It was absolutely, undeniably, unquestionably Ru pulling Katya because RuPaul's been aiming for a big queen winner and, if by chance Katya ended up in the top 3, she would have taken it all, period. EDIT: I'm watching the newest episode right now and have come to the conclusion that Pearl is the Peter Sellers of drag - no discernable personality herself, yet a weird knack for doing characters. It's, like, I need to hear Pearl do the Big Ang voice outside of the Snatch Game because that poo poo was so ridiculous, it's hard to believe it's her.

And I'd like to point out that, being 34 I think Kennedy and Ginger are completely out of line... but not 100% wrong? If only because I want life to beat the poo poo out of Violet so she can become an actual person.

I really wonder what Ru's honest reaction to this season is since clearly he had a very definite idea of what he wanted the show to be, which was pretty much the exact opposite of what the audience was hoping for and expecting.

I mean, Ru's been fairly "gently caress all you motherfuckers, my show my rules," but he will have gone completely and utterly insane if he writes off everything that's been said.

It really is the best.

WoW is doing that whole countdown which featured a "BEST SEASON 7 CATCHPHRASES!" and Katya recites that loving bullshit awesomeness from memory.

The endless attempts at manufacturing quotes and catchphrases was extremely irritating, but that entire speech will go down as the best thing out of Season 7.

Well, a friend blew it for me, so I would like to point out that after crowing the entire season about how Ru was clearly aiming for the first big girl win, crowning the tiniest waist in Drag Race herstery is delicious enough it might justify crowning someone who, while having changed throughout the season for the better, is still a pretty gross human being.

I mean, girl deserved it out of the three the most, I can't deny it. But I just can't imagine a scenario where $100,000 and a crown doesn't turn Violet into the worst demon.

Screw season 1, this has now become the lost season.

(it might just be. The general consensus seems to be digging it well enough.)

To me, it just feels like crowning Violet could lead her into confirming for herself every move that she had made was the correct decision rather than reflecting on how she was received in the front half of the season and how she can continue to better herself.

But I never warmed up to her, so I haven't been following Violet's social media stuff. Maybe she's changed for the better, but I wouldn't be surprised if she got a whole lot worse.

Super on topic: I really enjoy The Shade of it All podcast, which is a Drag Race recap show done by a bunch of professional comedians that pretty much covers the entire LGBT spectrum, a couple straights and a cat. Aw man. I can listen to Alyssa doing bits all day. She might be the one person in existence who started out unintentionally funny but managed to stay funny after gaining self awareness (unlike, say, Gia Gunn or Tommy Wiseau).

It feels like they made sure to skew older this season (the average age seems to be about 32) to prevent the outright fuckery of last season. I dig that.
