'It's easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.'
Hello Auspol, you are all members of the Something Awful Auspol chat thread and you have decided to play a rousing game of Mafia.

However, no one is who they claim to be! Thanks to Web 3.0 technology, your personality has been switched with one of the other worldwide celebrities from the Auspol chat thread.

Unfortunately, the amazing technology of Web 3.0 has turned several of the Auspol personalities into homicidal raving lunatics (as opposed to normal raving lunatics), and now they lust for townie blood. Whoops.

Will Auspol manage to find out who has actually gone mad as opposed to is just a typical Auspol poster?

Nope

The Rules

- We are playing to hammer.
- Days are 12 hours long. From 9am to 9pm.
- Day 1 will start at 9am 8/3/15.
- No editing of your posts.
- lol
- Role explanations: http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Roles but feel free to PM me for any clarifications!
- lmao
- Posting about this game in the chat thread is a modkill.
- Deliberately posting after the hammer is a modkill.
- Revealing your role PM is a modkill.
- There are plenty more modkills but they're a secret.
- kill you'reself

As a final note, every role in this game has PERSONAL GOALS. These goals are in addition to your standard victory condition. If they happen, you get to brag about it and tell people how good at Mafia you are. Even if you lose. At the end of the game, all personal goals will be tallied and presented to the thread.

I would like approximately 22 players!

2. Asphyxious as MILKY MOOR

A hush falls over the town.

Everyone feels a bit... strange ever since they plugged into the new Mafia software, but there's also so much clarity. Yes. It's all so simple. They need to kill someone. There's truth in death, right?

Of course there is.

The town gathers around the man who looks like Mills but says he's Tithin. Someone picks up a cinder block.

They use the cinder block to cave in his head.

Unfortunately, once they piece together the remains of their suspect's face and head, they realise they made a terrible mistake. Or did they?

Mills, the Tithin (omni-aligned leader of the Mills fan club) has been killed!

Get your night actions to me!

DAY 2

The first night was not quiet.

Evidently, someone has decided to figure out whether everyone is who they claim to be. Or, perhaps they just have taken the particular lesson from the mantra of Auspol - kill yourself - to heart.

In any case, several people fail to return to the communal dining area this morning.

Mithranderp (Ironic War Criminal, the third-party cult leader) has been killed!

XyloJW (thatbastardken, the scum-aligned one shot strongman) has been killed!

Asphyxious (Milky Moor, the town-aligned compulsive vigilante survivor) has been killed!

Matthew Beet (Those on my Left, the town-aligned lawyer-gladiator) has been killed!

The air is positively thick with tension and suspicion. Perhaps, someone suggests, we are all figments of IWC's imagination? The fear of this dire existential possibility crawls up your skin like a chemical burn, blasting away any attempt at coherent thought. Soon, however, it becomes time to vote again. One wonders why you should be voting to murder everyone without trial or jury but with Those on my Left dead you're not sure if it actually has legal precedent like someone is saying. Maybe it does. And the murderous looks in the eyes of everyone around you makes you keep quiet.

Day 3

The sun rises.

The one who claimed to be Tirade is dead. Someone else appears to have committed some form of ritual suicide, muttering something about the magical power of friendship. A great sadness comes over you, but you are not sure why.

It even takes you a moment to realise something odd.

No one was killed last night!

Strangely enough, no one died last night. Weird. Maybe because of that, this morning in the mess hall, everyone is uneasy. It's hard not to think that they're all staring at you with malice in their minds. Discomfort clings to you like static charge. What bizarre and improbable string of coincidences must have led to not one person dying?

So, on Day 3, Auspol faces a dilemma. There's a lot of problems - people are confused, someone is babbling away in what sounds like an obscure American dialect, everyone is suspicious of everyone else, and it's highly likely that people are being played by mysterious forces beyond their mortal ken who pledge their allegiance to Michael Bay. But that isn't the real issue.

The real issue is that Mills wasn't Mills - that was just someone else wearing Mills' face.

Auspol despairs at this injustice.

But TOML has been acting strangely, hasn't he? Talking about ethnics and household maids and being strangely conservative about his politics while less conservative with throwing his money around. That's most unlike TOML. The fact that he killed poor thatbastardken (as played by XyloJW) may or may not be a point in his favour.

But maybe, someone says, maybe we have already passed judgement on Mills. His body is dead. Mills, really, no longer exists. How do we know that this is Mills and not just some sort of weird personality shift within TOML's brain?

Others say that justice is actually predisposed to punishing the consciousness of the person, not the physical form. Someone mentions something about teleporters and duplicates and murder and systems of justice.

In the end, no one is sure.

They still murder him regardless.

Those On My Left (Mills, the compulsive serial killer third party) has been killed!

Night actions!
