I liked both Group A and B, the former for the badass general production cars it created and the latter for the batshit insane mid-engined hatchbacks. It kinda sucks Group B road cars never took off.

Most of the Celica 4wd Turbos (GT4s elsewhere) have been thrashed. We never got the Group A Lancer Evo, Earlier Impreza WRX/STi, and much less anything European that competed. I loved the Lancers especially.

I'd support a Silhouette formula if there was a limited production stipulation ~50 cars.

CAT INTERCEPTOR posted:It's nothing similar - AWD was already known to work (tractor style 4x4 rallycross cars had been laying into RWD rallycross for years even without the benefit of a true center differential, what Audi had was considerably up the technology chain), only Escort / Mantra driving idiots thought AWD was crazy. The Audi's turned up and immediatly dominated when they didnt break. I could see Nissan reverting to a conventional setup (I.E. MR/M4) eventually. It could also neatly tie in to the next GT-R, which is rumoured to be going MR. I kinda agree that the Front-Engined concept is probably a dead end. Seems this is a bigger sweeping thing by Nissan since Doran is now out to lunch with his team losing Nissan support, top guy for motorsports booted. Seems like they are clearing house and reevaluating poo poo. Think they saw the bill and said nope gently caress this. Yeah I'm reading a lot of comments stating Nissan should stay out of sports car racing because they are out to lunch, seemingly ignoring that they are pretty successful LMP2.
