1jfs
The Queen smiled at Pablo. "This board is a prison. It was made to contain those here until the end of time. Sad isn't it?" She begins walking away from the board and sleeping cyclops. Her look of disgust at seeing the creature imprinted on her flawless beautiful face. "Let's go somewhere, it can be anywhere if you like. I just want to get away from here." The Queen takes off her heels and throws them away. "What do you say?"

Luicen and Meadow - Witches House, a Field of swords

"Ok see you later Grandma!" Red takes Luicen's hand and before he knows it there walking away from "Grandma's house". She smiles at him warmly. Perhaps too much so. "The wyrd tree [she emphasizes] is where I'll go to collect my birthright. My parents died when I was very young, but grandma came and took care of me. She'd be there every morning and evening, she'd tell me I was special." She gazes deep into Luicen's eyes. "Do you think I'm special..." The question hands in the air between the two of you as Meadow stops at the top of a hillside. At the bottom of the hill is a fork with one path going left and the other right. To the left is a dense and dark forrest with black stormclouds overhead, on the right are farmer's fields with slightly overcast skies. The storm would visit both places but who knew when.

"Dan, you put on the full set. Dave, you get the extra chest piece. It may be thin, but it's better than the nothing that you're wearing now." Now that they were alone, any pretense that the two of them were anything other than slaves was dropped. He glares slightly at Dave, "You're difficulty with obeying my orders has been noted, I suggest you figure out how to get back into my good graces before we finish here." He leaves the threat of what would happen if the man didn't unspoken, but it would no doubt help encourage the right attitude in both Dave and Dan. As much as he played his game from the shadows, the power behind the throne, he always relished lording his control over his thralls when prying eyes weren't watching.

While Dan and Dave get changed, Davos sits down and closes all but his third eye, which he opens. In the Tower, he had learned that the magical art of divination came fairly naturally to him thanks in part to his third eye, and now he attempted to use that power to attempt to catch a glimpse or a hint of what was in the other sealed rooms.

The Sentinel - Ruined Spire, Bone Room

They'd fallen to cannibalism here, in their last redoubt. Yet something lived. Some kind of creature. Perhaps it was the last of their kind. Perhaps it merely fed off the bones, and was some sort of scavenger. More likely than not, it was just as hungry for living flesh as it was for the bones it clattered as it repositioned.

The Sentinel breathed in deeply, shaking the vial of Cryomantic Elixir for a light. He couldn't keep doing this - agitating the mixture again would cause an explosive reaction, coating everything in a ten-foot radius with magically enhanced freezing liquid. His other hand filled itself with blades. Dimly, he noted how frequently he'd had to draw and sheathe them recently, but any night that he didn't have to use them was a good night.

Alas, it appeared his good night had come to an end. His eyes narrowed, steely glare looking for any sight of the creature.

"Stay close," he whispered. "We get isolated, it could jump us."

His mind, however, was already working on another plan. Purified and enhanced aqua vitae, or "alchemist's acid," could melt bone in a matter of seconds, and steel almost as quickly. If need be, he could fling the substance across the room and into the piles of bones, denying the creature a hiding place.

Alternately, if the creature had some kind of pack or other sort of structure, he could use it to deny them entry to the room.

For now, though, his blades would do.

Keeping an eye out for the creature, and flinging a knife at it if it makes a move!

The door led to a vault, or at least that was what Deishu thought. He knew of such things, Wu Xan had treasures it needed to protect and even the temple where he had stayed had its own vault inside of which a terrible Oni had been sealed. The question was, was the vault to keep people out, or something within? The room around him was impressive, but in a vague and conceptual sense; he was impressed that people could have made this and not by the devices and machines themselves. The room seemed to lead within the tower as far as he could discern, so it seemed likely that the creatures outside would not swarm in when he opened it. His mind was set, so Deishu set about to the task of removing the bars from the door and then opening it.

Luicen and Meadow - Witches House, a Field of swords

Lucien rushed out of the house right after the red headed girl with as little as a goodbye to the monster that he was leaving behind. Walking through the field of swords, he said a silent prayer to the various gods that he could remember - it didn't matter which one listened, as long as they all knew that he was willing to spend some coin in their church for not being dead right now.

He listened to the girls words, keeping that same fake smile he had inside on as hard as he could. Right now this little lady was his ticket to not being dissected and made into a puppet. Her hair was sweet and her eyes were deep. But nowhere near deep enough to distract him from the nightmare that awaited him if he did not get this girl to this drat tree thing."
"No," he started, "I think you're better than special. I think you're bloody amazing. In fact, right now, I would say in my eyes that you are the most important and special person that I know as of right this moment. Now," he paused, looking around. "I honestly have no real idea where... tell you what, let's not do the dark forest over there. It's much nicer over that farmland to the right. Cut through that, I'm sure we'll make this tree in no time."

