Don't worry, NASCAR has the 100% rule so they can penalize Edwards for not going full speed.

Oh wait. That's some reactionary phantom rule that isn't actually enforced.

Man, you don't want to be on SHR. That team is full of criminals, murderers, and crybabies.

lol so apparently Brad didn't get his lap started in time for truck qualifying, according to NASCAR.

Guess who that puts on the pole. Ben loving Kennedy.

VikingSkull posted:

32 trucks qualified for a 36 truck field

You got that backwards. 36 qualified for a 32 truck field, meaning 4 went home.

Chris Buescher had 175 laps on his tires and finished 3rd or whatever. All hail the great NASCAR and Goodyear.

Richmond has been that way for a while. It's one of the most overrated tracks in the season.

Remember that the arca race is on in less than an hour. Maybe they'll continue to cheat death.

Wait wait wait. Yes, they're doing single car qualifying at Talladega again, but with rounds still? What the gently caress? Barring a major weather change, they're just going to run the same times over again.

Jesus Christ NASCAR.

The small spoiler has always been garbage and will continue to be that way. If the cars could actually pass, they wouldn't ride in line. (something something see tango racing)

The Kansas Cup race drew a 1.5 in TV ratings . They haven't even gotten to NBC Sports yet! (though Fox Sports 1 isn't much better)

How low can it go? :unsmigghh:

This is the real world, so DW will somehow be in the booth the longest. In the year 2025, it'll just be him announcing the races by himself.

^Goodyear won't soften the tires, because softer tires and more wear = more pit stops for four more tires which = more money spent on manufacturing tires. They like tires that don't wear. That's why someone can stay out on 50 lap tires at Dover and win the race.

The biggest problem is that the cars are too loving low to the ground. Before coil-binding ever took off a decade ago, you'd see the front ends up on the straightaways (sometimes really up). Then, they started planting the nose down as much as possible. Now, there's no ride height rule, so they can do it even more! Add to that smooth rear end tracks and fresh repaves, well they're scraping the goddamn track every lap all race, no matter if its the straight or turn. Secondly, there's too much side-force. You can't race side-by-side because the cars handle like trash.

The ideal scenario would be to 1) remove the side skirts and splitter, while implementing a ride height rule that the car has to be above. Therefore, air would travel underneath the car at all times and provide the following car much greater downforce than now. 2) Swap the superspeedway and speedway spoilers. 3) Get rid of the dumb tapered spacer and give back throttle response 4) Cut off the dumb loving sharkfins and whatever other aero "safety" devices they have. (Put them on at Daytona/Talladega only, same as side skirts). Now, you have cars that are much less aero dependent and more sensitive to mechanical grip, while at the same time lessening the difference of downforce between cars leading and cars following.

Will NASCAR ever do that? lol nope.

I think Spence just likes to spin on purpose for free television exposure. He did the same thing at Dover. Twice.

That right there is a smart man. He knows why people watch NASCAR.

I'd laugh if it makes the racing worse because the cars become more dependent on side force now for corner grip, so anyone on the inside of another car gets hosed.

I'm surprised Dale Jr. doesn't race in either of them. He has no reason to take a break during Father's Day weekend.

That car will look nice all mangled up and towed back to the garage.

Also, we've already seen Jeff Gordon's last win.
