Hello, Burger thread! Long time reader, first time poster! Today I tried making a double patty burger for the first time. Not usually one to do that on a home burger, but I felt like hurting myself today. Today's beer is a Southern Tier LIVE IPA. Also, this may rile some of you up but I made a Mexican-inspired burger recently that I'd like to share: Poblano, jalapeno, anaheim, red onion, tomato, queso fresco, guac, cheddar & pepperjack, salsa verde. Romaine leaf. Delicious.

Flash Gordon Ramsay posted:Why does that patty look so dry drat *runs sobbing from thread* It was a lot more well-done than I wanted it to be, again it's my first time making a two-patty burger so I made them thinner'n I'm used to... But they actually were pretty juicy despite that. Also, it's a ground beef/ground pork mix if that makes any difference.

Mmmm, bacon Lately I've been getting a baby romaine and slicing it into strips for burgers, and pretty much any other lettuce need such as tacos or burritos. It's really easy to handle and it provides a nice crisp.

Remember, when you smash that burg... let it make love to the surface. Don't flip it until it smells right. Trust your nose.

Probably going to kill me eventually but I'm a fan of brioche rolls for my burgers. So, yeah, basically just a stick of butter as the bun.

Norns posted:Bake your own bread, buy butter at farmers markets? This is the closest I've come. Around here we have a really good dairy that has cultured butters, each with a unique and delicious flavor and texture, so I'm pretty spoiled. There's a few artisan bakers too but I prefer my own bread, warm from the oven.

A coarse shred and very fresh lettuce is actually quite tasty. But that's never what you get, and it definitely won't survive a journey in a wrapper and takeout bag even if it were.

atothesquiz posted:I've burged a lot and one of the weirder but awesome burg toppings I've made is spaghetti squash. Just oil and butter on the squash and make it like you normally would and then shred it with a fork. It comes out string, nice and crunchy and adds a great flavor. Why does this make me contemplate a burger/latke layer patty?
