I'm on suicide watch over Brownie's probable ACL. We must have angered the footy gods.

What a top day of footy though, with any luck the teams will keep up the pace without every drat player popping a shoulder or knee.

* Play all games this round except the Adelaide game and nullify all results

This seems like the most reasonable outcome. Only the MCG has a lock on the week after the GF, it would take a big effort to free up Subi or the SCG (where a prelim final is likely to be played looking at the ladder) if the whole season was to be pushed back. A round of 'friendlies' seems almost fitting considering the impact Walsh has had on so many of the clubs.

Yeah, fair enough. It's a hell of a mess. Whatever decision is made, I don't think the club's are going to kick up a fuss. This is one of those times where you grin and bear it, because some things are bigger than the game.

Biggest disgrace with the Adams stuff was the emergency ump was right there.

Been heading to WCE games at Subi/WACA for 20 years with the old man, that one's going to stick with me. Proud of both teams out there and proud to be in that crowd. Hopefully i'm never at a stadium like that again.

Regarding us having a tilt at the flag, i'm as one eyed as they come but i still can't see it. A top 4 finish would be great for the team and i reckon it's achievable. The biggest upside from this season is a bunch of players are getting a crash course in defensive footy. Long term the sort of experience players like Gov, Schoey and Shep are getting this season is going to pay dividends as they move up the ground. Hard not to get excited, these are some young boys playing to their potential.

Threw Schoey in there just because he's getting consistent footy into him. He's a fantastic swingman and has been shouldering the responsibilities this year like a pro.

The stuff that stands out on game day is we've got a core group of players who can nail targets by hand and footy reliably. Wellingham can drop it on a pin, it's why we got him three years back and if he had have stayed away from bloody trampolines we could have been seeing more of it for the last few seasons. For all the talk of big Govs intercept marking, his disposal is first rate and deserves credit.

Everything gets a nice big bow tied on it when you've got a massive dreadlocked monster rucking and roving out of the middle. He's having a hell of a season.

'I boo-ed Goodes before it was a thing so my boo-ing is fine'

A thing I over-heard at the footy. It takes a person with a pretty thick head to keep carrying on when there's something a bit bigger going on. If a player openly comes out and says he's taking offense at something, stop doing it, regardless of the reason. Was pretty crap being at the ground on Sunday.

Boomer probably gets a bit of a chub going when he hears forty thousand yob's at Domain give him an earful. Thinking that's the same thing as what's going on with Goodes is delusional. There's no doubt an element at every ground who boo just about anything, it's a pretty sad fact that a heap of racist dickheads get to live out a little powertrip fantasy every time Goodesey touches the ball.

Got no idea if there's an easy fix to this, it's depressing me quite a bit.

Doping investigations take a toll on on-field performances. So does slapping a bunch of fossils into a fairly mediocre footy club. Some people still question Hird's influence on the former but he's guilty as sin of the latter. You would think footy departments would have learnt from Freo's 90's and 00's elephants graveyard style of recruitment.

Just a huge sign that WCE will be going balls to the wall aggressive. Smashing teams in the midfield sure helps a short defense. I reckon round 1 would still sting for coast, injuries aside we got outworked hard by the dogs. It's shaping up to be a properly good footy game this.

Ryan Crowley!? ( no chance in hell)

I dunno, I think it's a pretty reasonable idea. Him and a few others who are still going to be playing state footy in 2016 will still be in good physical condition. What the bombers are going to need more than anything will be experienced blokes to back up the rookies and provide some leadership.

It's not like Crowley isn't used to being boo-ed, plus his reputation is shot anyway after his own drug drama. Bloke has no legacy and nothing to lose.

Not only that but what's in it for Essendon to win more than a handful of games next year. The expectation has already been set, all they'd be doing is risking losing the #1 pick.

It's a bit of a balancing act. Sure, they wouldn't want to be winning a heap of games but you also don't want to damage a generation of players and rookies at the club. Just look at Melbourne, you can have a bunch of talented young players but if you don't develop them properly you can stuff them entirely. Having your future list run out on the ground and get beaten to a bloody pulp for a full season is the doomsday scenario, they've got to be competitive and they've got to win games. In all likelihood a bunch of those 12 players aren't coming back too. I can't see players involved in huge lawsuits happily popping the guernsey on.

The future of the clubs list started a couple of days ago. They're basically going to need to grow a leadership group to rebuild a culture with a bunch of older talent to take the load off some young blokes who are going to be struggling. Bloody tough sell to anyone who's recently stepped away from the game but i don't see that the bombers really have a choice.

It's that, or try and pull a GWS/GCS without years of draft compensation. Good luck, we've seen how tough that is.

I don't really get it... the AFLPA says the players "cooperated at every stage of the investigation", but the report from the investigation specifically outlines that the players, as an entire group, lied/withheld information about the injections received.

Not sure how both can be right.

I don't know why the AFLPA has set things out that way when you consider what the WADA ruling was. They're fighting a fight that's already over.

It's still more than enough that the Bombers failed employees that they had a duty of care over, just drop the naive and angelic players angle.

I'll always feel sorry for players like Heppell. You walk into a club as a teenager, and there's James 'Gentleman Jim' Hird telling you to shove this poo poo into your knee, it's a-ok. As if anyone has the strength of character to say no in a situation like that at 19.

It's just a poo poo situation the club put those players in. Telling them the jab is safe is one thing. Having every single player on that list fail to disclose that jab is a whole other story. What the WADA ruling made pretty clear is that regardless of the clubs actions it was still the responsibility of the players to disclose to ASADA any supplements and medications. The "we thought that was only within a couple of days" line is weak.

I really do feel sorry for the younger players, it all just reeks of a 'holier than thou' culture. Of course a bloke like Heppell is going to go along with the rest of the player group and staff. It's why him and a whole heap of others should get everything they can from Essendon in the courts.

The sad thing for these players is that if they had followed the ASADA disclosure regulations i don't think they would have missed a single game, regardless of what was being pumped into their bodies by that oval office Dank. At least that's how I've interpreted the WADA findings.
