I'm at 150-155 right now which is lower than when I enlisted back in 06. I'm slowly withering away.

PBR is $3 in the bar I go to. Which is pretty drat good for Waikiki.

If you want cheap drinks in Waikiki you need to hit up the hideaway during happy hour. $1 bottles. It's down the alley between the 7-11 on Ena Rd and Kalakaua and the Irish rose. I drank cheap at Arnold's and kings pub too, but that was partially because I was friends with the bartender.

It was a brand new rav 4 that some dude had just bought that his wife was driving that totaled my 04 mountaineer two and a half weeks ago.

Got more than I put into it for the property damage. My insurance still owes me my deductible back once they collect from her insurance. Cheap fucks wanted to offer me $2500 less than USAA was going to give me.

Now I'm stuck with nothing but a 38 year old car that hasn't really been driven in a year or my motorcycle. Just sucks that I don't have anything that I can really move anything around in.

If you have time to go up to north shore, Giovanni's shrimp truck is always a great stop and so is ted's bakery.

As far as honolulu bars, it depends on your scene. Do you want a club or do you want a smoky bar? You're going to see military people everywhere anywhere you go. You're more likely to get into a fight with them than most locals unless you're being an exceptional jackass.

Any electricians or people with electric motor experience around? I have a potentially dumb question.

Nah the fans works fine, but the neutral and hot are shorted inside the motors themselves.

A few weeks ago there was an unrelated electrical issue in my food truck so I was putzing around with my multimeter and came across something that's bugging me. I was noticing that the neutral and hot on one particular circuit were shorted. I first thought the outlet was wired wrong because the shitheels that did it in the first place did some head scratching things all over. The socket was fine, but when I checked the hot/neutral leads for each of the fans, they both read as shorted. Once the fans were unplugged, the hot and neutral in the outlet and at the panel had open resistance like they should.

One of the fans had some damage to the wire so I needed to replace the cord anyways. I yanked it out to see if I could get to the bottom line. After cutting off the melted section, I was still showing a short between my neutral and hot. I ended up unsheathing the entire cord and opening the motor to see if I could find the short somewhere to no avail. I'll admit it's been a while since college physics and working on the ship with the electricians, but the neutral and hot shouldn't be crossing, yet they are and it's inside the motor itself.

I'm probably just going to order some replacement fans, but I'm checking around to see if I'm just an idiot first.

unless you can strip down and rewind the motor and then revarnish it, it's probably the best bet if you have a short INSIDE a fan motor. if they're expensive you might be able to sell the cores to someone who wants to rebuild it

See, that was my thoughts. I definitely cannot rebuild it myself.

Yeah I'm going out to measure the spots and see about some replacement fans.

Lots of people get sadbrains on subs and tap out. Some get off and get help. Some don't and blow their brains out. Some just shut down and become literal wastes of space until they're kicked off.

If you can't get into the VA clinic to see your doctor, they usually have people that you can just walk in and see. You might be there for hours on end, but you should get seen eventually. I rarely see my actual doctor, but they're pretty good about seeing me if I need something right away or via myhealthevet secure messaging.

If it's after hours and you hurt, gently caress them and go to the ER. They will cover it.

Works for my beard. I don't do anything special. I just shampoo/condition it when I shower like any other hair on my head.

Any of you guys can explain what this chart is telling me?

What that's saying is that you were given some sort of severance pay when you separated and they're recouping the amount that was paid to you.

They're going to do this because you cannot collect both DoD and VA funds without the combat related exclusion that allows you to double dip. However, they only deduct based on the percentage of your specific disabling condition.

Additionally, this means that your severance is now tax free. Since you were taxed on it initially, you can now collect the portion that was taxed. There's a process via mypay for this. You have to call them for this. If you wait until after the year is up, you'll get it on your tax return next year, but you can't efile.

I found all of this out the beginning of last year while trying to wrangle back my taxed portion.

Yep that makes sense. I knew going in back pay probably wasn't going to happen due to the severance pay I took. Is the chart saying that my disability cash will be paid out starting 1 Sept 2016? And thank you. This is a big help.

Yeah that looks about right. Mine is being recouped until 2020.