And with that, he leads the way to the right.

Two different things he would need to keep a grip on: how the layout of the Sphere was different compared to the other times, and how much the two humans suspect of him. A breath that the Cryptomancer did not even know he held escaped him, and a shudder. Xozo wondered if they knew the nature of his Sphere or if they would try to take it from him. For now it seemed they had made no move; the image the Sphere gave off garnered enough of their curiosity.

Whatever that… thing was, it could camouflage. He kept close to the two ahead of him, not wanting to be left behind or get picked off as the weakling of the pack. There had never been a time like now where the Adojurugani had wished he internalized all the training they gave him long ago. Any moment he could he kept an eye in the darkness watching for any movement; he could still see the bones move and watch for that. He deposited the Sphere of Ojijiki back into his satchel and grabbed whatever bone he could; it would probably break on contact, but it was better than having only his bare hands to defend himself. His forehead felt like something was run through and his legs felt deadened as he kept up.

“Pardon, should we not find the rest of our pack?” He whispered.

I dunno if the partial vision from the start of arriving here still applies to Xozo at this juncture.

Gwendolyn - The Outer Gate

"Alright. If this works out, I've got a proposal for you. One that'll keep you entertained for the foreseeable future."

Gwendolyn turned back to face against the guardian. The air around her begins to groan and creak as she begins walking, then jogging, then running to the guardian's left side and back to the right in a half-circle, so that she's never quite in range of its swing. "Sorry, friend. I know you're just doing your job, but he's offering me something I need. It's just the orders I was given. No hard feelings, hm?"

Testing out the guardian's perceptive abilities by using Gwendolyn's own powers of perception manipulation to appear an inch closer to the guardian than she actually is, and slowly making each half-circle pass tighter.

Pablo - Idiot Board

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R93Y17S2tiY

"The power is the prison. Once you draw from it, it changes who you are and what you were. Eventually you try to leave when you want to use it for your own conquests and gains. Then the gorgons turn you to stone. The sphere is power, but touching it will taint you." She smiles. "Please, we must go before they turn us all to stone. We'll never get out then." The Cyclops shifts and groans. Then belches and begins awakening. It speaks slowly. "You've come early my grand childe. This won't be pleasant for you, but I've been looking forward to it. You get used to it when the centuries go on." His eye remains sleepily closed.

Davos, Dan, and Dave - Ruined Spire, Armory?

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCFGXJwnIHQ

Dan and Dave suit up. The armor seemed light but they had nothing to say. The oppressive nature of the areas they passed kind of ruining the adventure. Davos motions for them to take up protective positions as he opens his third eye and sees:
Davos' head ached mightily as he divined:
Room#1: There seems to be a rusted assortment of scrap and crap. Time ravaged what was in here.

A horrible migraine hit Davos with the constant effort of sussing out the secrets of:
Room#3: Bones laying in piles as if they were trapped inside and trying to get out, on one wall was scabbled a message in a language that was unknown to him but he took its meaning clearly. "LET US OUT BASTARDS" There were several leather effects and containers in the room.

Blood came from his nose and his eye closed as he received the final bit of information about :
Room#2: Tiny bits of metal, perhaps from a military uniform sat in piles of dust. A few blades surprisingly not rusted after all this time and wea-

The pain. Dizziness. Davos sat down, unable to push harder.

Pushing more will damage you for when points are handed out. Resting as the guys break in is an option if you want inside any particular room.

The Sentinel, Jacob, Xozo - Ruined Spire, Bone Room

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xTiP7Ki6tA

Xozo: Xozo can feel the presence of this...thing. It was gaining height by climbing the walls. He couldn't tell exactly where it was but it was very large and...hungry. However, a path opened in Xozo's mind. One to safety. There was a room one corridor back and to the right that could keep the creature out. He must have failed to notice it before because of how much information he gets when the sphere reveals his mysteries.

Jacob: Suddenly hears voices in his head. Its PATER. "Yes yes dear boys come in! COME IN! Now about those improvements. I would like you to build me a wine cellar off of the hall here." Pater pauses. "I know! I know about the instability, you'd think repeating the same 1000 years over and over again in separate offshoot timelines melded to your greatest adversary you'd learn a thing or two about-" Jacob hears walking. "Now that's clever. Oh hellooo? Hello boy? Is that you? Oh let me alter this spell." Suddenly Jacob hears Pater in his head. "Now where did all of you go? I was in the middle of talking and it was quite rude!"
Jacob's mark throbs when Pater talks to him. He plays back the earlier interaction with Jasa and his treatment. Well, son of a bitch.

