They will most likely go with the junkie part or something similar as it is part of one of Daredevil best and most famous storylines.
His true identity is sold for some drugs and the Kingpin finds out about it. He then uses that info to destroy Matt's life.

Yeah, Born Again is largely an good story with some lovely Frank Millerisms and hey, maybe a Captain America cameo. I do think it's better 3rd season material instead of 2nd, though.

That would be third or fourth. Second will be Elektra and the relationship with Karen. There would be no impact if she was just a coworker.

Yeah, the allusions they made throughout the series about her former life really spell criminal junkie in large letters.

I mainlined Daredevil and it was really good. It took me until I finished the series to realize that it was probably canon to the greater Marvel movieverse (a realization later proven correct). I thought all the little winks and nods to the existence to the other heroes were just that, but when I got to thinking I realized "poo poo, the 'incident' they were obliquely referencing was when loving aliens invaded, wasn't it"

The show was so grounded in reality that it took me THAT long to piece that together.

One thing I did really like was Wesley's 'If he had a suit or a magic hammer' line. Obviously it was pretty funny but it kind of showed that despite the jaw dropping awesomness of the events in the MCU, essentially it just doesn't mean much to the people on the streets. The likes of Iron man and Captain America are basically like the Kardashians...everyone knows who they are and they seem to do a lot of things but they aren't really impacting anything on a real basis.

It's a side of comics I've always been pretty interested in. I think it is in Civil War where there are quite a few allusions to the fact that for the average joe, they'd probably go their entire life without meeting a super hero despite the fact the world seems full of them.

Makes you wonder who is making the biggest difference, people like Cap protecting the world from threats it never knows about or people like Daredevil who are stopping that kid getting sold to slavers.

Or people like Ben, who are trying to expose the kind of corporate problems that a superhero normally doesn't deal with unless there's a kingpin involved. Which is why I've always wanted to see a Batman story where he actually passes the cape on to one of his proteges and starts taking the business and charity aspect of his character more seriously because he realizes he can do more good for more people as Bruce Wayne than as Batman given that there are lots of folks who can punch good, but not as many socially minded billionaires. Sadly, it's unlikely to happen. Even Nolan's Dark Knight just hosed off to have a wife and kids in the middle of nowhere instead, and that's probably about as good a shot as anyone was likely to get. Batman Beyond's Bruce Wayne probably did it for a decade or two off-screen I suppose.

Nah, Hydra's protocol was going to eliminate literally anyone who ever googled the wrong thing. It had millions of targets just within the United States, if I recall correctly, including the President and Tony Stark. Not just every super-powered individual.

Or just some concerned citizens calling for such measures because they're tired of losing their homes to random attacks every few months. And someday the Avengers/FF might start advocating for mutant rights in an active manner by holding rallies and making tv appearances and poo poo, rather than just taking on some mutants occasionally and calling it a day.

One orphanage doesn't really make much of a difference in the end, and I was talking as much about the authorial decision as the character one. Whoever wrote it decided to have Bruce leave his money and it's responsibility to Alfred rather than doing anything with it himself. And Alfred is probably too old to do much in the way of serious work, at least for long anyways.

It's never Spider-man's fault, no more than it's a cops fault that a serial killer escapes jail to kill again. Spider-man is essentially just a civil servant going out and catching the guy who did it. If it's anyone's fault it's the fault of the people for not asking for better measures or appealing for the death penalty to deal with those people on a permanent basis, same as with any killer. Spider-man might be a vigilante, but that doesn't mean he is or should be an executioner. It's not up to him to decide what to do with Green Goblin or whoever when he stops him, it's up to the system. And the system fails every time.

So yeah, finished the show opinions. Enjoyed very much, however it started a 9 and ended a 7 or high 6. Red suit looks godawful.

Quick poss spoilery thoughts from the end

The soul searching is a big part of comic Matt. It ended up really dragging in the midway however. Perhaps I've just had enough of the "WE'RE THE SAME YOU AND I" that features in literally every superhero fiction. I found that there was a huge lull in the back half of the show with generally less excitement in terms of either eye watering brutality or excellently choreographed fights, and also less of the levity that came from all the likable protagonists. It never got outright bad other than a couple of clanger moments here and there, and Wilson was always around to be excellent. It had moments later on (fuckin ninja holy poo poo) but in general the o_o feeling of the first episodes just wasn't there. The first 3 were so tight, constantly exciting, constantly savage and surprising, and it never really found that again. In addition, as the plot progressed it became more and predictable.
