At what point did "wow ufotable table shows always looks really good even on a tv budget" turn into "they use lots of digital effects to touch up budget saving scenes and frame their action sequences in a way that can get away with limited animation" and then into "ufotable can't actually animate".

Plastic Memories
Dogakobo, Yoshiyuki Fujiwara - Sci-Fi
This story takes place in a future not too far away when androids that look exactly like humans begin to spread across the world. The android production company SA Corp. produced Giftia, a new kind of android that has the most amount of emotion and human-like qualities out of any other model ever seen. However, due to problems in technology, the androids have a service life, and once they pass that, they... Well, it gets pretty bad. For this reason, SA Corp. creates a terminal service in order to retrieve Giftia that have gone past their service life. A new employee at the terminal service named Tsukasa Mizugaki forms a team with the Giftia Isla to retrieve the other androids, but...

Is the yuruyuri studio seriously trying to make anime blade runner?

You're in your washtub, taking a bath, when all of a sudden your senpai barges in. She cries out and slips and falls on you, and can't get up.

But she can't get up, not without your help. But you're not helping.

Why are you not helping?

junichi akutsu is a good mech designer. i liked a lot of his designs for geass, especially the guren.

The original Guren line was great. The S1 era suits were purely functional, with only a handful of special suits with silly powers. It goes to poo poo in S2, of course.

Having watched both Shokugeki no Soma and Danmachi, why the hell did Danmachi get the JC Staff budget? Shokugeki no Souma looks dirt cheap. SnS has a hit manga and actual tits, is the siren song of the bland self-insert harem protagonist so strong at getting disc sales?

On the other hand its Kyon and Nagato lack the charm of the original series' Kyon and Nagato and thus makes the whole thing feel cheap and fake!

The new Yuki is an evolution on the super moe Yuki from Disappearance, which in turn was an evolution of the creepy inhuman Yuki that we're all used to.

The new Kyon is awful, he needs to be challenged by those around him to be interesting.

Punchline had one or two good jokes but the rest was a soulless mess. Mikagura Gakuen fits into the same post-Gainax niche, and at least there you had some kind of hook or characters to keep you watching.

Watching Rinne is comforting. It's not nostalgic in the same way as, say, Sailor Moon or DBZ, as I got into Takahashi's stuff later, but... I dunno, it makes me feel like Obi-Wan Kenobi when he sees a lightsaber in use for the first time in years: "an elegant anime, for a more civilized age."

What I like about Rinne is how confident and self-assured it is. It doesn't need to linger on its jokes or rely on reaction faces. Takahashi pioneered most of these jokes and scenarios, and now she no longer needs to rely on them. The leads communicate clearly with one another instead of relying on misunderstandings for drama, and are quick to understand the situations they get into.

It's completely obvious and cliched, but it's completely appropriate. Being really hard to kill is part of the vampire schtick, and what else should someone who's been associating with vampires do but come back after their on-screen death?

I'm also going to make a complaint about Seraph of the End. Alot of the art design looks great, the character designs are nice to look at, as are the backgrounds. The purple-haired girl's demon looked gorgeous with its scratchy crayon art, I wonder who at Wit Studio specialises in this kind of art. However, some of the design choices boggle my mind. Especially the neon-green and teal and purple highlights on the character's clothes and weapons, they look as ugly as sin. You use those highlights in silly 80s style high Science Fiction like in Mass Effect, not in modern shounen fantasy with demons and vampires.

Some jokes can be repeated several times. That was not one of them.

Ep4 was somewhat better, and it drops some intriguing plot points about the outside world (for instance, this show really wants to be like Planetes). But it's really not that great, and it feels like a chore to watch.

i dont think the show is literally in favor of vigilantism, it's a metaphor for human potential and that people are generally good and that one person cant and shouldn't be the 'one hero' dictating what is and isn't right

Heck, the gatchamen were the vigilantes before rui's crowds were unleashed, and afterwards the vigilantes were subsumed into the whole of society.

There is always going to be a risk of Crowds turning out like SSY's cantu, but that's unlikely because (a) they can be gifted to every single human being, and (b) the powers aren't purely offensive, but can also be used defensively. That's why you can easily imagine a Crowds society finding a stable equilibrium point that can maintain the technological society status quo.