The Sentinel: The sentinel's knife flies as he senses movement. It strikes something but clatters to the ground. Listening using techniques gathered over a lifetime of training, The Sentinel can tell that the creature is climbing and is at a 45 degree angle to the group. The room still didn't seem to hold much in the illumination, except for a small lockbox near the top of the bone pile.

spoiler???: "Skrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiittt!" The group hears clacking on the vaulted ceilings of the room. Very quiet for such a large creature.

Kan Deishu - Ruined Spire, Vault

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHOyOVwcJD0

Kan began removing rods, his great strength even having trouble removing them. Slowly, inexorably his forcefulness found the rods lying in a pile next to the vault. He was actually slightly winded, never had he had to go to such efforts of strength to get what he wanted. Indeed when he put his hand on the door it slid so easily open that he ended up slamming it with a mighty clang of metal. There was a window. Or what looked like a black window about three feet wide and two feet tall. before it was a flat table with multiple glowing crystals on it. The room had faint illumination, perhaps powered by the building the group meddled with on the streets outside. Deishu could feel some lore of the ancients telling him about similar artifice but nothing tangible. One of the crystals was blinking. It was green.

Poooosh the butan?

Luicen and Meadow - Witches House, a Field of swords

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi2w1gMczTA

Lucien lead Meadow down the brighter path. She took his hand and played complicated word games with him. Surprisingly complicated. She told him tales her "grandma" had told her, some grim some whimsical. All having a lesson or warning in them. They ate of the fruits in the orchards and the nuts and berries of the land on their way. Soon golden fields of wheat and grain gave way to a small hamlet just as night was to fall and the storm was about to break over head. Before Meadow and Luicen was an Inn, a tavern, several shops of supplies and gifts, and a few homes. Meadows eyes were sparkling. A girl on an adventure. "Oh no, its going to rain!" She frowned jokingly. "If I get wet, will you keep me warm Luicen?" She started shivering slightly. Either cold or something else on her mind. The trip hadn't been traumatic for the girl in the least while Luicen kept thinking of her (and his own) safety. "Where should we go?"

Where indeed? Taking the path greater traveled seems to have yielded safety. Nothing grand though.

Gwendolyn - The Outer Gate

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BdWCX8g7CU

The guardian brandished his weapon as eyes opened all over his form. Everywhere. His wings flared with his weapon, illuminating the area. "I can see you just fine Serpent. None shall pass. Fight together or alone, both will cease to exist if when I defeat thee!" The guardian's fighting stance was perfect. Perhaps too perfect. Gwendolyn remembered how the machines fought. Just like this. Her insight was that the Guardian was a synthetic and created creature. Logical. Just like a machine, programmed with responses and behavior. That it could feel could just be a simulation. Confidence flooded her. It was a fight she could win. The Serpent hissed, a hood appearing around its red glowing eyes. It waited though, to see what Gwendolyn would do.

Gwendolyn - The Outer Gate

Theme Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajlCLQqhiOg

"No hard feelings." A rare smile from the guardian as he tightened his stance. The guardian struck out at her anytime she tested him sometimes stopping short to try and fool Gwendolyn. She wasn't fooled. The Serpent laughed and clapped its hands. "I'll play the game too!" Tirelessly the Serpent and Gwendolyn tested the guardian. Tirelessly he responded to every move whether they tested it separate or together. Then the guardian did something unexpected. He attacked them. The Serpent got a punch in the jaw for his trouble and fell heavily to the ground. That left Gwendolyn as his sole opponent. "I'll finish the Serpent after I've finished you." A ground could be heard from the ground. "I'd best be quick about it, before he wakes." Then the guardian attacked, he nearly got Gwendolyn a few times but she was on the defensive now. Dodging and deflecting, Gwen tried to think quickly. She had to.

Guardian attacks after testing his boundaries so to speak! Also the strike was more than a punch to the Serpent. There's something behind each one.

Davos, Dan, and Dave - The Northern Path, Spire, The Ancient Underground City

His thralls had fallen silent. He supposed it was an improvement over the inane chatter, but Davos enjoyed it most when they were toadying it up, trying to get in his good graces with praise and declarations of loyalty. Still, he focused on seeing with his third eye. It was grueling and draining work. Wiping the blood away, he takes a moment to catch his breath and then stands. Directing his thralls to the third room he has seen, the group sets out to loot what could be found.

Kan Deishu - Vault 13 Control Room

Deishu decided it was a door to keep people out. The room felt like the sort of thing that was hidden, or for people who wanted to hide. Never one to worry about future too much, Deishu walked over, inspected the button and pressed it confidently.

