Game Features

Since reading paragraphs is hard, here's a list of cool things about this game.

- Every Hero (and Villain!) is their own unique 'class', complete with three skill trees.
- Team-Ups, which allow you to have AI-controlled heroes fight alongside you or buff you passively.
- Tons of costumes from across every era of Marvel's comics, movies, and cartoons.
- Co-op gameplay for teams of up to 5 players, and Raids for teams of 10.
- Fantastic voice acting from established Marvel voice actors.
- New characters and content added monthly, and sometimes even more frequently than that! (We get new costumes almost weekly!)

This game is available on Steam! The non-steam version of the game is exactly the same and there's no server split or anything, but it doesn't update automatically.

Okay, I'm interested, what is Marvel Heroes?

Marvel Heroes is a Free To Play Action-RPG set in the Marvel universe, designed by David Brevik (who you might know better as the lead designer on Diablo 1 and 2). It blends traditional ARPG gameplay with a superheroic flair, and has an in-game shop reminiscent of something like League of Legends. The key difference between this and other ARPGs like Diablo or Torchlight is it takes place in an MMO style, massively multiplayer environment. You're going to see dozens of players helping you clean the streets of New York, fight dinosaurs in the Savage Lands, face down the forces of AIM and Hydra, and venture to Asgard as you make your way through the Marvel universe to stop the likes of Doctor Doom, Loki, and more. And the story's growing all the time!

So How Do I Get Started?

Choosing a starter Hero:

You can try out all of the starter heroes up through level 10. To get any further you have to pick one to unlock permanently- for free! Try them all out and make an informed decision.

200 Splinter Starter Heroes:

- Black Widow: A mix of stealth, guns, explosives, martial arts, stun batons, and knifing dudes in the face.
- Hawkeye: Ranged single target and AoE damage, with a lot of crowd control in the form of Trick Arrows, which have a bonus chance to proc when firing normal arrow attacks.
- Storm: Ranged and AoE damage with a lot of different stuns and slows, by way of lightning, wind, and weather.

400 Splinter Starter Heroes:

- Rocket Raccoon: A pet-based hero, Rocket is capable of dealing out good damage on his own and better damage alongside his turrets. And Groot, your permanent buddy.
- Colossus: A hefty melee tank with high defensive capabilities and incredible damage. Can summon both Wolverine (via Fastball Special, natch) and his sister Magik to fight alongside him.
- Cyclops: A ranged fighter with tons of lasers. Wide lasers, focused lasers, huge explosions, you name it. Also has 'Strike Team' powers that call in Iceman, Beast, Jean Grey, or Angel for a single attack (they're not summons, just attacks).
- Human Torch: Do you want everything to be on fire? All the time? Of course you do. He's fast, he's AoE-based, and he's flashy as hell.
- Black Panther: High single-target melee damage and lots of stealth gameplay.
- Captain America: Oh, I just love America. Don't you? :patriot: Strong defenses, solid melee attacks, and some super fun shield-throwing powers.
- Luke Cage: A tanky melee bruiser with a cadre of Heroes For Hire fighting alongside you. Also, throwing cars at an enemy over and over until they die.
- Punisher: Toting tons of guns, Punisher is a ranged combat specialist. Flamethrower, grenades, akimbo pistols, rocket launcher, battle van, he's even got a tactical nuke.

Starter Heroes come in 2 tiers: 200 Eternity Splinters and 400 Eternity Splinters. It might be a good idea to unlock a 400 Splinter starter, just because they would cost more to earn later on.

Eternity Splinters are a currency primarily used to buy new heroes, which drops from everything in the game. You get it at a pretty good rate, which should let you unlock new characters every 1-3 weeks, depending on who you want to buy.

When you log in on your second day of play, you get 400 Splinters. Heroes are divided into three pricing tiers of 200 Splinters, 400 Splinters, or 600 Splinters. There's also a 'Random Hero Box' available for 175 Splinters- which can give you anyone, but has a chance to give you a duplicate of someone you have. They're all weighted randomly so it's a good idea to buy early on, but as you unlock more heroes the Random Box becomes a worse and worse proposition. Spend your free Splinters wisely.

From there, just go fight bad guys. Stop Doctor Doom's plan, team up with your friends. Have fun.

Ok, I finished the Story Mode. Now What?

Here's more stuff you can do:

Story Mode: Heroic and Superheroic difficulties unlock as you level up your hero. Harder with better XP and better rewards.

Terminals: Small instanced dungeons with a boss at the end. Available in three difficulties, Green, Red, and Cosmic. Higher difficulties have better rewards. Cosmic is locked until you're lv60.

Group Challenges: X-Defense pits a team of five against hordes of enemies, each stronger than the last, defending students at the Xavier Institute. Holosim has two players team up to fight off waves of objective-based SHIELD simulations. Midtown Patrol and Industry City Patrol set you loose in open-world zones with continual waves of bosses, events, and other stuff to do.

Raids: At the level cap, groups of 10 players can tackle the hardest content in the game. Raids have Green and Red difficulties, just like terminals. Greens are easy as long as you have lv60 gear, but Reds require some optimization.

Legendary Quests: Starting at level 20, you'll start getting assigned Legendary Quests. These can be anything, but give some of the best XP in the game. Most people focus on these when leveling after they hit 20.

Fire VS Ice PvP: Don't play PvP it's bad. Single-lane moba inspired map, powers behave entirely different than they do in normal play.

Ok, this all sounds good, but F2P with micro-transactions sounds like a cash sink.

The game's free. ZERO content is paywalled. ZERO mechanics or gameplay items are paywalled.

Here's what spending money will get you:

Costumes: Cosmetic only. Also, while extremely rare, almost all costumes are available as drops.

Heroes: All heroes are also available with in-game currency (Eternity Splinters).

Team-Ups: All Team-Ups are also available with in-game currency, just like heroes, and can be earned at roughly the same rate as a new hero.

Cybernetic Pets: While you can buy them for cash, they also have a rare chance to drop in the world, can be obtained with Eternity Splinters, and are frequently given out during special events.

S.T.A.S.H. Space: While your inventory isn't terribly small, the base amount of 'bank' space is pretty limited. This is, unsurprisingly, where the developers make a lot of their money. They have to get a profit somewhere. There is no way to unlock this with in-game currency but they have rarely given out free ones during events.

Temporary XP/Credit/Item Find boosts: These also show up as drops in-game(via Fortune Cards) and are frequently given out for free.

You cannot buy character strength, you cannot buy gear, and all new gameplay content is always free to players.

FAQ

Q: There's so many classes, won't it be hard to get gear for the one I'm playing?

A: Loot drops are weighted to your currently played character. You'll find loot for other heroes, but 90% of what you find is going to be for who you're playing as. This goes for special items, too! Sometimes you'll find something very rare for another character, like a Unique or a Costume. That's... just bad luck, unfortunately. But maybe you'll end up interested in getting the character that item belongs to. Maybe they're someone really good! You never know.

Q: Where are the builds? I see no builds in the OP.

A: There are so many characters in this game and they change so often I don't personally keep builds updated in the OP. However, another goon does keep builds organized and updated here, so check it out.

Q: How often does this game update?

A: Frequently. It's rare to go more than a week without at least some sort of minor patch, and we're seeing new heroes get added to the game at a rate of about one a month. The developers have told us to expect this pace to stay constant throughout the life of the game, which is kind of exciting.

Q: What's the conversion rate for cash into Gs?

A: $1 = 100G. Pretty simple. If buying through Steam, you can even use your Steam Wallet funds. And this game has Steam Cards, too, if you like to resell those and use the money to buy stuff. Gift Cards you can purchase with cash and redeem online should be available at your local Gamestop or Target, if you need those.

Q: It's annoying to run around so much, especially since my inventory is so small! How can I sell things and get back to where I left off faster?

A: Your B key is for 'Bodyslide', or basically the town portal button. It's a two-way thing, not only taking you back to the level-appropriate hub area, but also letting you teleport back to exactly where you left off, if used a second time. You can do this from anywhere, in the middle of Midtown or dungeons or terminals or even the Classified Bovine Sector. Sell your loot and sell it often. This does have a cooldown on it, but it's a short enough one that you shouldn't be too worried about conserving it or anything like that.

