Review numbers ceased to be meaningful a long time ago. For some comparison, Metacritic has Better Call Saul at a 78. Daredevil is right now at a 75.

But it also thinks some obscure and lackluster TV shows are in the high 80s.

I've given up on any review system that is number based outside of maybe thumbs up, thumbs down, at this point.

ED: Daredevil only has such a low rating because of a single review hurling a 45% into the mix. So looking good. I still have no idea how Saul does so badly on Metacritic, but is so high on Rottentomatoes. It deserves the latter.

I bet something like that's mostly from 4 star systems. 3/4 is 75% but usually it's meant as a higher endorsement than a C.

Stick's good ninja clan doesn't have any connection to the hidden cities right? At the end of 07 where "Stone" was talking about Matt being ready when the doors open, those were the only doors I could think of.

Right, The Chaste and The Hand are their own separate thing.

Wait, so the Hand has a connection to the hidden cities?

No, I meant Stick's group The Chaste are enemies of The Hand. That stuff is all separate from the Iron Fist hidden cities stuff.

The hidden cities aren't a Daredevil thing at all, so I wouldn't expect them to come back in any future Daredevil stuff. That has to be setup for Iron Fist.

Do comic readers know what's up with Chinese lady and where she might have gone (she said something like 'much further away [than home to China]')?

The way she laid out DD with her funky martial arts move made it pretty obvious to me that she's somebody comic readers would recognize.

Though I thought the same thing about the kid in the shipping crate that Stick killed so I guess everything that feels straight from a comic isn't.

The theory is she's this character: http://www.comicvine.com/crane-mother/4005-35956/

While on the topic of the costume, did anyone else feel like there was a bit of a tonal shift the moment it shows up? I mean, for nearly the entire 13 series run, Daredevil had a pretty unique voice and style, but the moment that suit shows up, the whole thing feels like a generic '00s superhero movie, complete with a bland fight (and weird, toy commercial-esque close ups of his weapon). It's not enough to even knock the episode down a half point, and it's certainly not the worst part of the series ("I don't think can fall in love you"), but it was a bit jarring.

Still, Daredevil owns. I'm working my way through a second viewing and I really hope we get AKA Jessica Jones before the end of the year is out.

That's probably intentional. His next appearance is in a team-up show with a guy who has bulletproof skin, and a magic martial artist.

I get why he is what he is, but what he is lame. "HURR...you ruined everything...I KILL YOU! RARRGH!" It's absurd.

See, I found that refreshing.

When Fisk kills the Russian brother, he doesn't say it's about violating the privacy rule. Nothing about ruining his plans or whatever. He's killing him because he ruined his date. He's straightforward with that when he Hulks Out on him.

It's the same with Wesley. When he beats the guy it's about nothing more than Wesley was his friend.

He's emotional. That's different in a villain.

Karen should have seriously known better since she and Foggy did just spend SEVERAL HOURS fixing Elena's house and getting jabbed with exploding debris, while all Matt did was talk to Elena in Spanish that one time, for about twenty seconds. COME ON, KAREN.

She said handsome. That's hardly Karen's fault for not realizing she's crazy.

They don't call Daredevil and Luke Cage up when an alien fleet invades. Those guys sometimes have to pitch in, but they're not teaming up with Thor.

Actually, since Nobu died as a result of Matt's felony (conspiracy to commit murder), Matt's definitely on the hook for homicide of Nobu.

Like if you break into someone's house to murder them, and their roommate is there instead, and attacks you, and then dies as a result of the fight, that's not self defense, and you are going to prison.

Nobody can prove conspiracy. The only person he told was a priest.
