I thought I would share the following treasure that I came across after seeking an out from long hours of grading papers - some of the legendary Cthulhu mythos stories set to audio and uploaded on youtube. There are many more stories of his that you can find in the playlist - but I am only going to post ones I have listened to personally, others may follow. The Dunwich Horror (my personal favorite) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKkya1pMhMQ The Shuttered Room (a sequel of sorts to Dunwich) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdarfZFLdeM At the Mountains of Madness (second favorite) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2iSmE129uQ Shadow in the Attic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_4hcLcw5_Q Shadow over Innsmouth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3AKejG0hMM Shadow out of Time (man has a thing for shadows) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CAgu-IgJgs The Thing on the Doorstep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHLEGzu8Dw8 Call of Cthulhu ("the" Lovecraft story) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqIxCqayQok Finally: not an audiobook - but a 14 minute guide (SPOILERS) to the mythos and albeit by an amateur; is still quite well done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob7PfxvJCN0

I have some other material I want to add but first I have to take the time to track it down. In the meantime I present the best audio book yet (IMO, based on the tone of the author/ambiance) The Haunter of the Dark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqoMMhsbJzM

Reminder that if you consider listening to an audiobook to be the same as reading a book, then the 3 year olds who listen to a librarian read the hungry caterpillar to them in funny voices read it as well.