Q: Is there any sort of Auction House, secure trading, or player economy functionality in the game?

A: Trading is in at long last, and there's a thriving trade economy in the game and on it's official boards. There is not, and never will be an auction house. Especially not a real money one. Don't be silly.

What playable characters do we know are coming?

These characters have been confirmed as in the works:

- Obviously more

How do I play with other goons?

In-game, our supergroup is named Groot Force.

To get in the group, either contact us in the Mumble channel(text is fine, you don't need a mic!), or send a message in-game to one of our officers.

Groot Force Officers include:

- KelpPlankton
- NotALizardman
- PyronicEX
- Aarontagg
- AfraidofAudio
- Ajjax
- clgibcount
- davebo
- Gwalidir
- ICR
- khrits
- Lvxx
- moderndayknight
- Phyresis
- And possibly more?

Tell whoever you're talking to your SA username. We don't have a crazy auth requirement or anything but we just want to make sure you at least know what Something Awful is before inviting you to the guild.

We can't invite you unless you're online and we're online, so try to catch one of those folks in-game. Don't ask for an invite in the thread.

There's a Steam group and you should join it!

We use it to announce a lot of stuff like hero preorders/releases, major patches, server downtime/uptime stuff, and lots of cool Groot Force specific player-run events. Join it and be cool.

Groot Force uses the Camping The Stairs Mumble Server, and details on joining us are here:

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3521554

The Mumble channel is typically pretty active during the evenings (US time) and all day on the weekends. We've got a few European, Australian, and other international-type players too, who are on at their own appropriate prime times.

There's also an IRC channel, #marvelheroes on synIRC. I don't personally use it but it could be pretty good too!

Everything changes, Pit.
Even gods.

The Roster

Black Panther (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero, both energy and physical damage. Uses his claws, daggers, and traps. Has a stealth power.

Black Widow (450G or 200 Splinters): Melee and Ranged options, a mixture of energy and physical damage. Spy gadgets, stun batons, stealth tech, and calls in a SHIELD squad for her Ultimate.

Cable (900G or 400 Splinters) : Fully ranged. Energy damage for weapons, mental damage for psionics.

Captain America (900G or 400 Splinters) : Melee with ranged shield throw attacks. Physical damage. Has a resource that builds when you block damage and is spent when using a cooldown power, reducing it's cooldown. Combo move with the Avengers for his Ultimate power.

Colossus (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero with physical damage. Very sturdy, has some summons but people don't use them, hits really hard. Has the yell from the X-Men arcade game.

Cyclops (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero, primarily Energy damage. Also has some physical damage melee attacks. Has really cool 'assist' moves that call in other X-Men to do an attack for you, but is really all about the lasers.

Daredevil (450G or 200 Splinters): Melee hero, physical damage. Has a 'Combo System' mechanic which works pretty well. Kind of bland, but a good hero.

Deadpool (1350G or 600 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero, deals physical damage. Guns, swords, explosives, and regeneration.

Doctor Strange (1350G or 600 Splinters): Ranged hero, Mental damage. Super flashy, some of the coolest looking powers in the game. #1 pick for visual spectacle.

Emma Frost (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged/Melee hybrid hero. Ranged attacks are Mental, Melee attacks are Physical. Shifts in and out of Diamond Form depending on what attacks you use. Can 'Enslave' a single enemy at a time to fight alongside her, then detonate them whenever she's done with them.

Gambit (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged/Melee hybrid hero. Bo staff is physical, kinetic cards are energy.

Ghost Rider (1350G or 600 Splinters): Ranged/Melee hybrid hero. Hellfire is Mental damage, Chains are Physical. Slow rides, takes it easy.

Hawkeye (450G or 200 Splinters): Ranged hero. Physical damage. Has chance to fire his Trick Arrow powers as procs on his normal arrow attacks, which is pretty cool.

Hulk (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. HULK SMASH! Uses Anger instead of Spirit, Anger builds quickly in combat and decays when not fighting, but is not spent on powers. Instead it makes them stronger when at high levels. Has his meteor super from Marvel VS Capcom.

Human Torch (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Lights everything on fire, lots of DoTs and AoE.

Iceman (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged/Melee/Pets hybrid hero. Energy damage. Can freeze enemies and then shatter them for bonuses.

Invisible Woman (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Tons of AoEs, lots of defensive team support, and a passive that suffocates enemies. Oh and invisibility.

Iron Man (1350G or 600 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage for his beams and some missiles, some Physical on other missiles and melee attacks. Can be built a lot of ways.

Jean Grey / Phoenix (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Mental damage as Jean, Energy damage as Phoenix. AoE and DoT heavy. Form-based hero.

Juggernaut (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero, physical damage. Tons of movement powers, high defenses and CC resist, hits like a truck. :itjb:

Loki (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Mental damage. Can summon illusionary Loki pets, lots of AoE, and has a teleport that makes him invisible and breaks CC.

Luke Cage (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Has some useful summons, but most people favor Iron Fist because he heals you. Throws an infinite number of cars.

Magneto (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Lots of AoE, DoT, and crowd control. Has a 'Debris' secondary resource you generate with some powers and spend with others. Also throws an infinite number of cars.

Moon Knight (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Physical damage. Basically Batman. Punches dudes, throws boomerangs, and has a flying attack vehicle. Khonshu talks to you a lot and he's rad.

Mr. Fantastic (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero that pretends he's ranged because he punches really far. Physical damage. Tons of AoEs and great animations.

Ms. Marvel (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged/Melee hybrid hero. Punches are physical damage, beams are energy damage.

Nightcrawler (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Lots of AoEs, tons of teleporting, very quick hero.

Nova (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged/Melee hybrid hero. Energy damage. Can place Pulsars on the ground and detonate them with other powers. Big on movement abilities.

Psylocke (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Mostly mental damage, but does some physical ninja stuff. Has a toggle that replaces her normal katana with a psi-katana and changes it's damage type accordingly.

Punisher (900G or 400 Splinters) Ranged hero (surprise?). Physical damage. Uses 'Ammo' instead of spirit, which he has to use a 'Reload' power to restore. Power cost reduction items instead reduce the cooldown of his reload power. Also has a portable nuke and a van.

Rocket Raccoon (and Groot) (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Summons Groot to fight alongside him. Can specialize in either space guns or placing turrets.

Rogue (1350G or 600 Splinters): Whatever you want. Ranged, melee, energy, physical, mental. All of it at once if you'd like. Rogue is extremely unique because while she has one tree of 'normal' powers, her other two trees are 'Steal From Friends' and 'Steal from Foes', meaning you get to steal abilities from other players, bosses, and team-ups to build Rogue into whatever you want her to be. She's unique, not just amongst this game's roster, but for the ARPG genre itself.

Scarlet Witch (450G or 200 Splinters): Ranged hero. Mental damage. Lots of AoEs and DoTs, tons of abilities that weaken or slow enemies.

She-Hulk (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Builds combo points with some powers and spends them with others. Lots of lawyer jokes. Has a special 'Surprise Witness' summon that pulls a random Team-Up out temporarily to fight alongside you- even ones you don't own.

Silver Surfer (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Uses 'Power Cosmic' instead of Spirit, which has much larger values but works the same way. Powers look very cool too.

Spider-Man (1350G or 600 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Physical damage. Using ranged attacks buffs his melee attacks.

Star-Lord (900G or 400 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Has an elemental ammo mechanic that changes what his attacks do on the fly. Cool ship-related powers too.

Storm (450G or 200 Splinters): Ranged hero. Energy damage. Lots of AoEs and DoTs. More control ability than many heroes.

Squirrel Girl (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. But that's a lie, she's actually pet-based. Physical damage. Dozens of squirrels murder everything for you while giant acorns rain from the sky.

Taskmaster (450G or 200 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Physical damage. A mixture of powers from Captain America, Hawkeye, Daredevil, and Spider-Man but a few of his own as well.

Thing (450G or 200 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Insane amounts of HP and defense. Has a power called 'Clobbering Time' that makes him yell "It's Clobbering Time!" and boosts your clobbering abilities for a certain amount of time.

