I'm holding on to hope that Rusev will win, even if it means beating the everloving hell out of Cena to the point he gets counted out. I don't want Rusev to lose to a bullshit Cena hulk-up-and-no-sell finish because everyone knows that would absolutely destroy any heat he still has. Preferably have Rusev get a DQ by not releasing the Accolade and just hold Cena in it for like 10 minutes straight until he passes the gently caress out or his back snaps from the strain

Rusev is going to get murdered by John Cena, there's no way around it, and Reigns' entire push has been a Machiavellian scheme by Vince to draw all the X-pac heat from Cena murdering Rusev and pointing out how h's actually not Russian to ReignsEndless Mike posted:Personally, I think the best role for him would be transitioning him to commentary, but given Vince on the other side, I don't know how well that would work out in practice. I'd honestly be happy enough to do a goddamn back flip if Rusev won clean at this PPV. Hell even with interference I don't care. Just show Cena tapping out(okay, passing out, fine) to the Accolade so he has real heat going into Wrestlemania, when he's going to lose no matter what But of course he'll probably get DQed or at best a countout victory.

If Rusev won clean at Fastlane, it wouldn't even matter if he lost at Mania. Over the year he would have cleanly beaten pretty much every face in the company except Bryan and Reigns. That'd be the way to go if they were smart; Rusev defines his place as a top grappler and Cena still gets a big overcome the odds win at Mania.

Eh I dunno, I feel that just cements Rusev as "not a top guy". It's fine if that's the spot they want him in, but don't act like it would be doing Rusev any big favours. People only remember the blowoff match from a series, especially when it's at Mania.

Raw had me bored to tears in the first half hour because it was so predictable. The wrestling is likely to be good, but I'm dreading the very real possibility of 2 non-finishes at Fastlane. At least it's free I guess.

I'm not sure if there's any way of knowing this, but was there always a plan for Rusev/Cena, or has it just been thrown together? I know usually WWE throw stuff together but they still like to base what they can around Cena and generally put some thought into his feuds. So is the idea to be that they want to raise his popularity again by having him go over the unbeaten Rusev (Which won't work)? It just seemed like out of nowhere he decided he's had enough of Rusev and ignored his ongoing story.

Cena is going to spend 3 or 4 minutes in the Accolade, stand up, reposition Rusev for an AA, hit it, and get the clean three count. This the most and really only likely scenario because wrestling is always bad. If you can occasionally delude yourself into thinking it's good then great, but never forget that wrestling is always bad.

So I was trying to find a data set so I could do some data analysis and see how often the PPV loser wins on the go-home show and I found http://www.profightdb.com/ which has some great data but no API I can easily work with that I can see. Great looking site, in searching through it I found that El Torito has the highest winning percentage in the WWE of anyone in it's history: http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers-with-highest-wwwf-wwf-wwe-win-percentages.html

I'm just hoping they blow that off sooner than later so that isn't a Mania match, and Rollins can work Orton or I guess Ziggler on his own.

So is that "Bray barfed all over the ring" thing a myth? None of the reports I've read on PWInsider have mentioned that all, and I figure someone sending in a report would say something about it. Their second report did include this: PWInsider posted:The dark match was Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena. The match lasted about 15 mins but they had one really bad blotched spot. Wyatt look to be going for some type of modified slam and lost his grip of Cena. Cena looked legitimately stunned because of it and Bray ended up getting a nasty cut. Cena won and after the match just gave a few high-fives walking up the ramp and that was it. Mentions being busted open, but no barf.
