Is it too soon to start talking about revoking Ireland's test status?

Ireland have avoided the follow on, so it's a moral victory after some top quality Englanding at the top of the order

Ireland making a decent fist of it this time around. Again, just making Pakistan bat again would be an achievement and at some point they're going to need to tour abroad to get some experience

If the other nine have settled in like Porterfield and Joyce, they might just get to Tuesday. As for foreign travel, I read they want to return the favor and tour Pakistan, but I've seen nothing about shoe horning them and the Afghanis into the FTP. I'm sure a st Patrick's day test in the right country would draw some of the diaspora.

A draw would be a really good result from this position, but it's what they should be aiming for. The FTP comes out in a couple of weeks. We'll learn then how hosed they are.

There's two days left and they're 116 runs behind still. Is the weather looking lovely for Tuesday?

It doesn't look bad, for Dublin in the spring. But it's Ireland. It just takes one little shift in the North Atlantic and it's raining cows.

I've been over many times and I can't actually remember it raining once. I also remember that the times I've been over in the summer it was never warm. The sun may have been out, but it wasn't warm

The three minute showers one hardly notices on a normal Irish day are capable of halting test cricket for three hours, because the umpires leave a 20 minute gap between pitch inspections and a resumption, and the clock resets if there is another shower.

Ireland lead by 139 with three wickets left. Should aim to push on to lunch then have a crack at trying to force the win and I can't believe that an Ireland win is even remotely on the cards. I mean, it's almost impossible and won't happen, but to get to where they are from 7-4 is pretty drat good