Thor (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Hammer is Physical damage, Lightning is Energy. Builds 'Odin Force' with some powers and spends it with others.

Venom (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Physical damage. A mixture of brawling, webbing, and symbiote tendril stuff. Uses 'Ichor' instead of spirit, which you build with some powers and spend with others.

Winter Soldier (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee/Ranged hybrid hero. Physical damage. Uses a variety of weapons, including guns, knives, and his bionic arm. Has the mine launcher from the movie.

Wolverine (900G or 400 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Uses 'Fury' instead of Spirit, which he builds by dealing or taking damage. High Critical chance and Brutal chance, lots of bleeds, and the ability to bypass the damage speed cap to double your attack rate.

X-23 (450G or 200 Splinters): Melee hero. Physical damage. Uses 'Wrath' instead of Spirit, which she builds by dealing damage. Lots of bleeds, lots of movement powers.

That's a lot of characters! Who's the best? Who should I play?

When in doubt, play whoever you like from comics/cartoons/movies. You'll enjoy characters more if you already like them. That said, if you want to know who's the most effective right at this very moment, ask the thread. This changes constantly, sometimes without the game even patching, as people discover new gear setups and new builds for characters. With over 40 different classes in the game, 'the best character' is changing all the time.

WHERE ARE THE BUILDS? I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE MY CHARACTER BE GOOD

:siren:GO HERE, THE BUILDS ARE OVER HERE:siren:

If a build seems to be excessively outdated on that spreadsheet, ask the thread. Someone can make a new one for you, or let you know that it's old but still current.

What costumes are there? I NEED 20 DIFFERENT IRON MAN ARMORS

Click here to go check out a site that lists and has pictures of all the costumes. And you're in luck, because Iron Man has more than 20.

What about Kate Bishop, Superior Spider-Man, Beta Ray Bill, Mar-Vell, and these other characters I see people playing as? They're not on the list.

Those are ENHANCED COSTUMES, special outfits for a character that change them into someone else with roughly the same abilities. They have unique voice-work, emotes, and sometimes totally different animations or power icons. There's also some of these that change your hero into a different version of that hero, like Gambit's 4 Horsemen outfit or Thing's Fear Itself.

Team-Ups

Team-Ups supplement your hero. You can use any team-up on any character, but some are better suited to heroes that either match their damage type or benefit more from their passive boosts. These are added to the game at roughly the same rate as new heroes.

Currently Available:

- Spider-Man
- The Falcon (Captain America: The Winter Soldier version)
- Firestar
- Magik
- Black Suit Spider-Man (Fortune Card reward)
- Domino
- Gamora
- Drax The Destroyer
- I AM GROOT
- She-Hulk
- Beta Ray Bill
- Old Man Thor (Fortune Card reward)
- Future Foundation Doctor Doom (Mac bundle or Fortune Card reward)
- Brood Infested Wolverine (Halloween mystery box reward)
- Wasp
- Agent Coulson (Omega Event reward, voiced by the movie actor)
- Havok
- Spider-Woman
- Clea
- Holiday Groot (Groot covered in christmas lights, Christmas 2014 event reward)
- Arachne
- Deadpool 'The Kid' (he is a cowboy)
- X-Force Wolverine (200 day login reward)

Future confirmed team-ups:

- Agent Venom
- Angel (Classic)
- Captain America (Sam Wilson)
- Carnage (Axis)
- Quicksilver
- Rescue
- Spider-Gwen
- Sunspot
- Archangel (X-Force)

A character being playable or being a team-up makes it more likely we'll see them added as the other thing, not less, so don't freak out if your favorite character is added as one of these before they're made into someone playable later on.

So this is a loot game right? Tell me about the loot!

At the start of the game, your Hero has 5 Gear slots (Traditionally: Weapon, Armor, Belt, Boots, Head. But they vary by Hero), a Medal slot, and 2 Artifact slots.

Gear: Your Gear 1-5 slots will fill with slot-appropriate Hero-specific items ranging from White->Green->Blue(Rare)->Purple(Epic)->Cosmic(Yellow)->Unique(Brown). Cosmics provide +1 to all Powers in addition to having affixes like Epic Gear. Uniques are untradeable, many can be used by multiple characters, and they tend to be stronger than many other items.

Rings: Rings unlock at level 25 and serve as an effective 6th Gear slot. They follow the same progression as any other gear, including Uniques.

Insignias: Insignias unlock at level 35 and drop in green, blue, and purple rarities. You can upgrade an Insignia to Cosmic using some event currency. The primary affix on an Insignia is applied as an aura to all nearby players, but they don't stack, so it can be worth your while to pick an uncommon affix in raid content.

Medallions: Dropped from bosses, these come in 3 versions: Medal (below level 24), Medallion (level 24+, +1 to all powers), and Cosmic(any level, additional +1 to all powers).

Artifacts: You start the game with 2 artifact slots and acquire a 3rd and 4th at level 45 and 55 respectively. Artifacts are fixed level gear, each kind only dropping in a specific level range. They are usable by any Hero and are tradable. Artifacts can be 'Blessed' for the cost of 100 Odin Marks, gaining additional special affixes that can add a lot of oomph to your character.

Legendary: Your legendary slot is available at level 1, but you'll need to collect 300 Odin Marks to buy one. They are incredibly strong items and many have unique procs. They're usable by any Hero and aren't tradable- but you can turn them back into Odin Marks if you made a bad choice or want to gear up another hero.

Relic: Relic slot unlocks at 20. Relics are items with small individual stat bonuses that stack in your Relic slot up to 1000 Relics. The more you stack, the stronger the bonus.

Uru-Forged: Uru Forged items come in 2 tiers: Level 25 and 50. Each gives a small fixed stat bonus. Their value lies in their ability to be enchanted by powerful runewords. The runewords scale to the level of the item.

Costume: Costumes have stats that you give them, never predetermined and never pay-to-win. The crafter will let you add a Core to your costume, as well as a number of affixes to buff it further. This is why you want to level up your crafter.

Cybernetic Pets: Equippable on any hero and don't bind to them. You feed your pets loot to make them grant stats, either by pressing J to vaccume the loot up, dragging it onto them from your inventory, or setting up automatic loot vaporization in your game options.

Team-Ups: While not technically gear, Team-Ups are AI-controlled characters that you can unlock via Eternity Splinters or by purchasing them with Gs (real money) in the in-game store. They have their own gear slots, their own gear types, their own skills, and their own inventory space. They're due for a rework soon though so I would hold off on getting more than one.

How about this Crafting thing?

You've got 2 basic categories of crafting: Your Enchanter and Crafter.

Your Enchanter crafts Runes, Runewords, and Blessings:
Runes: Adds a rune to one of your Gears in slots 1-5. Gives a small stat buff. Scales to item level.

Runewords: Powerful combinations of stats that can be added to your Uru-Forged item, requiring specific runes to make. Some are very strong. Scales to Uru-Forged level.

Blessings: Attach to Artifacts and provide some very useful buffs. Used as a trade currency, and cost Odin Marks (100 each)

Your Crafter has a large amount of items and effects available to craft. Some highlights:

Unique Exchange: Trade in multiple of the same Unique for something else. You can turn them into other Uniques, into credits, into Relics, all sorts of stuff. The only cost is the Uniques themselves, so it's really nice for avoiding clutter in your stash.

Add Affixes To Costume: Each costume has 4 Affix slots that you can roll on. This is the main credit sink in the game(other than rerolling rare items). These affixes scale up to the level of Core added to the costume.

Costume Blender: Destroy 3 Costumes to get a new random costume. Used largely with duplicate costumes received from Prestiging, or defaults replaced after buying one from the store.

Lazyman’s Guide to Leveling: The 1-59 Experience for All Chars
Will link this on page 1, my post and will keep updated for future

So, you don't care about endgame with your character and just want to level eh? EHHHHH

I'm giving you a guide to leveling and leveling only. You're going to level quickly and you're going to level efficiently. And it is not going to require anything BiS or even relatively "good" for that matter.

Let's get you started.