Davos, Dan, and Dave - Ruined Spire, Room #2

Davos rests as Dan and Dave begin trying to open the door. After much swearing, kicking, and cursing. They get it open. Stale air wafts out of the room, the smell of age apparent. Dan and Dave search the room with the experience of burglars. A pile starts to form in front of Davos. A ring with an insignia on it, some items passing for buttons and some kind of insignia. The real prize were two fighting knives made from a very sharp and hard material. It wasn't until Dave brought out the sword that the cache was surpassed. The leather on the handle was rotting but the blade itself was a masterpiece. Dave cleaved through the door with it, smiling. "We could get a bit of coin for this, no one in Pater's place can make something like this." It was an understatement. "Might make getting in to some of these easier, I mean the doors here are thinner than the others."

A good haul/

Deishu - Ruined Spire, Vault

When the button is pressed the screen begins to glow, brightening. A single line of syllables is sitting on the screen. The language seems incomprehensible to Deishu. Mostly all of the crystals are blinking at different rates and patterns, there are some faded symbols on some but they're extremely hard to make out.

The board and monitor seem to be working.

Davos, Dan, and Dave - The Northern Path, Spire, The Ancient Underground City

Davos smiled, "For the moment, Dave you continue to use the blade. Keep up the good work and you may yet earn a reward instead of a punishment. Now, lets find some more loot." Davos waits for his thralls to gather up the valuables they have already found and put them away, then he leads them to another room, and makes way for Dave to cleave the door open.

Heading for Room #3 this time.

Death, but with a gun

Pablo - Idiot Board

"Now is not the time, leave while you can I cannot leave here until my business is finished."

What was he dealing with here, a cyclops, very old, very ugly, a direct confrontation will end badly, is this the kind of cyclops whose eyeball possesses great power? It must be, he must avoid contact but perhaps he can use the pieces around the board to his advantage.

So he got out his little hand book and picked a piece at random, that Knight behind the cyclops that one would do, he very carefully made some notes and prepared his energy

'F = ma, A = v^2, V = 1 m/s' The word's became symbols, the symbols carried weight, they impressed themselves onto the statue and began to push.

Willing forth the Mathemagic, the knight started to grind away from the Cyclops. Pablo hoped he would take the bait.

Gwendolyn - The outer gate

Gwendolyn figured the snakeman wouldn't be much help, otherwise he'd be inside the portal enjoying whatever there was to enjoy, rather than waiting for a sucker to help him out. Still, there was no particular need to cut and run. The snake offered something she needed, and she had no other leads for the moment. The air around Gwendolyn continued to groan and creak as she continued to feint and dodge, throwing a punch or two to get a feel for the guardian's defenses, before taking a significant leap backward; more than enough to get a running start. "Cease to exist? I died a long time ago, friend."

Running straight for the guardian with some juiced up speed and tackling either leg (whichever is more conducive to avoiding a blow) in an attempt to both bring the guardian off balance and grabbing the leg/tackling the guardian through the portal using Gwendolyn's momentum to keep her going. Mostly that second part.

ASK ME ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE BIG SAGGY POKEMON TITS

Jacob - Western Boneway, The Spire - Hive City, S.E.

Jacob clenches his jaw, and bares his teeth.

“We’ve been thrown into some kind of cave-dimension. A race of flat-heads used to rule here before they got ate-up and poo poo-out. This place is a hive now, and these bugs look like some Tough nuts. There's at least one tomb raider. From what she’s said, I assume she’s one of your cast-offs. Jasa. None of us have killed each other. I can't say that'll last forever. What is our objective here?”

He had put his hand down. People knew things about him that he didn’t. Pater was in his head, against his will. He was angry, and the ugly, stupid fucker was going to pay for it.

Talking with Pater hadn't stopped him from drawing blood. He hadn't even felt it.

...Friendship? Again?

The Sentinel - Ruined Spire, Bone Room

Jacob had stepped forward, his knife drawing blood once more.

Caleb merely pushed the blood mage's action to the back of his mind as he gritted his teeth, finely-honed senses picking up on the creature's skittering movements. His hand flashed to his belt, coming up full of blades, and the Sentinel leapt.

As he flew across the room, the fan of blades shot forth from his hand in the creature's direction. At least one would hit - that much he took for certain. Hopefully, all four would impact it at separate points, but the thing's agility and the unsuitable visibility made that unlikely.

Touching down in front of the doorway to the room in a ready position, he freed the vial of aqua vitae from his bandolier. His next throw would be significantly more lethal - of this much, the Sentinel was certain. And having blocked the creature from its avenue of escape, there would be very little chance of their continued assault failing.

His breath comes out in a hiss between his teeth, a soft cloud in the spire's cold air, as his eyes narrowed once more. The Sentinel was not some rank amateur to be evaded by the feeblest of quarries.

"Listen up and listen close," he hisses. "As soon as I throw this vial, we break for it. You lot first, I'll bring up the rear."

The Sentinel is going to throw knives to hurt/antagonize the creature and bait it into going after him, in turn giving him a prime opportunity to throw acid at it.
