Since my youth I have been a music snob who swore for years that new wave and all things new wave are for babies and british children

But my last decade has been filled with sinful, private listening sessions, mostly the smiths, ever since I read the perks of being a wallflower 12 years ago

Anyway, I have always dismissed other new wave era pop as being gross until now

You know that phenomenon which arises sometimes when a friend exposes you too forcefully to a new band or song and you reject it on principle because you felt it was being foisted upon you? Yeah, that was talking heads for me

Talking Heads, The Kinks, Men Without Hats, Devo, Wall of Voodoo, The Buggles were all great. I grew up on that stuff, and it's starting to come back around with Bleachers, Walk the Moon, and others I can't think of.

talking heads will always be my favorite thing ever. the david byrne solo stuff is also really good too, esp the collabs with brian eno. wait until you get super deep in the rabbit hole and have listened to every album six times and then go watch "true stories"