GEAR for all ALL characters

Medallion: Mole Man OR Magneto.
Runeword: Seer's Brilliance or Brigand's Fortune
Relics: Who cares
Legendary: M'kraan Crystal, especially if you prestige again. Makes life so easy. Buy one, unbind it each time for next char.
Ring: I don't care and I never worry about it. I pick up whatever is on the ground.
Artifacts: Here's where things get funny-

Lvl 13: Skrull Targeting Computer-Ever wanted to do 425DR at lvl 13? You will with this. Use it every time you're low level.
LVL 13: AIM Robot Dispenser- Take the heat off you and summon these two robots every chance you get. Helps with that STC I mentioned above.
Lvl 19: Hammer Ordinance- +100 DR. DR is incredible early. Fast damage quickly.
Spirit intensive: Mark of the Odinborn and Scrolls of Pama. If you find a Scrolls, YOU EQUIP IT.
Lvl 45: Xerogen Crystal- goes on all your chars. Don't question it. You're not endgame, you're leveling and this is superior.

Lvl 39: Pluvian Superconductor—since these builds are AoE intensive, please equip this thing. +500 DR says you’re welcome.

If physical: Lvl 27: Crimson Crystal of Cyttorak- Health and 220s DR? Done.
If energy: Lvl 27: Phoenix Feather. Energy DR and second life. Keeps you moving quickly.

Crystal of Kadavus: Rare but you'll be using a basic often enough.

Amulet of Qioux: LOL JK, report this item dropping to Mr Gaz and ask for a new item to drop instead.

Slots 1-5: All cosmics/uniques, just pick up any ya find and don't even care about the skills. Just take the highest DR. We don't have time to analyze poo poo because it's not like you'll be Lvl 21 for long anyway.

Insignia: Whatever you find

Costume: something pretty. You want to look good at all times. Make a good first impression.

Pet: +3 Int, I don't care about the rest.

Synergies: always Loki, Cyke, Gambit, Deadpool, Storm, Squirrel Girl, Daredevil, and then whatever tickles your fancy. Be optimal later.

Teamup: Always remains out and it needs to be Melee focused. No melee, means you'll be targeted more. I use Drax exclusively because he looks like Hyulk and that amuses me.

My Key Setup

I played a lot of Diablo games when I was that ARPG-aholic. With that said, I didn’t ever get into the MOBA setup like we have in game. I do LMB1-6RMB as my 8 keys. 1 is ALWAYS my movement key as I do majority of my movements with my middle and ring fingers. I also have an MMO mouse so 1 is that dedicated key. 5 is always my signature key. It allows me to be consistent and not have to think when I switch between multiple chars. 2 is AoE always. LMB is the basic, RMB is a main skill. 6 is long cooldown skills because really, the 6 sits in the weirdest place on my mouse. I have just trained myself to know the purpose of my keys. Just some insight.

BUILDS

The goal here is simple. You must take a wide range AoE that is quick and Max a basic for Spirit regen. In most cases here too, we will just take a couple skills on the hot bar and that is all.

Ie: If I were old Big Pun, it's Deadly Barrage, a basic and his passives. That's all. Go paint the town red.

You lighthouse everything. Lighthouse is go in the middle of a pack, spin around using your AoE and move on. Deadly Barrage and Optic Beam are examples of great channeling AoE skills for this.

One note: If the character HAS A TRAVEL POWER, 1 point it. Please know that for all builds.

Second note: Most passives get a 1 point. Just think to do that unless noted. What is it, 12 skill points we acquire? 150 skill points to start with it.

*Also note: I will update with rotation later if ya want that. All this works and works very efficiently, even for the chars I hate. Enjoy and ask questions!

Black Panther: Sexual Chocolate

Won't be easy. Slow movement, spirit drains easy, AoE is middling.

20 Fan of Knives
20 Claw Slash
20 Panther Soul
20 Panther Grace
20 Signature
20 Predator's Frenzy
20 Dora the Explorer
1 Blessing of Bast

Black Widow: Trinity

See Black Panther. Only upside is better AoE options. Squishy when leveling compared to others.

20 Red Room Reflexes
1 Twilight Cloaking Device
20 Snap Shot
20 Rolling Grenades
20 Deadly Blade
20 Widow's Kiss
20 Coup de Grace
1 Kevlar

Cable: Caleb

Breeze to level. DoT machine. He goes by my patented Ronco Showtime: Set It and Forget technique, that Scourm cannot take away from me because it's patent, playboy.

20 Psychic Haze
1 Orange Aura
20 Energy Pulse
20 Veteran Warrior
20 TeleKinetic Barrier
1 Quick Bodyslide
20 Vortex Grenade
20 Telekinetic Mastery
20 Techno-Organic Reconstruction

Captain America: El Capitan de Estados Unidos

Facetank everything in the game. Such a monster to level now.

20 Shield Swipe
20 Star-Spangled Banner
20 Torqued Shield Throw
20 Shield Expertise
20 Vibranium Bash
1 Indestructible Shield

Bash on bosses, Throw and Banner on trash, Swipe in packs. Get enemies in clusters and go to town.

Colossus: Big Metal Baby

Used to think this guy was slow, but then learned how to move fast with him. Dude brings the hammer with excellent Brutal Strikes. Let’s get to work.

20 Reeling Punch
20 Colossal Punch
20 Osmium Champion
20 Osmium Skin
20 Osmium Charge
20 Titanic Slam
20 Katy Perry’s Classic Hit ‘Roar’
1 Inspiring Battlecry
1 Magik City

For moving quick, use Titanic Slam to leap over fences and what not. Charge into everything. Movement is his fastest spec for leveling hands down.

Cyclops: Scotty

Monster AoE, basically is ALL AoE. Definitely a top 5 easy leveling experience.

20 Ricochet
20 Optic Beam
20 Optic Devastation
20 Visor Off
20 Martial Arts
20 Angel
20 Force Multiplier
1 Overwatch
1 By the Numbers

Go to town and lighthouse Optic Beam. When spirit runs out, use Ricochet Blast. Use Angel in packs ever so often too. Use everything else on bosses.

Daredevil: Batman (seriously, this guy sound dead on Batman Christian Bale)

Without a doubt one of the bottom 3 leveling experiences in the game. The AoE is just bad compared to everybody else. Way too many skills all over the place. Let’s condense this.

20 Nunchuck Beatdown
20 Devil’s Due
20 Rebounding Club
20 Devil of Hell’s Kitchen
20 Jumping Strike
20 Relentless Justice
20 Street Sweeper
1 Radar Sense
1 Heroic Leap
1 Spinning Hook Kick

I street sweep forever on packs and Devil’s Due when need be as well. Jumping Strike on bosses. Nunchuck til I fall out. That’s really the best it’s gonna get too.

Deadpool: Cabinboy

Such an easy leveling experience despite being bottom endgame. Just watch this.

20 Shoot All the Bullets
20 Big Ol Stab
20 Flesh Wound
20 Stink Bomb
20 Foot Gougers
20 Superior Healing Factor
1 God Mode

Shoot All the Bullets, literally. All day on everything. Heck, you could literally use this skill and this skill only and still do fine. Big Ol Stab and Flesh Wound bosses. Use everything else as layers. Deal with it on this but Deadpool is one of the easiest leveling experiences and it’s on you if you are having problems.

Dr. Strange:

AoE galore, holy jeez. Way too many skills though for endgame, so let’s just keep it condensed.

20 Flames of Faltine
20 Demons of Denak
20 Icy Tendrils
20 Vapors of Valtorr
20 Dreamwalking
20 All-Seeing Eye
1 Seal of Vishanti
1 Orb of Agamotto
1 Shield of Seraphim
1 Seven Rings of Raggadorr

If you don’t want to hotkey the 1 skills, don’t. Just use your teleport that’s already skilled up and rotate all the others. Keep the one point dedicated to his basic if ya have spirit issues. You shouldn’t if you use the Scrolls of Pama, Mark of Odinborn and other spirit intensive artis. Use them because his damage excels even with little gear.

Emma Frost: Frostitute

Got this one skill that dominates called Psychic Blast and it’s basically all I use for AoE. Absolutely dominates.

20 Psychic Blast
20 Drain Psyche
20 Unlock Potential
20 Kneel Before Me
20 Sudden Dread
20 Perfection
1 Lustrous Lunge

You never know when you’ll be in and out of diamond form with the stupid dash, so just max them both. Psychic Blast everything and Drain Psyche on bosses. Enjoy life.

Gambit: Gumbo/The Bulge

The Cajun sensation is here to crush hopes and dreams by eating all the boudin and having enough crawfish boils to last a life time. But don’t call them crayfish or else….

20 Bo Strike
20 Savate Expert
20 Bo Beatdown
20 Bo Vault
20 Royal Flush
20 52 Card Pick Up
1 Sleight of Hand
20 Ragin Cajun
1 Cheat Death
1 Sticky Fingers

While ranged is great, his melee spec is honestly quicker to level. We got some weird start-up animations on ranged that just slow him down. Melee is truly more fluid and quicker when you start timing things here. Only skill worth it though is Royal Flush for AoE, so let it ride!

Ghost Rider: Skeletor

I know we call him GR, but can we just go with OP?

20 Chain Thrash
1 Judgment
20 Hellfire
20 Chains Ablaze
20 Penance Stare
20 Protect the Innocent
20 Spirit of Vengeance
1 Infernal Contract
20 Hell from Above

I’m crazy I know. I one-point the monstrous Judgment. Fact of the matter is this, Chain Thrash will handle the bosses on the leveling experience and you’ll never die. Judgment is a slow attack. Chain Thrash is not. I did 4 prestiges using ONLY Chain Thrash and Hellfire. I didn’t die once and you can too. Enjoy.

Hawkeye: Clintoris Barton

Absolute breeze to level despite the hate. One of my first yellows (2nd one!) and I think I pressed 3 buttons all together.

20 Three Round Burst
1 Twin Pym Arrow
20 World’s Greatest Archer
20 Precise Aim
1 Flash Bomb
20 Nerve Gas Arrow
20 Freeze Arrow
20 Starktech Claymore Arrow

Pop and drop is the name of the game. Pop NGA, walk away. Pop NGA, walk to the next pack. He’s just an AoE machine and 3RB can be on bosses. Use the teamup though, he does need it.

Hulk: Hyulkhyulkhyulk

Can I just say put 0 points into skills and just gear only? Most OP in the game. What’s the ttk on this guy, -5s?? I think so.

20 Tremor Fist
20 Avalanche Leap
20 Gamma Strike
20 Handclaps
20 Cargloves

Nuff Said. I literally use 1 button with this. Avalanche Leap. I leap into every pack and that’s all I do. For hours on end. Bosses I just use everything else. Yep, that’s the riveting, engaging gameplay of Mr. hyulkhyulkhyulk.

Human Torch: Herman Torch

Our first Inhumans player in the game! And obviously, one of the bestest ever. He laughs when he fires up people. Totes rude.

20 Incinerating Blast
20 Extreme Combustion
20 Protective Flames
20 Searing Arcfire
1 Thermal Intensity
20 Flame On
20 Scorching Wall
20 Fuel for the Flame

Arcfire can go on forever and do great if spirit is a problem. I use IB all day and that’s all I do. I turned him into a one button warrior and it rocks. Dash in, live the dream.

Iceman: Yellowsnow

It’s important to take Iceman yellow. Rofl. Get it? I slay me.

20 Construct Focus
20 Ice Golem
20 Absolute Zero
20 Work of Art
20 Ice Beam
20 Ice Slick

That’s basically all I do. I Ice Beam till I fall out, drop AoE everywhere and let my golems do their thing. I hit Construct Focus every time it is up and it works like a charm. So fast, so furious.

Invisible Woman: Mom/Susan

Got herself a very nice QoL and some changes to her original build. This should get ya through no problem.

20 Suffocate
20 Storm of Spheres
20 Quantum Compression
20 THE CRUSHER.
20 Resonating Wave
20 Invisible Combat
20 Crashing Wave Style
1 Personal Force Field

Iron Man: Ironing Man

Very versatile character and so many ways to level him. Let me just take what works easiest.

20 Death From Above
20 Jet Thrusted Punch
20 Jericho Bombardment
20 Channeled Repulsors
20 Arc Reactor Enhancement
20 Micro Missiles
20 Adaptive Armor
1 Arc Reactor Overload

Repulsors on trash, missiles on the move, DfA also on big trash packs and movement. The rest on boss. Always found him very easy to level.

Jean Grey: Birdlady

When I leveled, she was my first red. This was nearly two years ago. However, I still keep it easy on this bird woman, so here goes.

20 Unleash Phoenix
20 Dark Phoenix
20 Phoenix Charge
20 Phoenix Inferno
20 Crushing Telekinesis
20 Phoenix Corona
1 Rejuvenating Aura
20 Telepathic Detection

I found her review so uninspired and she is such a disappointment to me now. One of my least favorite chars, but she does get the job done very nicely.

Juggernaut: Huggy

What an adorable man. But also a monster of a specimen. Top 5 leveling experiences? Uhhm, yes.

20 Lariat
20 Can’t Be Stopped
20 Crimson Force Field
20 Big Elbow Drop
1 Don’t You Know Who I Am
20 Human Juggernaut
20 Enter the Fray
20 Unstoppable Charge
1 Scion of Cyttorak

I literally use one skill with this guy: Lariat. It does the deed. Big Elbow Drop into packs, sig on the boss. Game over.

Loki: Lolki

So bad rofl. Just kidding, we’ve learned that he is pretty awesome and with a review due after the 52s, we could see something really awesome. If he deserved any nickname at all, it should be Signature, because his entire damage is in his sig.

20 Spatial Deception
20 Jotun Blood
20 Master Sorceror
20 Arcane Shield
20 Winter’s Breath
20 Permaforst Spikes
20 Unyielding Power
1 Cold Snap
1 Arcane Levitation

Basically, you pop your sig, run into all the enemies immediately entering a term. Get to boss, get the sig back and pop again. Have yourself a time. To quote AfraidofAudio, “Did you know ikol spells Loki backwards?” haha!

Luke Cage: Lucas

Beast man. Nick is the embodiment of Lucas P. Cage, and has a fascinating guide as we all most likely know. Here’s just a brief shot from me for easy reference.

20 Cage Was Here
1 Colleen Wing
20 Hero’s Call
20 Harlem Dropkick
20 Chain Yank
20 Vehicular Manslaughter
20 Superhuman Leverage
20 Combo Fighter
1 Unbreakable Skin
1 Belt Buckle

Just go hog wild on the combos, throw your summons up to take the heat off ya and let it ride. Dude is an absolute no-brainer to play. Nobody plays this guy because he’s

Magneto: Mangeto/Magento

Seriously, publords cannot spell this guy’s name to this day. I get it, Matneg is one of the hardest words to spell. Magent. Mgtena. Oh whatever.

20 Storm of Steel
20 Metal Tempest
20 Indomitable
20 Blunt Instrument
20 God Among Insects
20 Meat Grinder
1 Electromagnetic Field
20 Waste Not

black. Magento is so overpowered as well and his sig alone will get rid of most bosses in one fell swoop. Metal Tempest is easy AoE and Meat Grinder adds to it. All his skills, despite being AoE, work great on single target too and that’s a wrap. I lighthouse Metal Tempest and fly to the moon.

[i/]Moon Knight: Moon King[/i]

Our Super 88 winner! But you know what, a powerful, powerful character that has been overlooked too much. Easily a top 5 char in the game and extreme joy to level. One of my favorites now.

20 Crescent Fan
20 Spiked Gauntlets
20 Cestus Spiked Gauntlets
20 Fist of Khonshu
20 Avatar of Vengeance
20 Carbonadium Armor
20 Gruesome Frenzy
1 Multiple Personalities
1 Statue of Khonshu

Fan everything in front of you. Sig on boss. I guess that’s actually all you need…so pretend I didn’t even make a skill tree for ya here.

Mr. Fantastic: The Slappening

The Slap is such a fine human being and I’m sure it translates very well into his interaction with enemies and non-friendlies. Gotta be honest, dude is a slog to level. So challenging. But that single target?? Mmmm.

20 Super Stomp
20 Inflate
20 Outwit
1 Herbie
20 Spectacular Spheroid
20 Elastic Barrage
20 Elasti-Punch
1 Elastic Body
20 Stretch Dash

Go in, stomp the yard. Inflate the yard of the next pack. Barrage the yard. Then go to boss and Spheroid the yard. I dash through packs too because that works very well for a guy who moves slow and sticky-like…the yard.

Ms. Marvel: Carol

Weirdest dash ever. Makes her kinda crap to level because of that. Really slow attacks too good grief. I’d say a bottom 5 leveling experience.

20 Infused Uppercut
20 Cosmic Haymaker
20 Radiant Cascade
20 Kree Toughness
20 Crashdown Strike
1 Warbird Charge
1 Flight of the Warbird
1 Photonic Regeneration
20 Photonic Devastation
20 Photon Punch

It’s really strange in that she is so weak from 1-30. Then, you can obviously change things with Omegas. She starts to get really strong after 47 of course. It’s just a shame that for 13 levels, you start to feel real power.

Nightcrawler: Fuzzy Blue Elf/Smurf

When Mr. Gaz tells me Quicksilver can’t be playable because they can’t translate speed into this game, I select NC and teleport as fast as I can to another side of the map. Then I laugh. His leveling experience is actually pretty easy. His endgame build is COMPLETELY different. Follow me if you’re fast enough.

20 Swashbuckler Slash
20 Infernal Brimstone
1 Incredible Acrobatics
20 One Step Ahead
20 Heartseeker Guard
20 X-Slash
20 Master Swordsman
20 Death Blow

I literally do this rotation on trash: Teleport>Brimstone>Teleport>Brimstone and that’s it. Then I get over to bosses and do the sword stuff. On the 1-59 experience, he is one of the fastest levelers despite his (I hate this word because usually it just means you’re trash and want to facetank everything) “squishiness”, but you shouldn’t have problems here. 60 is a different beast altogether.

Nova: Nova

Dude’s name is 4 letters long, there is no nickname deemed worthy enough for this gentleman. Loved Nova as a youngster and he is all that and a bag of tater chips now. On with the show.

20 Cosmic Combo
20 Rocket Speed
20 Nova Beam
20 Falling Star
20 Supernova
20 Worldmind Assistance
1 Nova Barrier
20 Blast Off!

Make use of his movement stuff. I don’t use Pulsars because they’re too long of a startup cast. I don’t have time for that. He has an excellent dash and you can just slam through stuff with that and Falling Star packs. Nova Beam like a lighthouse and all trash is down. It also has a longer radius than all over beams! Crazy huh?

Psylocke: Waifu

The original Waifu draws near. And boy, is she a beast. Why is she a beast? Let’s just blame HarryTasker and a ravenous community…yeah that works. She is so simple to level. True definition of a “bossmelter”.

20 Psionic Assault
20 Falling Lotus Strike
20 Deadly Assassin
20 Assassinate
20 Telekinetic Prowess
20 Ethereal Butterflies
20 Kirisute Gomen
20 Kitana Typhoon
1 Psionic Projection
1 Psionic Resilience

You won’t have all the points for this, so just 1 point Prowess if ya need to. Everything else will get the job way, way done.

Punisher: Big Pun

Total 180 on his review. Jeez where do we begin? You’ll defeat enemies before even going into first rotation.

20 Rapid Reload
20 Full Auto
20 The Davy Crockett
20 Ol Painless
20 Magnum
20 Buckshot Blast
1 Pain Tolerance
20 Rocket Propeller Grenade

Honestly, just do the first two skills and let that be that. Full Auto is so beastly on the trash. Just use everything else on the boss. Enjoy yourself, Franklins.

Rocket Raccoon: Leowyld/Leo/Racon/Roxette/Racooon

Publords can’t spell raccoon either, so thanks for the laughs community. I hate this guy. I’m sorry fans of the racon, but I just can’t. They’re fun to give chin scratches too and belly rubs but that’s about it. My canon is ruined knowing that this racon can walk and talk like a person. They’ve never done that for me when I give them kibbles so yeah, I’m very unsatisfied here. I called PETA to let them know about all this mischief in Mr Gaz’s game.

20 Big Flarkin Gun
1 I AM GROOT
20 Razor Sharp Wits
20 H7 Fleetslayer
20 Assault Specializations
1 Keen Planning
20 M78 Plasma Launcher
20 Photon Pistols
20 Photon Minigun

Yeah gun spec is what’s up here. Groot will tank, you will use Skrull Targeting Computer and you will destroy things. Ugh, racon.

Rouge: Rogue

Rouge is from Mississippi, a horrible state. I can’t believe people live there and I say this as a Louisiana guy. With that said, she is also a monster in this and her leveling build is all over the place. Here’s how I’ll word this as she steals powers ya know.

1 Kirigi
20 She-Hulk
1 Punisher
20 Cable
20 Storm
20 Gambit
20 Bullseye
20 Drax
20 Crushing Blows

I like melee and that’s what I do playboy. This will change over time as chars are released but here’s a start. Storm is your AoE, Crushing Blows is how you end it all.

Scarlet Witch: Scarlet Waifu

As a scholar in all things waifu, this is our red waifu. Green waifu is She-Hulk. Purple Waifu is Psylocke. Waifurine is Waifurine you get the drill. Think Mortal Kombat, the ninjas. Anyway, due for a review very soon, so to be honest, I’m leaving this blank. She is great though and was a runner up in our Super 88, really showing her potential.

She-Hulk: Graifu

Combo point brawler. Very strong even on release. Great work again Mr Mayhem.

20 Move to Strike
20 Bar Exam
20 Final Verdict
20 Conviction
20 Lawyer Up
1 Defense Attorney
20 Objection
20 Contempt of Court
1 Cease and Desist

Silver Surfer: Nudeboy

Rofl where do I begin? Best character in the game bar none. Best leveler in the game. Overall #1 and that’s the facts.

20 Board Dash
20 Death From Below
20 Event Horizon
20 Power Unconquered
20 Repulse
1 Subspace Slipstream
20 Comet’s Tail
1 Cosmic Resonance
1 Temporal Recall

Board Dash through everything. Repulse that boss. Man, just equip those two and you’re basically set. Easiest char in the game. Truly requires no skill whatsoever. Feels good.

Spider-Man: Spooder/Spoder

One of the first 52 reviews and it shows. Little slow when he should be faster, but here goes.

20 Spider Brawl
20 Constrictive Webbing
20 Web Spray
20 Spider to the Fly
20 Superior Agility
20 Amazing Smash
1 Spider Sense
1 Agile Attack
20 Spider Strike

Keep it simple with Web Spray all over the enemies, hop around and spider brawl bosses to death. Dude needs a review badly.

Squirrel Girl: 15 Little Turds

She summons 15 squirrels turds to do her bidding for her. Yes, mobile turds that attack and defeat enemies. When I zoom in though, they look like squirrels? I can’t tell what Mr Gaz was going for with this char. Starts slow, finishes with a BANG.

20 Death from the Trees
20 Squirrel
20 Sic Em
20 Hulkbuster Squirrels
1 Squirrel Heart
20 Squirrel Cunning
20 Squirrel Special Forces
1 Squirrel Distraction
20 Squirrel Friend

Yeah that’s basically all I do and things just fall down. Those turds are powerful. DftT for AoE, let the squirrels do your bidding and press lots of buttons. Enjoy!

Star-Lord: Star-Turd

I hate this guy. I really, really, really do not like him in this game. What’s this guy’s defense, -500? Awesome dash, awesome AoE, but come on, he can’t take a hit to save his life even with 5 full uniques. Welp, onward and upward they say.

20 Strafe
20 Incendiary Cluster Bomb
20 Cryogrenade
1 Spartoi Gift
20 Orbital Strike
20 Starship Uplink
20 Air
20 Elemental Shot

I would put Suppressing Fire here too but lvl 42. Weak. And elementals rule. They do, but we’re leveling here and this gets the job done. AoE galore, but just watch out for taking hits. I play Star-Turd like this is Frogger and well, it just doesn’t click for me. Maybe it will for you!

Storm: strom

Stromboli is a great dish. It tastes great with the red sau..oh wait this is Storm. Ok she is a great dish too. Plays great in all areas and really godly in the leveling department. A grade right here.

20 Arcing Tempest
20 Crashing Hail
1 Obscuring Fog
20 Typhoon
1 Healing Winds
20 Microburst
20 Lightning Column
20 Electrocute

That’s all I do. Crashing Hail til I cash out, keep the tempest on and Electrocute and Microburst some bosses. Typhoon large packs. AoE dream over here.

Taskmaster: Taxmaster/Taxi

He can be so much more. He honestly does have a very cool kit, and he is pretty good at the leveling stuff. Endgame is a different story.

20 Hawkeye
20 Daredevil
20 Action!
20 Deadly Volley
20 Three Round Burst
20 Nerve Gas Arrow
20 Foeslayer’s Strike
20 Dismember

You can knock Action down to 1, believe me. Deadly Volley will handle the business and then his Daredevil skill take care of the single-target. Makes life easy. Don’t forget your toggles!

Thing: THE THING!

Ha, let’s see. How to level Thing…hmm. Oh I know, movement only!

20 Rockslide Charge
20 Jagged Defender
20 Granite Defense
20 Hard as a Rock
1 Aggressive Aura
1 Steadfast Aura
20 Clobberin’ Time
20 Backhand Smash
20 Crashing Leap

I literally press 2 buttons only. Rockslide Charge and Crashing Leap when I move to clear trash. I do everything else on bosses. Truly can be played if you a triplegic.

Thor: Fabio

God this guy’s hair is so dreamy. It flows so nicely. Dude is a superheromodel. He also has a beast kit. Now, I admit, I don’t care for Thor in this but I respect his beastmode.

20 Forked Lightning
20 Asgardian Smite
20 Son of Odin
20 The Anti-Force
20 Storm Strike
20 For Asgard

And really, he has so many excellent skills. I actually think he is top 3 for most diversity and useful skills in the game. It’s so hard to go wrong with this guy. I use Forked Lightning because it’s a lighthouse move. Remember, for any new guys, that means channeling in a pack and spinning around. Excellent on trash.

Venom: Vernon

A single-target dream. Great ranged and melee build out there. For this one, we focus on melee mainly with a small ranged skill.

20 Predator’s Web
20 We Are Indestructible
20 We Are Powerful
20 We Are Lethal
20 Symbiotic Spikes
20 Deadly Maw
20 Hungry Maw
20 Come To Venom

You can 1 point Hungry Maw if ya want. Yep, nuff said. Good luck dying because you won’t.

Winter Soldier: Buffy

This guy is such a wild card. His whole development just spews uninspired and basic, basic, basic. When I think of Buffy, I think ‘meh’. Doesn’t mean he isn’t a beast though.

20 Suppressing Fire
20 Relentless Pursuit
20 Bionic Combat
20 Magnetic Disc Mine
20 Bionic Haymaker
20 Bionic Shockwave
20 Dispatch
1 Withering Fire
1 Concealed Combat
1 EMP Surge

Rotation is basically Shockwave a pack, Suppressing Fire anything remaining as a lighthouse. Boss is Withering Fire, Shockwave, Concealed, some Haymakers, Dispatch, pray they die before you do.

Wolverine: Wolferine

A classic and one of my favorite characters of all-time. Now, I’m not on davebo levels here, but I do love me some Wolferine. He is a beautiful baby man. And I love him in game too. I do admit, he is one of the tougher chars to level.

20 Bloody Sweep
20 Crimson Leap
20 Eviscerate
20 Impale
20 Furious Assault
20 Bloody Claws
20 Chudan-No-Kamae
1 Can’t Keep Me Down
1 Adamantium Skeleton
1 Wetwork
1 Feral Roar
1 Unstoppable Beast

Yeah this’ll get the job done. Crimson Leap through all packs and just set-it and forget-it. The dot should do the rest. If not, Sweep them. Use all others on bosses.

X-23: Waifurine

The Waifurine is the superior Wolferine and no I’m not kidding. She really is better in this game. We can chalk that up to her beauty, education and superior technology her being released way later after Wolferine when Mr Gaz learned some things. Top 10 leveling experience.

20 Dancing Blades
20 Crimson Sweep
20 Rip to Shreds
20 Disembowel
20 Cleaving Claws
20 Ferocious Stance
20 Seeing Red

Like Thor, she is one of the most diverse in game. Her movement spec rules. Her hybrid rules. I’d have to list a lot of stuff here for us, but I want to highlight a build that works. This works and will get ya over the hill.

Edit notes

*Will update rotations in future.
*Will organize skill chart in numerical order.
*Will update Invisible Woman.
*Will update number of Skill Points used.

Axis Raid: Encounter 1
Brutalitying the Sentinels

Two Stark Sentinels to defeat - Stark Sentinel Beta (north), Stark Sentinel Alpha (south).
Two Mini-Sentinels spawn at 66% and 33%
The mini-Sentinels spawn independently of each other.
They spawn at the location of whoever the Stark Sentinel last did damage to.
They will spawn when each Stark Sentinel reaches 66% and 33%, e.g. When Sentinel Alpha is at 70% and Sentinel Beta is at 66%, mini-Sentinels spawn at Sentinel Beta but not Sentinel Alpha until that Sentinel reaches 66%.
North are weak to AoE attacks, South are resistant to AoE attacks.
This encounter has an 8 minute enrage timer.
Attacks:

Stark Sentinels:

Single Target Beam - This will lock onto whoever is farthest away and hit them multiple times. When the laser beam is fired at you, it will leave a small fire puddle that is a ground DoT. This can target some pets, but not all, so don't rely on pets to soak any damage.

Freeze - If you are in Melee range, you can be targeted by this. This gives a minor slow debuff.

Flamethrower - If you are mid-ranged, you can be targeted by this. This attack also leaves a ground DoT.

AoE Shockwave - A pinwheel telegraph will appear centered on the Stark Sentinel and radiate outwards and rotate briefly. Once it stops rotating, stay out of the red-colored areas, as that's where the damage will be. There is no telegraphed indicator that shows you will take damage directly under Stark Sentinels feet, but you will still take damage there.

Mini-Sentinels

Single Beam Attack
All typical sentinel attacks
Buffs/Debuffs:

Sentinel Shield - While mini-Sentinels are summoned, Stark Sentinels are shielded and cannot be damaged.

Damage Buff/Debuff - Stark Sentinels place an irresistible buff/debuff on all players. This buff/debuff increases the damage a player does to Stark Sentinels, but also increases the damage Stark Sentinels do to the player. The North buff/debuff is a physical damage DoT. The South buff/debuff is an energy damage DoT. This is similar to Muspelheim's Monolith stacking buff/debuff.

Strategy:

Have your raid split into 2 groups, with 5 heroes north and 5 heroes south.
Heroes with strong AoE attacks start north and heroes with strong single-target attacks start south.

Attack and DPS the Stark Sentinels. As a hero does damage, they will gain more stacks of the buff/debuff.

IMPORTANT: It is at a player's discretion when they need to swap Stark Sentinel targets. Some heroes will be able to have more stacks of the buff/debuff than others. The goal for each player is to stay as long on one target as they can without dying. When your buff/debuff stacks are ticking for too much damage and you can't sustain the damage, swap to the other Stark Sentinel to let some stacks wear off. It is very important to be responsible for yourself and not die due to excessive stacks.

At 66% and 33% for each Stark Sentinel, mini-Sentinels will spawn. These mini-Sentinels will spawn on whoever was last targeted by a Stark Sentinel. You can use this to your advantage and have the mini-Sentinels spawn in the middle area, allowing them to be killed easier by more people.

Have your AoE heavy group attack the mini-Sentinels weak to AoE, and your single-target group attack the mini-Sentinels resistant to AoE.

Once your groups mini-Sentinels are defeated, resume damage on the Stark Sentinels.

Note: Stark Sentinels will begin to heal if there is no one at them.

Tip and Tricks:

Health Sustain

Health Sustain is highly important in this encounter. There are a lot of attacks and damage coming at you and simply having a lot of hit points isn't going to help you. You need ways to replenish your hit points while you fight. Here are some ways to help with Health Sustain:

Smart medkit use. Medkits are a very important part of MH and become even more important in content where you're taking damage from all sides and you can't always avoid it. Learn to time your medkit use so that you don't "waste" any of it. If you're raiding you should have a 25% HP/Spirit on medkit use core for any hero with any spirit issues and optionally a 400 LoH medkit if they're completely spirit neutral. Make sure those cores are loaded because you'll need them.

Life on Hit. Life on Hit is a very important part of some heroes kits. Heroes like Venom, and Invisible Woman all have LoH in their kids but it shows up in different ways. For heroes like Venom and Scarlet Witch, they can regain health quickly by using certain attacks against groups of enemies. Invisible Woman has Life on Hit on one of her passives, and she regains HP by hitting any mobs with any of her skills. There are also items with LoH on them like the Twilight Fragment. Another way to get LoH is by putting Lemuria relics on your hero. However you decide to do it, LoH is a VERY good idea in Genosha as you're going to be taking more damage from far more sources than we did in Muspelheim and you can't avoid it all.
Heal Powers. There are heroes that have self-healing powers, like Iceman with his Ice Block or Doctor Strange with his Shield of the Seraphim. These powers are incredibly useful to have when approaching a raid like Axis and you should practice weaving them into your rotations as needed because they can, and will, save your life.

Omegas. There are some Omegas that heal you, the most common one is the Angel node in the Mutations tab. A lot of people are running around with this already since it's the prerequisite to the incredibly popular Warpath node. One point in it won't do much, but it's just an example of Omega options for healing.
Regen. There are some heroes that have ridiculous amounts of innate regen or passives that give regen and give even more when they're activated. Examples of this are X-23, Wolverine, and Deadpool.

Communication:

Communication will help make this encounter easier. Things to communicate are: when you are swapping to the other Stark Sentinel, and to ensure AoE heroes are attacking the mini-Sentinels weak to AoE attacks. Ideally, you want to have your raid group split between the Alpha and Beta Stark Sentinels, so the Stark Sentinels have multiple targets to attack and not only a couple people being targeted, as that damage will add up quickly.

Axis Raid: Saving Shield and Pals
A guide to encounter 2

GREEN RAID VERSION

Features:

3 Pylons located to the left, middle, and right - These will be charged by the Agents.

3 Agents located at the zone-in - They will follow anyone who gets near them and charge the Pylons when near them.

A Shielded Onslaught in the upper-middle area - The goal is to 'defeat' the Shield to release Onslaught, the final encounter

Important Enemies:

Mechs

Lock On - A mech will target a single player or Agent and do a ton of damage. A player with this ability targeted on them will have the words "LOCKED ON" above their head in white letters. The letters can be hard to see, so pay close attention and be ready to take a lot of damage.
Sappers

When any Sapper is present, they will stop the Agent from powering up a Pylon. They must be defeated quickly.
Strategy:

Have your raid split into 3 teams, one for each Pylon. Try to have at least one heavy AoE hero in each group, to help defend the Agents from all the mobs that spawn constantly. Also try to have at least one heavy single-target hero in each group, to help primarily with the Sappers.

Have someone from each group bring an Agent to their Pylon, and the Agent will begin powering up the Pylon. It doesn't matter who brings Agents over.

Each group must defend their Agent and their Pylon. Agents will only power up the Pylon when no Sappers are present, so priority goes to killing Sappers anytime they are up.

If an Agent dies (and they likely will), have someone run over to the entrance and grab another Agent and bring it back to the Pylon. You can never run out of Agents.

Various mobs will spawn in waves. Trash mobs (white) spawn fairly regularly, and are easy to AoE down. Mechs spawn as the next wave and have much more hit points and have the Locked On ability. If an Agent is targeted by Locked On, they will likely die and need to be replaced. The last wave type is Sappers. Sappers spawn after the Shield is at 60%. Sappers will cause your Agents to stop powering up the Pylons completely and must be killing immediately. As long as any Sapper is up nearby an Agent, the Agent will not power the Pylon. These waves repeat for the duration of the encounter.

Once all three Pylons are charged (you can see this information in the Raid Bar at the top of the screen), it is time to click the Pylons to damage the Shield. You must have an Agent at the Pylon in order to click it. If an Agent dies, you will need to get another one before you can click. Also, you can be interrupted when clicking - it is a channeled activation. TIP: You can use an Invuln Core right before you click and be invulnerable throughout the clicking process.

The damage to the Shield is based on how many Pylons are activated at the same time. The first Pylon takes the shield down, the second Pylon will do 10% damage (if 2 are used at the same time), and the third Pylon will do 25% (if 3 are used at the same time).

When you click a Pylon, it is "On" for 10 seconds. If you click 1 Pylon, it will take down the Shield. If you click a second Pylon 3 seconds later, it will do only 7% damage since the Shield will be back up for the last 3 seconds of its duration. Therefore, it is critical to coordinate your clicking of the Pylons and have them all active at the same time.

Rinse and Repeat until the Shield is down.

Axis Raid Encounter 3: The Slaughter of the Onslaught

GREEN RAID VERSION

Features:

Onslaught in the middle of the area
2 raised platforms on either side of him, and a middle platform not raised
Attacks:

Arrow Attack - Large, telegraphed attack marked by an arrow on the ground that will hit half the encounter area.

Prison Attack - Onslaught places a hero into a Prison Shell. If you use a CC break to remove it, you get a debuff. If you use Lock On attack to break the Prison Shell, no debuff is gained.

Lock On Attack - Onslaught targets a hero and place a giant eyes icon above your head. If you go directly behind a person in a Prison Shell, it will break the Prison Shell and release the player. This ability is cast in a straight line, so can be side-stepped if there is no Prison Shell.

Rift Attack - Ground-based AoE attack that has the same icon as Silver Surfer's Subspace Rift ability. Can be avoided by stepping out of it.

Mental Orb Attack - Onslaught summons a Mental Orb that will follow players around and explode when it touches a player. He receives this ability at 60%.
Laser Beam Attack - Onslaught casts Laser Beams out of his eyes. These leave a lingering ground DoT.

Bomb Attack - Onslaught casts bombs under all player's feet that explode after 1 second, similar to Sisters' Bubbles.
Optic Devastation Attack - Onslaught targets a platform and casts an Optic Devastation beam on everyone there.
NOTE: In earlier interations; may not still be in

Sentinel Spawns at 66% and 33% - Onslaught spawns 3 Sentinels, one on each platform. During this time, Onslaught is immune to all damage until all Sentinels are defeated.

Buffs/Debuffs:

Damage Increase Buff - When Onslaught focuses attacks on one raised platform, the opposite raised platform gains a damage buff of 30%. NOTE: Currently middle platform is not receiving any damage buffs, but unsure if this is intentional or a bug.

Strategy:

Split your raid group into 3 groups - 3 on each platform and 4 on the middle platform. NOTE: This is a suggestion. We're now doing 4/2/4 split to maximize damage buff.

The actual encounter itself is very straight forward.

Avoid all telegraphed attacks and keep DPS on Onslaught at all times.

When someone gets put into a Prison Shell, have someone on the same platform who gets Lock On cast on them stand behind the player in Prison Shell, and break the Prison Shell.

When Mental Orb is cast, have squishy players avoid the Orb and move away from it. It will eventually despawn. Leave your platform when a Mental Orb spawns and DPS from another platform until the Mental Orb despawns.

At 66% and 33% 3 Sentinels spawn, one on each platform. Everyone must DPS down the Sentinels as fast as possible, since during the time when any Sentinels are up, Onslaught is immune to damage.

that's pretty much the best guideline to follow:

Norn Stones: If you are physical, use attack speed and are not 49 or 50 in your major skills.

Gungnir: Anyone. Transferable easily. If your crit/cdr is low (not using fraglite, not using Atlantis, etc.) then this is likely BIS for you anyways.

Eye/CCR/Axe: If you are Mental/Energy/Physical and generally using bis equipment.

Bow: Just don't bother unless 90%+ of your damage comes from a spender or you aren't equipping any attack speed anywhere else for some reason.

Nullifier: :rip::negative:

Perseus: PERSEEEUSSSSSSSSSSSS! too :c00lbert: to kneel
